WR CB Matchup Report

Left WR vs Right CB
Wide ReceiverTeamDK / FD $CornerbackOppMatchup
Darnell MooneyATL$5300 / $5900Benjamin St-Juste#N/AUpgrade
Marshon Lattimore’s stint as a Commanders cornerback looks like its going to be fairly limited as he exited last week with a hamstring injury. That puts Benjamin St-Juste back in the mix and assigned to cover Darnell Mooney this week. St-Juste is one of the league’s most heavily targeted corners and the clear weak spot in the Washington secondary this week.
Keon ColemanBUF$4100 / $5300DJ ReedBALDowngrade
Keon Coleman has cemented himself as the snap-leader on the left side of the Bills offense and this week that will have him facing off against DJ Reed. Reed isn’t playing the lights-out brand of coverage we’ve known him for but has still managed to hold his assignment under 30 receiving yards in 8 of 12 games this season. Factoring in the absence of Sauce Gardner, I’d be surprised if Reed draws more than a handful of targets into his coverage this week.
Michael Woods IICLE#N/AJalen Ramsey#N/ADowngrade
I hope you’re not in a position to be considering Michael Woods II this week. He’s going to face coverage from Jalen Ramsey, who has had a bit of an up and down season by his standard but has played his best ball when the Dolphins’ secondary is at full-strength (as it will be this week)
Brandin CooksDAL#N/AQuinyon Mitchell#N/ADowngrade
Every week I struggle to find new ways to describe the greatness of the Eagles’ rookie corner Quinyon Mitchell. He was assigned responsibility for a touchdown last week but it was really the help defender that allowed that catch to convert for a score. Prior to that Mitchell had held his assignment to 26 yards or less in every game since their week 5 bye. This week he’ll cover Brandin Cooks who has shown a decent production floor since returning but will struggle to get much of anything going this week.
Michael Pittman Jr.IND#N/ADeonte Banks#N/AUpgrade
Everything is breaking right for Michael Pittman this week. Joe Flacco will be starting for the Colts and Pittman will get to run in the coverage (if we can even call it that) of Deonte Banks. Banks was benched for poor performance after 10 games but is still among the league-leaders in yards allowed and receiving touchdowns. I’d expect a Colts team who is scratching to keep their playoff hopes alive to try and exploit this matchup.
River CracraftMIA#N/AMartin Emerson Jr.#N/AUpgrade
River Cracraft will be out there again this week but was already off the fantasy radar with Tua playing and now can be safely ignored with Tyler Huntley under center. His matchup against Martin Emerson Jr is top-notch but you are likely getting too cute if you’re trying to go there.
Jauan JenningsSF#N/ATerrion Arnold#N/AUpgrade
Water seems to be breaching the dam with Terrion Arnold. In the two games since Carlton Davis has been hurt, leaving Arnold as the last line of defense, he has given up 173 yards and a score on 9 catches. This week he’ll be assigned to cover Jauan Jennings, who has quickly become the 49ers’ most-reliable receiver. This game has great shootout potential and I think we’ll see a lot of targets going Arnold’s direction.
Mike EvansTB#N/ACaleb Farley#N/AUpgrade
This one is a bit more of a projection than anything. Mike Evans has the size and skillset to compete and win against almost every corner in the league. This week he draws coverage from Caleb Farley, a platoon corner who has played just 136 coverage snaps since being drafted in 2021. He’s allowed all 5 of his targets to be caught this year but moreover, a corner of this profile is likely going to get cooked by the future hall of famer who is pushing to extend his 1,000 yard season streak.

Right WR vs Left CB
Wide ReceiverTeamDraftKings/FanDuelCornerbackOppMatchup
Amari CooperBUF$4400 / $5500Brandin EcholsBALUpgrade
Amari Cooper hasn’t exactly been setting the world on fire as a Bill but has a nice chance to change that narrative this week. He’ll run against Brandin Echols, a rotational corner for the Jets who is playing due to Sauce Gardner being out with an injury. Echols has 3 starts to his name this year, where he’s allowed 109 yards and a score. The rotation in the Bills’ receiving corps will continue to be a limiting factor but Cooper’s individual matchup should draw some additional targets when he’s out there.
Jakobi MeyersLV#N/AAlontae Taylor#N/AUpgrade
Jakobi Meyers gets the nuts matchup this week, running in the coverage of Alontae Taylor. Taylor is still tops in the league in terms of yards allowed, despite playing fewer games than many of the other corners around him, and is drawing a target on 1 out of every 5 coverage snaps. This game could be a mess and its hard to tell how much either team will push to win but Meyers is categorically in a great spot.
Tyreek HillMIA#N/ADenzel Ward#N/ADowngrade
Tyreek Hill is suddenly the last man standing in the Dolphins’ passing game and to add insult to Tua’s injury, Hill will have the toughest matchup in the Browns’ secondary. He’ll run in the coverage of Denzel Ward, the league-leader in pass break ups. At this stage of the playoffs its hard to imagine having better alternatives in season-long but Hill can safely be avoided in DFS.
Dante PettisNO#N/AJack JonesLVUpgrade
This spot for Donte Pettis is somewhat interesting. As detailed above, this game is likely going to be a hot mess but Pettis is fighting to put good tape out there and has a golden matchup against Jack Jones. Jones is on a prolific touchdown streak currently, having allowed 6 scores in his last 7 games, and is now sitting 12th in total yards allowed despite a hot start. I might mix in some Pettis as a punt play in DFS.
