Not sure if the MLB pricing on the DFS sites is getting a little better of if I just like tonight’s main slate more than I have on other days. Either way, there are some nice values to take a look at when getting your lineups set up for the contests, especially on the pitching side.

Let’s take a look at what we’ve got for Tuesday, April 13.

Both Sites:

Josh Bell , 1B WAS ($3,000 DK/$2,500 FD) – As much as I love Jack Flaherty , he is still pitching to more contact than usual and I’m not going to fully declare him as being back until I see him dominate a lineup that isn’t the Marlins. Bell made his first start back from the COVID quarantine yesterday and had a hit with a pair of walks and two runs scored. The price is still nice and low and he’s got a career .355 wOBA as a lefty against right-handed pitching.

Myles Straw , OF HOU ($$2,700 DK/$2,300) – The last time I recommended Straw against a lefty, he produced. It wasn’t eye-popping, but he got on-base twice and had two runs scored. From there, he went on a nice little tear and started stealing bases. If you need to punt a position, he’ll give you some upside, especially with Houston facing lefty Matthew Boyd .

Draft Kings:

Luis Castillo , SP CIN ($7,100) – The price-tag is downright criminal. Granted, his one good start came against the Pirates, but Castillo has done this before when he gets rocked in his season debut and then shuts down the opposition the rest of the way. The Giants are an aging lineup that has just a .278 wOBA against righties and strikes out nearly 30-percent of the time.

Omar Narváez , C MIL ($3,400) – He hits in the middle of the lineup and swings from the left side of the plate. Kyle Hendricks has had some difficulties with lefty hitters who are posting a .447 wOBA against him. There are a few who might be cheaper, but none of them are hitting in the meat of the order and he’s definitely got the power to take Hendricks deep.

FanDuel:

Max Fried , SP ATL ($7,600) – This is a great spot for Fried today and the bargain price makes getting bigger bats easier to afford. Fried has started the season slow, but gets a chance to right some wrongs against the Marlins who are struggling to put consistent runs up on the board. Even at this price, few people are going to be on Fried, so take advantage in GPP contests. He’s easily got the skills to succeed so don’t let the slow start deter you.

Nick Solak , 2B/OF ($2,700) – Who knows how long Rays lefty Ryan Yarbrough will last in today’s game, but Solak should get a t least a couple of at-bats against him, thus increasing the opportunity to do some damage. He’s got a .398 wOBA with a .900 OPS against left-handed pitching and Yarbrough is allowing a .341 wOBA to right-handed hitters.

Akil Baddoo, OF DET ($2,800) – Until FanDuel prices him up to where he should be, we’ll just leave Baddoo right here. Seriously. All this guy does is hit and these dirt-cheap prices have been outstanding.
