Top Plays
Kevon Looney OVER 10.5 rebounds
The Warriors have ruled out a bunch of guys tonight, mostly all of them coming in the front court. They’re going to be without Draymond Green, Otto Porter Jr., Nemanja Bjelica and Andre Iguodala. That opens up all the doors for Looney to grab ALL the boards for Golden State. He’s played three games without both Draymond Green and Nemanja Bjelica this year and has cleared this mark each time.
On the year, Sacramento is 25th in rebounding which bodes well for Looney. What also bodes well for Looney is the fact that the Kings allow the fifth most offensive rebounds per game this season at over 11 per contest!
Gary Trent Jr. OVER 20.5 points
I mean, who the hell is stopping this man right now? The answer? NOBODY. Trent has not only topped this total in five consecutive games, but he’s scored 31 or more in all five. He’s making a TON of three-pointers as he’s hit five or more in all five of those games.
Over the last two weeks, the Bulls rank 20th in DRtg and over that same span, rank 24th in opponents three-point percentage. Opponents are making nearly 38% of their three-point attempts over that span and Trent has taken 10+ in each of his last five games.
Coincidentally one of the five games I’ve referenced came against the Bulls. He went 11-for-22 and hit six three’s in that one. The 221 over/under in this game suggests a lot of points will be scored and Trent will likely be the one scoring most of them. Kidding, but not really.
Jerami Grant OVER 1.5 three-pointers
In just his first action since February 1st, Grant played 29 minutes, scoring 17 actual points while taking 13 shots and went three of six from three-point territory. When you factor in that he played 29 minutes in his first game in almost a month, there’s no reason to think he won’t see a big jump there and likely approach 35 minutes or so.
His match-up comes against a Timberwolves team that does NOT defend the three-point line at all. Over the last two weeks, Minnesota is DEAD LAST in opponents three-point percentage.
He takes north of five threes per game and his ability to space the floor is going to kill the Timberwolves and their lackluster three-point defense here. Minnesota is fourth in pace this season, which is going to maximize Detroit’s offensive possessions.
