Acquired in a trade with the Cardinals in November 2025, Gray brings veteran stability to the Boston rotation. His 2025 season in St. Louis was a mixed bag; while he crossed the 200-strikeout plateau and ate innings, he was prone to the long ball, which inflated his ERA to 4.28. 

2026 Outlook: Gray slots in as a veteran presence likely in the middle of the rotation.
