Happy Memorial Day to everyone. While you’re setting your lineups and trying to decide which type of beer to bring to the barbecue at the cul-de-sac down the street, please take a moment to remember who it is we honor today and why. My hat goes off to all who serve or have served in the military as well as all of their families who sometimes need that extra thought or prayer thrown their way to help them through some trying times. You are all loved. Please remember that.

Now let’s get to some DFS and make you some money this fine Monday. Full slate of games and a nice early start. Based on the options and the match-ups, it’s a pay day for pitchers as some of the low-cost options really have that “you get what you pay for” kind of feel. Here we go…

Jeff Samardzija, SF – There’s just no denying how bad the Braves are, so if you like, I can continue to list their numbers in which they rank no higher than 28th in the league. Or, maybe it’s better to mention that the Shark has allowed just six runs over his last five starts (38.1 innings) and has a 1.41 ERA with a 36:6 K:BB in that span. Either way, he’s a must-play for cash games.

Jose Quintana, CHW – He’s thrown eight quality starts in his last nine outings and has a 2.12 ERA with a 53:12 K:BB over 59.1 innings. Pair that up with the Mets who have a .299 wOBA with a 27.8-percent strikeout rate against lefties this year and have a .282 wOBA with a 31.7-percent K-rate over the past seven days and you’ve got the recipe for DFS deliciousness.

Nate Karns, TB – The Friars have been swinging the sticks a little better this past week, but remember exactly who they are – a team that ranks dead last in the league with a .271 wOBA against righties, a 69 wRC+ and has a 24.2-percent strikeout rate.

Marco Estrada, TOR – I never like to go with a Blue Jays pitcher at home, but my Yankees aren’t exactly playing up to proper standards. Their .302 wOBA against righties ranks 25th in the league, they’ve posted a .264 wOBA with a 21.4-percent strikeout rate over the last seven days and let’s not forget that they were just one-hit by Jake Odorizzi yesterday. Yeah, they won, but one hit? One goddam hit? (you can’t say ‘goddam’ on the air. Oh, it’s all right, no one’s listening).

Tanner Roark, WAS – Not only has Roark been incredibly strong in six of his last seven outings, but his wOBA splits and 2.54 GB/FB are outstanding. He already blanked these same Phillies for seven innings just one month ago and should continue to have them mashing the ball in the dirt all day, stifling that already pathetic 6.3-percent HR/FB.

Ervin Santana, MIN – So how about a Memorial Day dart? The A’s have a .299 wOBA against righties this season and that number drops to .278 at home. We’ve seen a little bit of improvement over the last couple of games, but not enough to not try throwing a buck into a GPP with Santana’s name on it.
