2026 Fantasy Baseball Player Profile

Bobby Witt Jr.’s 2025 season, while considered a slight "regression" from his historic 2024 MVP runner-up campaign, still cemented his status as the premier shortstop in the American League. Appearing in 157 games for the third consecutive year, Witt slashed .295/.351/.501 with 23 home runs, 88 RBI, and 38 stolen bases. He led the league in hits for the second straight year (184) and set a career high with 47 doubles. His defensive excellence was also recognized, as he earned the 2025 American League Platinum Glove, signifying he was the best overall fielder in the league.

Entering 2026, the 25-year-old is at the center of several major developments in Kansas City. The Royals have moved the fences in at Kauffman Stadium—the left-field wall has shifted from 356 to 347 feet—a move specifically designed to benefit right-handed power hitters like Witt. Before the MLB regular season begins, Witt will serve as a cornerstone for Team USA in the 2026 World Baseball Classic this March. Unlike his 2023 stint as a bench player, Witt is projected to be the starting shortstop, playing for a gold medal on the international stage, a feat that would mirror his father’s silver medal performance in the 1984 Olympics.

For fantasy managers, Witt remains a consensus top-3 overall pick with an ADP of 3.0.