Davante AdamsNYJ#N/AChristian BenfordBUFDowngrade
Davante Adams has been white hot as a Jet. He’ll have his work cut out for him this week if he aims to stay hot, running in the coverage of Christian Benford. Benford has been putting the clamps on his assignment in every week but one, where he was unfairly assigned responsibility for a hail mary against these Jets in Week 6. I think you should still be starting Adams where you have him but his upside will be a bit capped based on this matchup.

WR CB Matchup Report

Left WR vs Right CB
Wide ReceiverTeamDK / FD $
Marquise BrownARI#N/A
CornerbackOppMatchup
Jalen Ramsey#N/ASafe
All right we are down to four more weeks until DeAndre Hopkins comes back and Brown's target share is going to take a hit. He had a great 11 targets last week and caught six of them for 68 yards. Unfortunately, this week he did not find the end zone, but the Raiders secondary has a couple good playmakers in it. Ramsey was much more himself last week, allowing just 40 percent of passes against him to be caught, but he did surrender another touchdown. That is three scores in two weeks for perhaps the best corner in football. That makes me comfortable playing Brown in seasonal leagues, especially with how many looks he has been getting, but there are going to be better options in DFS games with the Cardinals offense being a little inconsistent. His value gets a little more of a bump if James Conner misses the game as the Cardinals might throw a bit more.
Wide ReceiverTeamDK / FD $
Drake LondonATL#N/A
CornerbackOppMatchup
Coby Bryant#N/ASafe
This guy has to have gotten your attention by now! He has 19 targets and 13 catches with a touchdown through two weeks and we are seeing why the Falcons made him the first receiver off the board in last year's draft right now. He is even doing this with two tough matchups to start his career in Marshon Lattimore and Jalen Ramsey. I don't know about you, but I can't ignore this anymore and his DFS salary remains very reasonable. Bryant is a rookie fourth rounder who impressed Seattle a great deal, but did have four of five passes his way caught last week against the 49ers. I am all aboard the London train and I think he is a great start in both season long and all kinds of DFS contests.
Wide ReceiverTeamDK / FD $
Rashod BatemanBAL$4900 / $6200
CornerbackOppMatchup
Jonathan JamesBUFModerate
The preseason hype for Bateman appears to be warranted as he has already put himself on top of the heap when it comes to Ravens receivers. He is not racking up a huge number of receptions (six in two weeks) but he has great big play ability and is proving to be quite valuable. His salary has still not caught up to his production in my opinion, the only thing that scares me this week is the opponent. The Patriots offense might not be good, but their secondary has been strong through two weeks. I might be playing it a little conservatively yet, but I'm not quite ready to trust Bateman in DFS games.
Stefon DiggsBUF$3000 / $4000
What a start this guy is having! Diggs went bonkers on Monday night to the tune of three touchdown catches and has been blistering out of the gate this season. You'd think that Gabe Davis would be back after missing last week, but I really don't think it matters right now. He has a ridiculous 20 catches for 270 yards and four touchdowns on 23 targets through two weeks. Xavien Howard is a high-quality corner, but like Jalen Ramsey he has not been at his best so far this year. He has allowed a touchdown in each of the first two weeks, including the long one to Ravens receiver Rashod Bateman last week. I would go so far as to say that Diggs is an absolute must start in season long and his salary is begging you to use him in DFS contests.
DJ MooreCAR#N/A
It has been a fine start for Moore through two weeks, but no one is jumping for joy just yet. The crazy part is that he has the exact same stat line in each of his first two games. Moore has three catches for 43 yards on six targets against the Browns and the Giants. There are two concerning things for me so far for Moore. The first is that they haven't played a high quality defense yet and his numbers are below average. Sure, the Browns secondary is better than the Giants, but offensive coordinators aren't losing sleep when they see Cleveland on the schedule. The other is that Baker Mayfield has been as crappy as we expected. Moore gets a tough matchup with the Saints and Lattimore who is still one of the best even if he was walloped in Week 1. I'm still starting Mooore in season long leagues but he's way off my radar for DFS contests.
Darnell MooneyCHI#N/A
Five targets. Two catches. Four yards. That is Mooney's stat line through TWO WEEKS! If you were in a standard league he cost you points! Justin Fields looks worse this year, and the passing game is atrocious. The Texans secondary has played better than expected so far and right now I think you have to sit Mooney in season long contests until we see some sort of improvement.
Ja'Marr ChaseCIN#N/A
He was held in check as much as Chase can be last week with just five catches for 54 yards against the Cowboys and a four yard run. I guess he should have shut his mouth about Trevon Diggs or shown up better than he did. Chase gets a much easier matchup this week against a Jets secondary that made Jacoby Brissett look fairly decent last week and allowed three touchdown passes to Lamar Jackson in Week 1. The fourth overall pick in Gardner has been stingy with the yardage, but did allow 80 percent of passes to be caught last week. I'm all in on Chase in all formats of fantasy for Week 3.
Amari CooperCLE$4400 / $5500
That was quite a swing of two weeks for Cooper. He had just three catches for 17 yards in Week 1 and then nine catches for 101 yards and a score against the Jets. So, what the hell do we do with this? The Steelers have allowed three passing touchdowns in three weeks, although the yardage has been high. Witherspoon has allowed a touchdown in each of the first two weeks, but I expect this game to be low scoring. Given the level of his salary I think you can find a better value for your dollar on the Thursday Showdown slate.
