Welcome to another edition of the Fantasy Hockey Injury Report. The injury report is going to keep you up to date on all the important injuries going on around the league, and how that might affect your fantasy hockey team. Make sure to check back regularly for any updates. Let’s take a look at some players that are either ruled out or that we need to monitor.

Abdomen

Defencemen Tony DeAngelo is expected to miss about four weeks due to an abdomen injury. He injured himself on Monday and the team later announced that their talented blueliner would be out multiple weeks. He’s having a bounce-back season, so this is a huge blow for fantasy owners. He should be able to return close to the end of March if everything goes according to plan.

Upper-body

Defenceman Zach Werenski has missed the last two games due to an upper-body injury and is still considered day-to-day. He’s by far the best defenceman on the team and replacing him is not possible. The injury doesn’t sound serious, so there is a chance he can return for Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. We should get another update on his status before that game.

Upper-body

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins left Saturday’s game against the Panthers due to an upper-body injury and did not return. He played only 3:40 before the team announced that he would not return, and it’s too early to know the severity of the injury. For now, consider him day-to-day until we get an update.

Upper-body

The Seattle Kraken has placed forward Jared McCann on injured reserved due to an upper-body injury. He finished Tuesday’s game against the Islanders without an issue, but Thursday it was announced that he wouldn’t play against Boston and that he would be heading to IR. The Kraken is losing a player with 21-goals this season, so it’s a huge blow to their offense. The earlier he can return is March 2 against the Predators.

Undisclosed

Max Pacioretty left Friday’s game due to an undisclosed injury and did not return. He has a chance to play Saturday night against Colorado, but we could see Vegas give their sniper an extra day of rest considering they are already without a few regulars. Pacioretty has missed time this season due to injury, so rushing him back would not be smart. For now, he is considered day-to-day.
