2023 Player Outlook

In 2021, Jaylen Waddle primarily operated out of the slot (60.1% of snaps) with a low average depth of target (aDot) of only seven yards. In Mike McDaniel's offense, however, he played most of his snaps at flanker (only 24.5% slot snaps) and his aDot grew to a robust 12.2 yards. That's how he was able to jump from 1,015 yards as a rookie to 1,356 in his second season despite seeing 24 fewer targets. It's wheels up moving forward for Waddle in this new role.
