The 2025-26 NBA season is here! We had a nice little appetizer last night with two games to get us back in the swing of things. There is a wonderful 12-game main slate for us on Wednesday, and then we can cap off the night with a featured showdown between the Timberwolves and Trail Blazers. Anthony Edwards is among the players on the injury report, so we will need to monitor that one throughout the night.

Let's dive into the NBA DFS Showdown Playbook for tonight's Timberwolves and Trail Blazers matchup.

Wolves vs Blazers NBA DFS Showdown Picks: MVP & Captain

Anthony Edwards, Minnesota Timberwolves - $15,000 DK, $23,100 FD

The Wolves superstar is dealing with a back issue and is listed questionable. Obviously, his status is integral to the entire showdown slate. If he suits up, he is likely to be the highest owned player and comes with the highest ceiling. If he is unable to play, the entire Wolves rotation would be underpriced.

Deni Avdija, Portland Trail Blazers - $13,800 DK, $19,200 FD

Avdija flashed a whole different level of ceiling than he had at any point in his career during last season's final 15 games when he averaged 24.6 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game. He comes at meaningful discount from Edwards and proved he has just as much ceiling.

Julius Randle, Minnesota Timberwolves - $13,200 DK, $16,500 FD

Randle doesn't offer quite the same upside as the other two options on the list, but if Edwards is limited by his back issue in any way, Randle is the top candidate to step up and shoulder the scoring load for Minnesota. He offers double-double upside and a very strong floor.

UTIL NBA DFS Showdown Plays For Wednesday

Shaedon Sharpe, Portland Trail Blazers - $8,600 DK, $10,200 FD

If it weren't the break out of Deni Avdija in last season's final month, Sharpe would have received much more attention for the incredible work he did. The Blazers certainly took notice as they rewarded Sharpe with a 4-year contract extension just before the season. Sharpe had the highest usage rate (25.1%) among Blazers primary rotation players last season, and now Anfernee Simons has been traded. With Simons and Scoot Henderson (injured) off the floor last season, Sharpe saw a 31.5% usage rate.

Toumani Camara, Portland Trail Blazers - $6,600 DK, $7,600 FD

Camara was also the recipient of a 4-year contract extension just before the season, which shows the Blazers' commitment to his two-way contributions for the foreseeable future. We need to save some money somewhere (especially if Edwards plays) and Camara offers a nice floor at a mid-range price tag by contributing in multiple areas of the stat sheet.

Donte DiVincenzo, Minnesota Timberwolves - $6,000 DK, $4,200 FD

DiVincenzo's minutes fluctuated a decent amount over the course of last season, but he can easily pay off his price tag if he finds the higher end of his range. He can also get hot from beyond the arc and put up fantasy points in bunches that way.