CeeDee LambDAL#N/A
He has 11 targets in each of the first two weeks, and the better news is that he was actually more efficient last week with Cooper Rush at quarterback. I don't want to say that I am now not worried about the Cowboys offense until Dak Prescott comes back, but that sure did alleviate a little anxiety. The Giants secondary hasn't allowed a lot of points yet but they have also played two atrocious offenses. I won't call the Cowboys offense a juggernaut, but it should be tougher than the previous two. Lamb is a decent option at wide receiver for the Monday night showdown slate since no one from the Giants is worth a damn.
Courtland SuttonDEN#N/A
The stat line of seven catches for 122 yards last week against Houston looks good, but it could have been so much more as he had a touchdown overturned and another near touchdown later in the game. Even if Jerry Jeudy isn't out, he will absolutely be limited in this one, which should open up more opportunities for Sutton. The only bad news is the matchup against a very strong 49ers secondary and their prized free agent signing in Ward. I still won't back away from Sutton in season long leagues, and in a Sunday night showdown slate, Sutton is likely the best option for the Broncos whether or not Jeudy takes the field.
Amon-Ra St. BrownDET$7200 / $8700
If you don't believe he is the man for this Lions team at this point, I don't know what will convince you. St. Brown has 17 catches on 24 targets through just two weeks for 180 yards and three touchdowns. No one else on this team is going to compete with him for targets or production, and he is safe to employ on a weekly basis. The Eagles decimated the Vikings secondary last week, and I don't know that I could be more excited for St. Brown again this week. Fire him up in seasonal and daily for Week 3 for sure
Allen LazardGB#N/A
He was able to get back on the field last week, but Lazard was still limited with his injury. He was able to notch two catches and a touchdown. I sitll think that he will end up being the most targeted receiver on this team as no one has stepped up and differentiated themselves. Sure, Sammy Watkins had a decent game if you look at the boxscore, but if you watched the game the majority of his production was on one catch and the defense kind of lost him. The Bucs secondary has been fairly shutdown so far so I would avoid Lazard in DFS contests for one more week, but I am going back to the well with him in season long leagues.
Brandin CooksHOU#N/A
He hasn't had that big expolsive day yet, but Cooks is getting the volume and better days are ahead. He has 22 targets through two weeks, and although it has only been good for 11 catches, he has played two tough secondaries in the Colts and Broncos. He will see a bit of a softer matchup this week with the Bears who haven't been bad, but sure allowed a bunch of yards last week. I think Davis Mills and the Texans offense gets rolling this week, and Cooks DFS salary has been dropping. I am not saying focus on him in all of your lineups, but he certainly can find his way into a GPP or two as his usage rate is probably trending down.
Michael Pittman Jr.IND#N/A
Man does this team need him! With Pittman out in Week 2 the Colts were embarrassed by the Jaguars and failed to score a single point. The reports are that Pittman is certainly trending towards playing in Week 3. However, even against Fenton who has allowed 78% of passes at him to be caught through two weeks, there is enough uncertainty over Pittman's condition to stay away from him in DFS contests. At the same time, the chance of him being the top receiver on this team is an absolute given and you still should take the chance in your season long leagues.
Marvin Jones Jr.JAC#N/A
The 11 targets in two weeks isn't bad, but Jones has been wholly underwhelming so far this season with just seven catches and 71 yards without a touchdown. While the Jaguars offense is much improved from last season, I am still not sure if it is good enough to have two receivers be fantasy relevant. I also think that if there is going to be another fantasy relevant wide receiver, it is going to be Zay Jones. Marvin Jones is nothing more than injury and bye week insurance on your bench and perhaps someone to dump if a hot waiver wire claim comes your way
Marquez Valdes-ScantlingKC#N/A
If I knew how to spell a fart noise, I would insert it here. Valdes-Scantling was a massive turd against the Chargers last Thursday with just two catches on seven targets for 13 yards. He is going to pop off and have two or three big games, but good luck figuring out when they are. He has been inefficiant as well with just six catches on 11 targets on the year. The Colts have played two bad games, but their secondary is still really good and Gilmore has the talent to be one of the best in the league. I'm not touching MVS with a ten foot pole in any fantasy format for Week 3.
Allen Robinson IILAR$3000 / $4100
After a completely disappointing first week, we finally saw signs of life from Robinson as he caught four of five passes for 53 yards and a touchdown. The five targets were a nice uptick from the two on opening night, but still not what we are looking for if we are being confident with Robinson. The Cardinals secondary has been pretty awful through two weeks and Wilson has allowed two-thirds of passes at him to be caught so far. I am still not seeing enough volume here to use him in DFS games unless you were really feeling lucky in a GPP given his salary, but I am on board with keeping Robinson in our season long lineups and hoping he was just getting acclimated to a new team early in the year.
Mike WilliamsLAC#N/A
He had a huge bounceback in Week 2 with eight catches for 113 yards and a touchdown against the Chiefs and definitely looked like the Mike Williams we expect. There are a couple of question marks coming into this week and one is way bigger than the other. The first is will Keenan Allen come back? That doesn't have a huge impact on Williams as they are both able to do a lot. The second is the health of Justin Herbert. We all saw how much pain he was in last week, but still gutted it out and threw some darts. I'm going to start Williams in season long leagues no matter the quarterback if I don't have a great backup option. But if you drafted a bunch of good wide receivers and Chase Daniel is under center, it might be best to look in another direction.
