Milwaukee Bucks @ Los Angeles Clippers

We conclude tonight’s NBA offerings with the Bucks traveling to Los Angeles to take on the Clippers for Friday’s NBA DFS Showdown Slate. Giannis Antetokounmpo is ready to go for Milwaukee despite dealing with some persistent knee soreness while the Clippers are holding out Kawhi Leonard as we get closer to the All-Star break. Let us dig into some options to consider when setting your lineups including Norman Powell who should be moving into the starting lineup.

NBA DFS Showdown Slate Picks

MVP/Captain

Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks

The Bucks did play last night, and Antetokounmpo had yet another monster game as he scored 38 points to go along with 10 rebounds and six assists in 36 minutes. With the Clippers resting Kawhi Leonard tonight, and after Milwaukee playing on Thursday, we do have to be a little concerned if Antetokounmpo’s minutes are limited tonight. At the same time though, he has the most potential on the slate and he has certainly proven to be efficient.

Norman Powell, Los Angeles Clippers

Powell has found himself in the starting lineup, and his trend of increased offense should continue tonight with Leonard having a rest day. In four of his last five games, Powell has scored between 24 and 27 points while shooting 51.1% from the field in that stretch. The swingman is the number two option for the Clippers and he is rounding out his production with 4.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game while taking full advantage of the increased workload.

Paul George, Los Angeles Clippers

George gets a bump tonight with Leonard out in what is another strong season for the veteran. He is averaging 23.4 points per game this season, but George still has the ability to hit, or surpass 30, and this could be one of those games as Los Angeles looks to keep up with the Bucks.

Utility

Jrue Holiday, Milwaukee Bucks

Holiday has stepped up all season to fill in the gaps from a scoring perspective for the Bucks, and with Khris Middleton out tonight, that should be the case again tonight. The point guard is averaging 19.1 points per game this year while not neglecting his playmaking duties with 7.1 assists while also grabbing 5.2 rebounds for a well-rounded effort.

Terance Mann, Los Angeles Clippers

Mann should continue to receive consistent playing time, but tonight that will kick up a notch as Leonard and the Clippers in between their moves at the trade deadline. A similar situation on Wednesday led to 21 points in 35 minutes for his third straight game with double-digit scoring.

Brook Lopez, Milwaukee Bucks

For what Lopez might lack in upside, he certainly makes up for with dependability. The center is averaging 14.2 points and 6.4 rebounds per game this year, and he has been a little stronger on the boards over his last few games.

Ivica Zubac, Los Angeles Clippers

Zubac has gone from two to 19 points in back-to-back games recently, but he does have double-digit rebounds in each of his last five games which provides a floor. He is averaging 10.2 points per game this season and he can score with ease on occasion which only serves to increase his value.

Dart Throw

Amir Coffey, Los Angeles Clippers

Coffey should find himself back in the rotation tonight as the Clippers are shorthanded for their matchup against the Bucks. In a similar situation two weeks ago, Coffey scored 18 points in 38 minutes and he should have a similar workload as the Clippers’ true reserve guard available tonight.

Robert Covington, Los Angeles Clippers

We get Covington for a minimum price on DraftKings and it is intriguing with him being the main reserve from a big man perspective tonight for the Clippers. When Covington last got extended action, 21 minutes, he scored 13 points to go along with seven assists.

Wesley Matthews, Milwaukee Bucks

The good news is that Matthews is averaging 21 minutes per game in his last five, and that should continue tonight; especially with Middleton out. While Matthews only scored two points last night, he made just one of five shots from the field, he did grab six rebounds which gets us there from a value perspective. If he adds a few more shots to the mix, then we are really in business.
