Jacob Trouba doesn't feel like a game without fans is much different on the ice, but he noticed it on the bench.
Trouba got his first taste of playing in an empty arena in the Rangers' 2-1 exhibition loss to the Islanders on Wednesday. “I thought when you’re on the ice playing, it wasn’t a whole lot different,” Trouba said. “I think on the bench is when you notice it the most. You can hear everything that’s said. There’s just not that extra buzz.” He added that without being able to play off the energy of the crowd, it will be important for the Rangers to play off each other's energy.