Davante AdamsLV#N/A
Man, Grandma Adams had to be horribly disappointed! Playing in his first game in front of Granny, Adams had just two catches for 12 yards, but at least had a score. He still did have seven targets, but this was a far cry from his opening week boom performance. This week is going to be very different though as they play the Titans who played without Fulton last week and were absolutely destroyed by the Bills on Monday night. Whether Fulton plays or not is irrelevant. Adams is going to have a massive bounceback game and easily go over 100 yards with a touchdown. He is one of my favorite DFS plays of the week and is never someone to even think about sitting in season long.
Jaylen WaddleMIA#N/A
Wow, what a start to the season for the Dolphins passing game. After a strong first week, Miami exploded and Waddle had 11 catches for 171 yards and two touchdowns! Now, every game won't be like this, but the Bills secondary took a couple of major hits last week against the Titans. Waddle isn't going to see targets like that every week, but you have to figure that Tagovailoa is going to be slinging it around again against a Bills secondary that is probably down to their fourth or fifth corner. Waddle is definitely in consideration for cash games as well as some GPPs and is a must start in season long leagues probably from here on out.
Justin JeffersonMIN#N/A
It was a rough night against the Eagles on Monday night, but don't let that make you shy away from using Jefferson. The Lions secondary has been atrocious to begin the year and we should see a huge bounceback from Jefferson. His usage across DFS might be down a little after last week, but don't fall into that trap, this kid is obviously awesome.
Jakobi MeyersNE#N/A
This offense isn't going to score a lot of points, but Meyers appears to be the WR1 at least through two weeks. He had a solid game with nine catches on 13 targets for 95 yards against the Steelers. I am not sure what to make of this team yet, but the Ravens secondary has been absolutely decimated so far. I am not trusting the Patriots enough for any DFS consideration, but Meyers looks to have played his way to a flex role for this week against Baltimore.
Michael ThomasNO#N/A
The yardage hasn't been fantastic, but Thomas has 17 targets through two weeks and has scored three times for the Saints. He has 11 catches and has done it against two fairly decent secondaries. The Panthers corners have not been very good through two weeks and I see Thomas being able to continue his success. His DFS salary is fairly enticing on DraftKings to work into a couple lineups there and he is becoming an easy weekly start for season long games.
Sterling ShepardNYG#N/A
He plays a lot out of the slot, but has been about half and half as an outside receiver as well. His yardage total was pedestrian with 34 but he did have six catches on ten targets, so if you are in a PPR league he does have a little bit of value. Shepard is a guy notorious for getting injured so you always have to be careful if he finishes a game. I hope you have better options for him for seasonal games as it is only Week 3, but if you have to use him be sure you are in a PPR league. The Cowboys secondary is solid, but if you are looking for someone from the Giants, Shepard might be the best bet for the Monday Night showdown slate.
Elijah MooreNYJ#N/A
He has taken a huge step back in terms of production even though he is still playing the vast majority of snaps. He has just eight catches for 90 yards combined in two weeks, and many expected him to be far and away the top producer in this offense, but I think the biggest surprise is that Joe Flacco actually had a good game last week. I am not buying that performance and the Bengals secondary is decent. I would still give Moore another start in season long leagues, but my expectations have totally changed and he is a no go for DFS games.
A.J. BrownPHI$7000 / $8300
It was a bit of a letdown for Brown with just five catches for 69 yards, but he still led the team in targets, and the Eagles offense just lost steam in the second half. Brown was still a monster and looked impossible to cover at times. The Commanders secondary has been a total disaster and Brown is another one of my favorite DFS plays this week. Jalen Hurts really looks like he has taken a step forward this season and that could mean huge numbers for Brown. Fire him up in all fantasy formats!
Diontae JohnsonPIT$3500 / $5000
The volume is still there as he is averaging 11 targets a game, but Johnson hasn't found the end zone yet, and the yardage is disappointing. The Steelers haven't played against elite defenses, but they haven't played doormats either. Even in PPR leagues I am going to need more than 56 yards a game for Johnson to be worthwhile. I am going to give him a go in the Thursday showdown slate as there really isn't another receiver viable for the Steelers, and even with the low yardage I would still start him in season long leagues.
DK MetcalfSEA#N/A
Oooooof! This has been worst case scenario for Metcalf so far as he has just 11 catches for 71 yards without a touchdown through two weeks. This was why some were passing on Metcalf as the offense isn't going to score a lot of points, and if Geno Smith passes 200 passing yards that will be a good game. It hasn't helped that they have played two very good secondaries in Denver and San Francisco, but this has been really low production. Metcalf is way off of DFS radar, but I am still going to use him in season long league and cross my fingers although Terrell is a strong corner.
Deebo SamuelSF#N/A
It hasn't been a massive start of the year for Deebo as he has just 58 receiving yards and 105 rushing yards and just one touchdown so far. The offense gets a reset now with Jimmy Garoppolo back under center for the rest of the year, and that is good news for Samuel. They will now be more of a traditional offense and we saw how Samuel was used last season. The Broncos defense is strong, but I am all about Deebo this week, especially if George Kittle is still out. However, regardless he is going to be a great play this week and a captain potential for the Week 3 Sunday night showdown slate.
