Top Tier

Jose Altuve , 2B HOU - The Astros are facing a lefty today in Steven Matz which is the bingo matchup for Houston ranks within the top 10 in wOBA and OPS while leading the league in average against southpaws this season. Altuve is hitting .349 with an OPS of .837 against left-handed pitching this season. He is also playing well right now, hitting .306 with an OPS of .990 over his last 10 games.

Juan Soto , OF WAS – Soto is slowly coming around after his dreadful start to the season. He has three home runs over his last five games and today faces Vince Velasquez who was rocked for six runs over three innings in his last start. Velasquez had a good run of starts so his surface numbers look good however his xERA, FIP and SIERA are all nearly a run or more higher than his actual ERA. Lets see if the wheels continue to fall off here.

Jazz Chisholm Jr., 2B MIA – Chisholm is an exciting player that has been strong since his return to the lineup. He homered yesterday and has homered in two of the last four games. Today he faces off against the Pirates Chad Kuhl who has been smoked by left-handed bats this season, as he is allowing a .303 average with an OPS of 1.116.

Mid-Tier

Jesse Winker , OF CIN – I’m not sure when Jesse Winker turned into Mike Trout but this is where we are at this season. The Reds outfielder is hitting .342 with 14 home runs and an OPS of 1.020 and before you say that his home ballpark is a key reason please know that he is also hitting .340 on the road this year. He absolutely mashes right-handed pitching, hitting .369 with an OPS of 1.109. I know you may see John Gant and his 1.60 ERA and shy away but the man has been INCREDIBLY lucky this season as he has a 6.04 BB/9 and an incredibly high 86.3% left-on-base percentage. The man walks the world then manages to escape the damage. His 1.60 ERA is paired with a 5.12 xERA, 5.04 FIP and a 5.67 SIERA. That’s not good.

Jean Segura , 2B PHI – Very nice price here for Segura who is having a strong season, hitting .321 with an OPS of .816. He hits at the top of the lineup for Philadelphia, which is a nice perk, especially now that Bryce Harper is back in the lineup. Good cash game play.

Corey Dickerson , OF MIA – A lot of what I mentioned about Chisholm fits the bill here for me with Dickerson. Now, Dickerson is not that talent that Chisholm is, but he does have some power upside and is a decent hitter. A left-handed Marlins stack today could be a nice contrarian GPP option.

Value Tier

Andrew Benintendi , OF KC – This trade keeps looking better and better for Kanas City as Benintendi is hitting .350 with an OPS of 1.000 over the last 10 games. He has hits in nine of his last 10 with three two-hit games over his last five. He has 10 RBI over the last four games. The man is locked in right now.

Tyler Naquin , OF CIN – Naquin may not have the batting average of Winker but he too is having himself a nice season for the Reds, hitting .253 with 11 home runs and an OPS of .830. Again, I think the wheels are going to fall off for John Gant at some point so stacking against him could pay off huge in a GPP when it does.
