Welcome to the Fantasy Alarm MLB DFS Playbook for Tuesday, September 23rd!

Welcome to Tuesday! We are starting the final two series of the season, and things are far from wrapped up! The Guardians are making a push for the postseason, the Marlins are still mathematically alive, and we have plenty of great, meaningful baseball left to be played! Today we have an 11-game main slate starting at 7:10 PM ET on DraftKings and FanDuel. Our expert analysis is here to guide you through the top pitchers, value plays, and stackable offenses to target.

Whether chasing big GPP prizes or grinding cash games, we’ve got you covered with insights tailored to today’s matchups. Let’s jump right into the key plays and strategies to dominate the slate!

This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.

The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.

The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.

The stacks section will bring you are favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers

Let's get into today's core pitching plays for our DFS lineups

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Logan Webb, San Francisco Giants

Logan Webb is a little overpriced today, but there are enough flaws in other options that if you want someone who feels safer, Logan Webb is the place to go. The other two top options I love, with Ohtani and Ragans, have real questions about how far they will pitch into the game, which could limit their ceiling. Logan Webb doesn’t have that issue and has a great matchup, so it may be worth paying up to pair him with one of those other options.

Shohei Ohtani, Los Angeles Dodgers

Ohtani has looked awesome on the mound lately, and the leash is getting longer. He has 37 strikeouts in his last 26 innings, and he has gone 5 innings in two of his previous three starts. I don’t think it is likely we get more than 5 innings out of him still, but if you can get 5 innings of Ohtani at this price, it can absolutely be worth it.

Cole Ragans, Kansas City Royals

This is a risky one. He went 3.2 innings in his first outing back, and the overall line doesn’t look that impressive with 4 strikeouts, 2 walks, and 2 earned runs, but he looked really impressive. I also don’t think we will likely get over 5 innings from him, but I also believe he can provide significant value even with a short leash, with how good he can pitch.

Bryce Miller, Seattle Mariners

In Bryce Miller's last 10 starts, he has 4 or fewer strikeouts in 9 of them, but two starts ago, he struck out 11 against the Angels. I am not betting on him getting 11 strikeouts agai,n but I am hoping he can get well past that 4-strikeout mark in this matchup. Facing Colorado in Seattle is about as good a matchup as you can hope for, so at this price, Miller could be one of the sneaky best options on today’s slate.

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters

Let's check out today's core plays to build our lineups around.

Core MLB DFS Hitters

Matt Olson, 1B Atlanta Braves

Yesterday was not a good day for Matt Olson, getting the Golden Sombrero (4 strikeouts), but he has been on quite the run before that, having just won player of the week honors, hitting 5 homers in 6 games with 14 total hits. This Braves team might be eliminated already, but I don’t expect that to slow Matt Olson down at the end of the season here.

Isaac Paredes, 3B Houston Astros

Isaac Paredes already hit a homer in just his third game back from the IL yesterday. He is a much-needed bat back in the Astros lineup that is fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive, and I think he will continue to give them an offensive surge today against Jeffrey Springs and the Athletics.

Francisco Lindor, SS New York Mets

Another team that is trying to keep their postseason hopes alive, and they need Lindor to continue to be great (which he has been). Lindor is 2 homers short of another 30-30 season, and I expect him to get there, and I expect more great production from him today in a very important game against Cade Horton and the Cubs.

Jackson Merrill, OF San Diego Padres

In Jackson Merrill’s last 16 games, he has hits in 13 of them, slashing .323/.353/.738 with 6 homers, 2 triples, and 5 doubles. It has been a bit of an up-and-down season for Merrill, but this is the Jackson Merrill we were all expecting after his great rookie season and the Merrill that the Padres need as they head into October.