Mike EvansTB#N/A
In a surprise to no one, Evans came out and had a solid opener on Sunday night against the Cowboys with five catches for 71 yards and a touchdown. With Chris Godwin again set to be out of the lineup, the focus will turn to Evans again this week. Lattimore is one of the stronger corners in the league, but Drake London played pretty well with Lattimore on him a decent amount. He will be a great play again this week in all fantasy formats.
Robert WoodsTEN$3600 / $5000
He at least showed up on Monday night after a near disappearance in Week 1. Woods had four catches on five targets for 39 yards without a touchdown against the Bills. That was a tough matchup for him, but the Titans offense is just really bad right now. This one is more about Tennessee than the opponent, and while I still might give Woods another start in season long leagues hoping that his usage continues to trend in the right direction, he couldn't be farther off my radar for DFS contests.
Terry McLaurinWAS$6300 / $7600
It has been the Curtis Samuel show for the first two weeks, which I guess makes sense get as much out of him as you can before he gets hurt. The Commanders offense has been pretty good through two weeks, but McLaurin still has just six catches for 133 yards and they haven't exactly played tough defenses. That changes this week as we saw what the Eagles secondary was capable of when they basically shut down the Vikings high-powered pass game. I am still not going to sit McLaurin in season long leagues, but I am absolutely looking in another direction when it comes to DFS contests, especially with Slay who looked elite on Monday.

Right WR vs Left CB
Wide ReceiverTeamDK / FD
A.J. GreenARI#N/A
His target share was still healthy as the ball was thrown to him seven times, but Green laid another egg with just three catches and 16 yards. The Cards passing game is Brown, Ertz, and shockingly Greg Dortch right now and there's no room at the inn for Green to be relevant. He shouldn't even be on fantasy rosters, nevermind near a starting lineup
Olamide ZaccheausATL$4300 / $5400
He did score a touchdown last week, but Zaccheaus had just two catches on two targets and 21 yards. The Falcons offense really isn't significant enough for multiple people to be fantasy relevant, and if there was going to be someone after Drake London and Cordarrelle Patterson, it would be Kyle Pitts and not this guy. Keep him on the waiver wire where he belongs.
Devin DuvernayBAL#N/A
He had another touchdown in Week 2, although this one was the kick return variety, but Duvernay also didn't finish the game because of a concussion. He has been making a big impact without much usage, so this is definitely a sell-high opportunity if he is able to play this week. With only six touches in two weeks, you can't expect him to keep up this kind of production. The Patriots have been holding opposing offenses down and Duvernay should not be in your lineups if he is able to play, nor should DeMarcus Robinson if Duvernay is out
Gabe DavisBUF#N/A
He was injured on Saturday and wasn't able to get on the field Monday, but it would appear that Davis is set to play this week. He had a very strong game against the Rams, and now goes against a Dolphins secondary that allowed a lot last week. The Bills offense is firing on all cylinders through two games and right now looks like the best in the league. Even if he only practices on a limited basis this week it would be really hard to not consider Davis for DFS purposes and he is a set and forget for season long leagues.
Robbie AndersonCAR#N/A
It appears if Anderson doesn't have a 75-yard touchdown catch each week, he might be inconsistent (insert sarcastic font here). He had just three catches on five targets for 32 yards in Week 2 against the Giants and we were once again reminded that this Panthers passing game isn't going to be very good. It is a tougher matchup even this week against the Saints, and I have a hard time starting Anderson in a season long league outside of a flex play if you have been bitten by the injury bug already.
Equanimeous St. BrownCHI#N/A
The Bears passing game is awful and I have already noted in this article how I am watching Justin Fields regressing and he wasn't very good last season. The fact that St. Brown was leading the team in receiving yards is a sin. This guy isn't very good, and I don't expect this tiny bit of production to grow at all.
Tee HigginsCIN#N/A
The Bengals offense has gotten off to a real sluggish start against the Steelers and Cowboys. Higgins actually had a decent game despite the concussion suffered the week before with six catches on ten targets for 71 yards. You have to figure that the Bengals get it in sync before long, and a game against the Jets defense certainly makes it enticing to think of this week. It might be a tough play considering how they have looked through two weeks, but I have no problem with Higgins in a season long or DFS lineups in Week 3.
Donovan Peoples-JonesCLE$3000 / $4000
We are seeing early on that several offenses aren't going to be good, and you can tack the Browns on to that list. Yes, I know they scored 30 last week, but we can thank Nick Chubb for that. A week after Peoples-Jones had 11 targets, he was unable to catch his lone target in Week 2 against a weak Jets secondary. Jacoby Brissett is not a good quarterback, and the Browns pass game was never going to be potent with him under center. Peoples-Jones might have a few decent games and isn't an awful choice for a Thursday night showdown slate, but he is going to be wildly inconsistent, and even the good games won't be that big.
