Houston Astros vs Chris Flexen
Jose Altuve, George Springer, Carlos Correa, Josh Reddick, Alex Bregman
This is likely going to be an ugly one for the Mets as the Astros lineup will be back to full strength on Sunday with Carlos Correa returning to the lineup. Add in the fact that Flexen owns an ERA of 6.89 over his seven career starts and the fact that he will be pitching in an American League park with the DH the stack call here is an obvious one.
Arizona Diamondbacks vs German Marquez
Paul Goldschmidt, Jake Lamb, A.J. Pollock, David Peralta, J.D. Martinez
Ah yes, the old Coors Field stack will be in play this afternoon with the DBacks facing off against German Marquez. Marquez has been solid this season, going 10-5 with a 4.18 ERA while striking out 125 over 131.1 innings. However, in 11 starts in Coors this season he owns a 4.48 ERA and a 4.44 FIP. He has faced the Diamondbacks four times already this season with varying levels of success with his two starts against Arizona while in Coors field resulting in five earned runs over six innings and one earned run over six innings. Paul Goldschmidt has gotten the best of Marquez in their meetings this season as he is 4-for-8 with two home runs and four RBI.
Baltimore Orioles vs Brett Anderson
Manny Machado, Jonathan Schoop, Trey Mancini, Tim Beckham, Adam Jones, Welington Castillo
Anderson had a solid debut with the Blue Jays earlier this week against the Red Sox but on the year as a whole he has struggled, going 2-3 with a 6.83 ERA. He will face the Orioles on Sunday who have quite a few boppers. As a team this season the O’s have scored the eighth most runs off of southpaws and also rank among the top 10 in batting average and OPS against lefties.
Cleveland Indians vs Chad Bell
Edwin Encarnacion, Francisco Lindor, Jose Ramirez, Carlos Santana, Austin Jackson, Brandon Guyer
The Tigers have waved the white flag on the season, having traded away essentially everybody but Miguel Cabrera. This does not bode well for Chad Bell as he gets recalled to make Sunday’s start against the Indians. Bell has an ERA of 5.48 on the year with most of his appearances coming out of the bullpen for Detroit. Everybody in the Indians lineup is in play today, especially those who hit from the right side as RHH own an OPS of .911 off Bell this season.
