In his long previous outing against the Redskins he caught six balls for 56 yards.Ahmad Bradshaw scored in Week 1 and he faces a Bucs squad this week that he ran for 104 yards against in their last meeting.Drew Brees has thrown for 300-yards in each of his last eight starts, the longest streak in NFL history. He's also tossed a score in 44-straight games, just three behind Johnny Unitas' all-time record. The last time he faced the Panthers, oh do you really need me to tell you how he did? He killed it. Brees threw for 389 yards and five touchdowns.
Dallas Clark has scored in each of his last two games against the Giants whereas teammate Vincent Jackson had two TDs in his last game against the G-Men. Of course, both of those players accomplished those feats with other clubs.Larry Fitzgerald is three catches from becoming the youngest player in league history to reach 700 receptions. Since he entered the league he leads the NFL in receiving yards (8,898) and receiving TDs (65). The last time he faced the Patriots he caught three balls for 101 yards and a score. Don't worry about his off effort in Week 1. He'll be fine.
Tony Gonzalez has scored a touchdown in 3-straight games against the Broncos.Frank Gore went over 100-yards in Week 1 and he figures to have a solid chance of doing it again in Week 2 given that he's run for an averaged of 125 yards a contest the four times he has faced the Lions. He's also recorded four touchdowns.
The last two times that Jimmy Graham has faced the Panthers he has gone for 100 yards and a touchdown.
The last two times that Calvin Johnson has faced the Niners he has caught seven balls. In the two games he's gone for 209 yards.
Chris Long has 13 sacks in his past 13 games at home.Marshawn Lynch ran for 135 yards an a touchdown the last time he faced the Cowboys. Since that game on November 6th of last season Lynch leads the NFL with 1,026 rushing yards.
It's been a while, October 17, 2010, but in Brandon Marshall's last game against the Packers he had 10 catches for 127 yards. He also was second in the NFL in Week 1 with 15 targets from Jay Cutler.Eli Manning has thrown for 13 touchdowns, one interception, and an average of 296 yards a game over his last six outings (including the playoffs).
Randy Moss had 47 yards receiving in his first game with the Niners. If he goes for 30 yards in Week 2 he will move into 4th place on the all-time receiving yardage list with 14,935 yards (Isaac Bruce would be next up at 15,208 yards).DeMarco Murray gouged the Seahawks for 139 yards when he faced them last. He ran for 131 yards in Week 1 this season, the fourth game of his young career in which he has hit at least 130 rushing yards.Jordy Nelson caught six balls for 115 yards and two scores the last time he faced the Niners. Greg Jennings had nine catches for 119 yards in his last outing against the Bears. Don't forget about James Jones, he also had two scores in that last matchup.Brian Orakpo dominated the Rams the last time he faced them by forcing a fumble and recording 2.5 sacks.Christian Ponder likes to face AFC clubs (he'll be opposed by the Colts in Week 2). Ponder has thrown five scores while averaging 287 yards a game in three matchups with the other conference.
Redskins runners have had success under Mike Shananigans. In his two career starts Evan Royster ran for 100-yards each time. Must make Alfred Morris feel like a loser since he ran for just 96 yards in Week 1.Andre Roberts of the Cardinals has caught a touchdown in three of his last five games.Aaron Rodgers threw for 283 yards and five touchdowns the last time he faced the Bears. He just kills everyone.Tony Romo likes to see the Seahawks on the schedule. In his last three outings against the club from the Pacific Northwest Romo has thrown for 866 yards, eight scores and just one interception as the 'Boys have won all three games.Aldon Smith abused the Lions in their last meeting going for two sacks while forcing a fumble and picking up a safety. Justin Smith had 1.5 sacks in the game while Patrick Willis made nine tackles while picking off a pass.Alex Smith has led the Niners to a 15-3 record in his last 19 games and in his last 11 starts at home he is 10-1 while throwing for 19 scores and just three interceptions.
Steve Smith (CAR) has scored nine times against the Saints, his most against any opponent. He's scored a touchdown in each of the last two matchups.Matthew Stafford faces one of the toughest defenses in football in Week 2, the Niners. However, he is also the second player in NFL history to have 4-straight games of at least 350 yards passing (Drew Brees is the other). If he throws for 361 yards in Week 2 he will become the first in league history to throw for 2,000 yards in a five game stretch.Charles Tillman had a sack an a forced fumble the last time he faced the Packers.Pierre Thomas has scored 11 touchdowns in his last 15 divisional games. The Saints face the Panthers in Week 2.
Michael Turner has run for three touchdowns and 228 yards in his last two battles with the Broncos.Michael Vick has faced an AFC club as an Eagles starter seven times and he's gone 6-1 while producing 16 touchdowns (12 passing, four running). The Eagles take on the Ravens in Week 2.Roddy White and the Falcons face the Broncos on Monday Night Football. The last four times he's appeared on MNF White has gone for 100 yards or scored a touchdown. Julio Jones had eight grabs for 128 yards an a score in his lone MNF game.
DeAngelo Williams was one of the biggest disappointments in football in Week 1. He'll head into Week 2 with what appears to be another solid matchup. The last five times he has faced the Saints he has run for an average of 116 yards a game while scoring four times.Antoine Winfield has four career interceptions against the Colts, his highest total versus any team. He had one of those interceptions in their last meeting.
Jason Witten needs two catches to reach 700 for his career. Only two tight ends have ever reached that mark (Tony Gonzalez has 1,154 and counting while Shannon Sharpe has 815).
RANDOM STAT OF THE WEEK
All this panic over players who failed to impress in the first week of the season has led to say many questions over the past few days that make no sense. Would you drop Chris Johnson, a top-7 RB last week, for Alfred Morris (barely inside the top-50 a week ago)? The answer is NO. Here is some data to support the contention that you shouldn't be panicking if one of your aces let you down in Week 1. Here are some game totals last year for some of the better running backs in football.Reggie Bush ran for a total of 31 yards in Week 2 and 3 in 2011. He finished the year with 1,086 yards on the ground.
Matt Forte ran for, wait for it, two yards in Week 3. He still rushed for 997 yards in just 12 games.Frank Gore had six carries for zero yards in Week 10. He still ran for 1,211 yards last season, seven more than Marshawn Lynch.LeSean McCoy ran for 18 yards in a game last season. He still ended up with 1,309 yards on the ground, the four best mark in football.Adrian Peterson had a game in which he ran for 26 yards. He still finished the year with 970 yards rushing â in just 12 games played.
Michael Turner had a game with 20 yards rushing. He finished the year with 1,340 yards rushing, the highest total in the NFC.