Noah BrownDAL$3000 / $4000
Sometimes with a change at quarterback comes a change in target share and Noah Brown has been really good since Cooper Rush came in. After four catches late in Week 1, Brown had five catches for 91 yards and a touchdown last week. Can this production actually continue? it feels like it might be getting too cute to put Brown into a season long lineup, but for Monday night's showdown slate he seems like a really good value and perhaps a better choice over CeeDee Lamb given the salary difference
KJ HamlerDEN$3000 / $4000
With Jerry Jeudy very much in doubt, Hamler looks to get back on the field this week after sitting out last week in sort of a maintenance move as he is coming back from an ACL. He had just one target in Week 1 against the Seahawks, and even if Jeudy does miss the game, I wouldn't expect Hamler to put up a fantasy relevant day. The Broncos pass game has been pedestrian through two games and the San Francisco secondary has been veery good. Hamler belongs on the waiver wire, why don't you leave him there?
DJ Chark Jr.DET#N/A
Wow this was not the outcome we were hoping for. A week after having four catches and a touchdown, Chark laid the old goose egg on four targets against a weak Washington secondary. Mama said there'd be days like this for Chark as this offense is clearly running through Amon-Ra St. Brown. I still expect Chark to be better than he was last week (which shouldn't be hard since he had no catches), but he is going to be inconsistent. Dantzler has allowed 70 percent of passes to be caught, so this could be a good week for Chark after Devonta Smith had a much better game for the Eagles Monday night against the Vikings
Sammy WatkinsGB#N/A
Week 1 Watkins actually had a better game in Week 2 as he caught three of four targets for 93 yards. The Packers offense is going to be more revolved around the running backs than the wide receivers (likely outside of Allen Lazard) and most of Watkins production came on one catch. Hopefully at one point someone differentiates themselves as the top receiver on the team so we can get some clarity for fantasy purposes, but I would probably sit every Packers receiver not named Allen Lazard against a tough Bucs secondary.
Nico CollinsHOU$7600 / $8500
The second week was better than the first, but we are still not getting what we hoped for out of Collns. The nine targets was very nice to see in Week 2, but he still ended up with four catches for 58 yards and has yet to find the end zone yet. We are hoping for a better outcome this week against a Bears secondary that hasn't been great through two weeks. However, with it being Week 3, I sure hope you have a better option at wide receiver than Collins or you would just be forced to play him. The salary is also nice, but I need to see more before I consider him for DFS purposes.
Ashton DulinIND#N/A
The only way that he become a viable option at all is if Michael Pittman misses another game, which I am not expecting. Dulin filled in nicely as the number one target with five catches on seven targets for79 yards against the Jags. Watson made a couple of big plays last week for the Chiefs and has allowed just 40 percent of passes at him to be caught this week. Even if Pittman does miss another week, I really don't think Dulin is a viable choice in season long games or DFS lineups.
Zay JonesJAC#N/A
After a fairly productive Week 1, the bottom dropped out some for Jones last week against the Colts as he had just three catches for 23 yards on four targets. The Jags offense is going to be up and down and they did play a tough Colts defense. And when I would say more often than not, it won't be good enough to warrant two receivers to be fantasy relevant. It is another tough matchup this week against a stingy Chargers secondary that has had ten days to get ready for this one and I think Jones is best left on benches, on waiver wires, and out of DFS lineups.
Mecole HardmanKC$3000 / $4000
It was another meh day for Hardman as he finished with just three catches on just four targets for 49 yards in a tough matchup against the Chargers. It is another tough one against the Colts this week who haven't played bad as a team, but are allowing just 224 yards per game through the air. Hardman continues to be someone to plant at the end of your bench or leave him on the waiver wire.
Ben SkowronekLAR#N/A
There is just not enough meat on the bone for another receiver to be fantasy relevant after Cooper Kupp takes up most of the looks and then Allen Robinson and Tyler Higbee continue to have solid roles. Skowronek has just six catches for 41 yards in two weeks and unless there is another injury will not be fantasy relevant.
Joshua PalmerLAC#N/A
He did score a touchdown and had eight targets, but I was not inspired by his four catch, 30 yard effort on Thursday with Keenan Allen out. The Jaguars secondary has played surprisingly well through two weeks, and if Justin Herbert is forced to miss the game Palmer becomes a no go for fantasy purposes. Hell, even if Herbert does play he might not be a great option.
Mack HollinsLV$3500 / $4800
He somehow had five catches on eight targets for 66 yards and outpaced Davante Adams for the team. Don't expect that to ever happen again and even though it is a cupcake matchup against the Titans I would not chase last week's points. Adams will be the boss again with Waller and Renfrow right behind.
Trent SherfieldMIA#N/A
The Dolphins pass game can hold up both Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill's fantasy value, but there sure isn't room for another receiver. Sherfield with his two catches for 19 will need an injury and perhaps two on top of the Cedrick Wilson one to find his way to the fantasy radar. Leave him on that waiver wire as long as the Dolphins receivers are healthy
Adam ThielenMIN#N/A
Justin Jefferson got all of the love and Thielen was left with the scraps and ended up with three catches for 34 yards against the Packers. I am not going to panic after one game that Jefferson is going to steal all of the fantasy production, but this was not a good look for Thielen. He might be more touchdown dependent this season than he has been in the past, but that could work out because he has 24 scores in the last two years. It is a tough matchup against Darius Slay who is a quality corner, but I am still going to keep Thielen in my season long fantasy lineups.
Nelson AgholorNE$3300 / $5100
He did have the second most targets on the team, but that really isn't saying much. Agholor ended up with three catches and 28 yards and the Patriots passing game doesn't look like it is going to scare anyone this year. The Steelers secondary did a good job on everyone not named Ja'Marr Chase last week, and they should have little trouble keeping Agholor in check. If you want him at the end of your bench for bye weeks I guess you could do worse, but I am not excited for Agholor whatsoever in 2022.
