Daniel Norris worked five scoreless innings in Sunday’s 6-0 win over the White Sox, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out three.

Norris was the victim of some shoddy defense and lasted just 1 2/3 innings this past Tuesday against the Rangers, but fortunately for the young lefty, he got an opportunity to end his rookie season on a high note and took advantage of it. Over eight starts since coming to Detroit via the David Price deal, Norris has pitched to a solid 3.68 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 27-to-7 K/BB ratio across 36 2/3 innings. He should be an important piece of the Tigers rotation heading into 2016.
