This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.

The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.

The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.

The stacks section will bring you our favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.

There will also be a daily MLB DFS Show with a variety of hosts ranging from myself, Jon Impemba, Howard Bender, and James Grande. The MLB DFS Show will give you an initial outlook on the day's MLB DFS slate and should give you a good base for the start of your research each day!

There are no games expected to be impacted by weather for today’s slate.

 

 

 

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers

We have an interesting 9-game slate in terms of pitching today.  There is a good mix of both past experience vs opposing hitters and inexperienced starters.  

High-end options include Cole Ragans, Garrett Crochet and Logan Webb.  Brady Singer and Corbin Burnes are intriguing mid-price options with some upside.  Rookie Shane Smith looks like a solid paydown option as well.

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Cole Ragans, Kansas City Royals - DraftKings $10,300 | FanDuel $10,200

Ragans has had a solid start to the 2025 season.  He enters Saturday with 3.79 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 57 Ks in 35.2 IP.

He enters this matchup against the Boston Red Sox with good history against their hitters in the past.  This includes two starts against them in 2024. He put up 25.5 and 28.8 DraftKings points and 47 and 49 FanDuel points in those starts.

Garrett Crochet, Boston Red Sox - DraftKings $10,900 | FanDuel $10,600

Crochet has continued his success into the 2025 season.  He enters Saturday with 2.02 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 56 Ks in 49 IP.

Crochet enters this matchup against the Kansas City Royals with decent, but limited history against their hitters in the past.  He had one start against the Royals during the 2024 season.  He put up 24 FanDuel Points and 15.5 DraftKings points.  Look for Crochet to continue his strong start to the season on Saturday.

Brady Singer, Cincinnati Reds - DraftKings $8,800 | FanDuel $9,100

Singer is one of the interesting mid-price pitchers on Saturday’s slate.  He enters Saturday with 3.66 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 38 Ks in 39.1 IP.  

He faces a Houston Astros lineup that he has fared well against in the past.  This includes two starts against them in 2024. He put up 17 and 17.9 DraftKings points and 34 and 30 FanDuel points in those starts.  Look for a solid performance out of Singer on Saturday. 

Shane Smith, Chicago White Sox - DraftKings $7,000 | FanDuel $8,200

Smith will be making his 8th career start. He enters Saturday with 2.41 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 31 Ks in 37.1 IP.  

He faces a hit or miss Miami Marlins lineup today.  Smith has not faced the Marlins in the past, but this is something that typically favors the pitcher.  He offers solid upside once again on Saturday.

 

 

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters

It is a good slate for hitters as we have some solid matchups against inexperienced and struggling starting pitchers.  Feel free to mix and match today across multiple lineups.  

Colorado Rockies, San Diego Padres, New York Mets, Los Angeles Angels and Chicago Cubs should be the front runners in terms of top teams to stack.

Core MLB DFS Hitters

Freddie Freeman, Los Angeles Dodgers - DraftKings $6,000 | FanDuel $4,200

Freeman has been one of the hottest hitters in all of baseball as of late.  He is currently on a 14 game hitting streak.  He has 9 multi games and 4 HRs during that time span as well.

Freeman is 3 for 9 against Corbin Burnes, the expected starting pitcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks.  Look for another strong performance out of Freddie Freeman on Saturday.

Juan Soto - DraftKings $5,300 | FanDuel $3,900

Soto has really started to turn it up as of late.  He has at least one hit in 7 of his last 8 games.  He also has 4 multi hit games and 5 HRs during this stretch.

Soto is 4 for 6 with 2 HRs against Cubs expected starting pitcher/opener Brad Keller.  He looks like a solid one-of play or key piece to a Mets stack for Saturday’s slate!

Harrison Bader, Minnesota Twins - DraftKings $3,400 | FanDuel $2,700

Bader has been on fire as of late. He has at least one hit in 10 of his last 11 games.  He has 3 multi hit games and 1 HR during this time span.

He has fared well against Giants expected starting pitcher Logan Webb in the past.  He is 3 for 7 against Webb in his career.  Look for another strong performance out of Bader on Saturday!

Yoan Moncada, Los Angeles Angels - DraftKings $3,900 | FanDuel $2,600

Moncada is one of my favorite values for Saturday’s slate.  He has hit safely in 3 of 4 games since returning from the IL.  This includes 1 multi hit game and 2 HRs during that stretch.  

Moncada has good history in the past against expected Orioles starting pitcher Kyle Gibson.  He is 8 for 22 against Gibson in his career.  Look for Yoan Moncada to continue his hot stretch on Saturday!