Chris OlaveNO#N/A
He did catch all three of his targets, but the Saints passing game didn't get going until the second half, and it was the Jarvis Landry/Michael Thomas show. Olave is going to be more of the down the field threat, and the Saints seemed to be quite content to not take too many chances against the Falcons. Right now I think this kid deserves to be on fantasy rosters, but especially in a tough matchup against one of the top-25 corners in the league it is best to keep him planted on your bench.
Kenny GolladayNYG
Wow has this guy fallen off a cliff! The reports all offseason and preseason of him playing lackluster football spilled over into the first game of the year as he had just two catches on two targets for 22 yards. While all of the twos might be entertaining, that doesn't add up TO many fantasy points. He is unplayable at this point, even against an average Panthers secondary, and one more performance like this and I'll suggest sending Golladay to the waiver wire if you went ahead and took a shot on him.
Corey DavisNYJ#N/A
The Jets have brought in several new weapons at wide receiver in the past couple of years and Corey Davis leads them with six catches and nine targets? Perhaps this is just veteran Joe Flacco going to another veteran receiver, but this surely is confusing. I am not adding Davis, I am not figuring that this will continue, and I am goingto have to see this kind of production for two or three more weeks before I believe it. This offense isn't going to score many points, and Davis is just an average receiver.
Devonta SmithPHI
I really thought the addition of AJ Brown would help Smith in the fact that it would take some defensive pressure off of him. However, against a less than stellar Lions secondary he had no catches on four targets. Brown sopped up over a third of the passes that Jalen Hurts threw, but I do expect that to be redistributed better as the season goes on. I am far from ready to give up on Smith after one game, even after the sting of no catches wears off. He is a flex play in season long leagues and I do truly believe a viable option for the two-game Monday night slate.
Chase ClaypoolPIT#N/A
Do we have a Deebo Samuel light role forming here? Claypool had four catches for just 18 yards against the Bengals, but the Steelers also gave him six rushing attempts, including one near the goal line. I'm very interested to see how this flushes out over the next couple of weeks, because Claypool has great speed and if they design some runs for him and get him in space he could be dangerous. Right now though, his value looks fairly limited and more of a weak flex play or bye week insurance on your bench. Keep an eye on his usage and production this week to see if perhaps we could see Claypool improving in the near future.
Brandon AiyukSF#N/A
As I've said in everyone involved in the Niners/Bears game it is hard to make any real determination of production considering the conditions of that game. Aiyuk had a nice catch early and had a jet sweep run, but in the end the stats were pedestrian. Tariq Woolen made a nice impact in his first game in the Seahawks secondary, but I will say the Denver passing game was able to move the ball with both Jeudy and Sutton. I am still a little shaky with how I feel Trey Lance will do, but at times he looked like he had a decent grasp of the offense. Aiyuk is still a WR3 at worst in my book, but I won't be using him in DFS games.
Marquise GoodwinSEA#N/A
He did have two catches for 22 yards, but there's no chance that Goodwin belongs in any fantasy discussion. The Seahawks are going to struggle to put up 200 yards of passing offense per week and they have two solid receivers and the offense loves to go to the tight end. Leave Goodwin on the waiver wire even when he actually finds a deep pass once in a while.
Julio JonesTB#N/A
Few people believe in Julio Jones less than me. I have the Rotowear Never Julio shirt. But I do have to say through one game he actually looked really strong. He finished with three catches for 69 yards and the Bucs actually gave him two carries as well. He is going to burn you at some point with the hamstring injury, I promise you. However, with Chris Godwin now set to miss some time, Julio is going to be an integral part of the passing game. I can't believe I'm saying this but I start him in both season long and DFS contests this weekend.
Treylon BurksTEN#N/A
It wasn't an explosive first game for the Titans rookie, but it was very respectable with three catches on five targets for 55 yards against the Giants. Two of the catches were for a decent distance, and we surely got a small glimpse of what he is capable of. The task gets WAY harder this week against a Buffalo team that smothered one of the better passing games in football in the Rams (outside of Cooper Kupp of course). It will be hard to see this Titans passing game putting up a lot of stats on the Bills on Monday night. I like Burks, and he could make a big play, but it is a risky play to say the least. Given the options on Monday he could be a dart throw on the Monday slate, but I am not expecting a lot of production.
Jahan DotsonWAS$3600 / $4700
The rookie sure did grab some attention in the opening weekend with the two touchdowns, but if you think about it more, he had only three catches for 40 yards and it was against the Jaguars. Not to disparage Jacksonville, but we know their defense isn't going to be great. The task doesn't get a lot harder this week against the pesky Lions as they gave up 38 points last week to the Eagles. Okudah is a corner that is still getting better, but I still think that Dotson can have another strong game. Once the competition gets tougher though, the kid is going to need a lot more volume to continue to pay off. I would start him this week in season long and then consider selling high.

Slot WR vs Slot CB
Wide ReceiverTeam

DraftKings/FanDuel

Cooper KuppLAR$5400 / $6400
He picked up right where he left off and was the only thing that went right for the Rams last Thursday. His toetap to score the touchdown was a thing of beauty. It was very encouraging to see him put up the kind of numbers that he did last season right from the start in 2022, and against a good Bills defense. This week they get the Falcons who were carved up by the Saints slot receiver Jarvis Landry. What do you think Kupp is going to do? Yeah, he will be even better. Start him everywhere.
Jerry JeudyDEN#N/A
We got exactly what we thought we would out of Jeudy now that he has a competent quarterback and he lit up the Seahawks for four catches and 102 yards with a long touchdown. He also tied with Courtland Sutton with seven targets, which is great for Jeudy's usage as many expected Sutton to outpace him with targets. The Texans secondary played decent last week, but the Broncos are going to come out trying to show that last week's loss to Seattle was a fluke and I expect them to put up 30 points and Jeudy to have a very strong game.
Jarvis LandryNO#N/A
He showed off his chops as the possession receiver as he led the team in targets with nine and catches with seven. But he also showed a little ability to go down the field with a 40 yard catch during his 114 yard outburst. I don't know that he will aways out-target Michael Thomas, but this first week usage is incredibly impressive. The Bucs secondary brings a whole other level of challenge this week, so I would likely look another way for your DFS contests, but Landry sure proved himself worthy of a start in season long leagues after his Week 1 boom.
Christian KirkJAC#N/A
I don't know if the Jags forced the ball to Kirk to prove he was worth the contract, or this is going to be the kind of usage he gets every week. Either way, it was great to see him come away with six catches and 117 yards in the season opener against the Commanders. He easily led the team in targets with 12, three more than Zay Jones. At this point, you have to figure that he will continue to be the alpha among Jacksonville receivers, but the matchup sure does get harder this week against the Colts. Despite his reputation though, Moore was burned for five of seven targets his way and allowed a touchdown as well to the Texans. I like Kirk again this week and would go back to the well DFS-wise and he looks like a must-start in season long leagues.
Juju Smith-SchusterKC$3400 / $4900
I was down on all Chiefs receivers coming into the year, but it seems like Patrick Mahomes likes that slot receiver as Smith-Schuster had a strong first game with six catches on eight targets for 79 yards against the Cardinals. It seems like Arizona's defense is not up to par this year, but it also appears those thinking the Chiefs offense was taking a step down might have been premature. You gotta love the idea of going back to Juju again this week against the Chargers on Thursday night, even if they didn't give up a lot to Hunter Renfrow who was last week's slot receiver. Smith-Schuster should be the secondary target after Travis Kelce again this week, and I don't expect Clyde Edwards-Helaire to score two touchdowns again. Fire up Juju in season long as well as on the Thursday night showdown slate.
Tyler BoydCIN#N/A
With Tee Higgins all but set to miss this game, Boyd is looking like a real strong play. The Cowboys secondary did play well against the Bucs, but Jourdan Lewis is definitely the weak link. He had four catches on seven targets for 33 yards and a touchdown in Week 1, and I expect even more volume for him in this one. When given the opportunity, Boyd has been a consistent producer throughout his career, he has just been (rightfully) overshadowed by Tee Higgins and Ja'Marr Chase the past two years. He is a great season long play this week and a huge bargain in DFS games but might be a better cash play as he likely will be in a lot of people's lineups with Higgins out.
Hunter RenfrowLV#N/A
He had just three catches for 21 yards as I was worried that he would fall to third on the target line with Davante Adams in town. Renfrow still did have six targets, and it was a tough first matchup against a strong Chargers secondary. Things get much easier this week against the Cardinals who were just smacked in the mouth by the Chiefs last week. Arizona gave up a strong game to Juju Smith-Schuster out of the slot, and I am expecting a bigger game from Renfrow in Week 2. He isn't a DFS play, but he should do well enough to be worthy of a flex play at worst in your season long leagues.
Sterling ShepardNYG#N/A
The dude is made of glass, but when he is on the field he usually makes some sort of impact. The volume wasn't as high as usual, but Shepard still had a couple of catches and 71 yards, highlighted by a 65-yard grab. The Giants receiving group is a mess with Kenny Golladay not caring, the team down on Kadarius Toney, and Wan'Dale Robinson injured. They are going to have to throw to Shepard, right? The Panthers secondary isn't very good and made the Browns offense look all right, so even Daniel Jones should be able to move the ball some on them. I am not liking Shepard enough for a DFS pick, but if you grabbed him off waivers you can do worse in your flex spot.
Tyler LockettSEA#N/A
Not only was the Seattle passing game ordinary, it was also spread around so much that Lockett only ended up with four targets and caught three of them for 28 yards. This is likely how it is going to be for most of the season and we will be left guessing when Lockett has those signature huge games that happen a few times a season. Your guess is as good as anyone else's, but the 49ers defense is legit, and I highly doubt it is coming this week. He is a borderline flex going forward.
Curtis SamuelWAS$3400 / $5000
Samuel showed flashes of what we knew he could be when healthy on Sunday as he had eight catches for 55 yards with a score and four carries for another 17 yards. Given the fact that he was only able to play five games last season, I am kind of surprised that the Commanders gave him such a high usage in Week 1, but he was clearly a huge part of the gameplan. Samuel has shown the ability to be a gamechanger when healthy, but that has been a tough task in his career. You have to play him when he is healthy, but I wouldn’t go replacing any solid, veteran performer or a high upside play with him. He should be able to have another good game against the Lions, but I would look to sell high on him if you can after this week.
