Daily Dribble

Welcome to the Daily Dribble where we serve up the latest Fantasy Basketball news and insight so you can make BBQ chicken of your competition. We’ll focus on Daily Fantasy Site (DFS) play, but we will sprinkle in some weekly, season long, and/or dynasty/keeper league insight that should help shape your decision making going forward, as well.

Wednesday, January 29th

James Harden missed Tuesday's game and is questionable for tonight's contest in Dallas (he did travel with the team). Dwight Howard and Terrence Jones finished with nice stat lines and have another favorable matchup tonight. Chandler Parsons under performed and has a tougher matchup tonight versus Shawn Marion and a Mavs team that owns the fourth best defensive efficiency rating against opposing small forwards this season.

Other Injury News

Rudy Gay is expected to return to action tonight versus the Grizzles at home and there is a good chance DeMarcus Cousins could as well, but as of about noon Wednesday both are still a game-time decision.

DeMar DeRozan sat Monday's game and is questionable for tonight's home game against the Magic. Upgrade Terrence Ross again tonight against a Magic team that is allowing 24 points per game to small forwards over their last five games, which is the fourth most in the league. DeRozan has officially been ruled OUT this evening.

Kemba Walker is running without a limp, might practice Thursday, and could play this weekend. So Ramon Sessions will get the start again tonight in Denver. Ben Gordon is out as well, which means extended minutes for Gerald Henderson tonight.

Manu Ginobili (hamstring) will not play Wednesday vs. Chicago. He will have an MRI today. Not much to gain fantasy wise from this news.

Joakim Noah (illness) and Kirk Hinrich (hamstring) are game-time decisions and if out would improve the value of D.J Augustine and Taj Gibson, again.

Schedule Alerts

* Pistons at Hawks tonight postponed due to severe weather conditions in the Atlanta area. *

Eight of the 22 teams in action tonight are playing the second game of a back-to-back. Make that seven of the 20 teams now that the Hawks vs. Pistons game has been postponed: Rockets, Spurs, Magic, Pelicans, Celtics, Grizzlies, and Wizards.

Biggest Concerns when contemplating building your roster  tonight:

* Any time the Spurs play a back-to-back game there is the threat that Popivich will limit the minutes of Tony Parker and Tim Duncan.

Celtics may be without out Rajon Rondo as his status for tonight's game won't be determined until the team's walk-through a few hours before game time. * The Magic have lost there last nine in a row on the road, own the worst road record in the NBA at 3-20, and this is their second road game in as many days. So, it would not be a surprise to see some of there better players struggle from the field tonight. So on the flip side, rostering a few Raptors tonight looks like a good plan, specifically Kyle Lowry, Jonas Valanciunas, and Terrence Ross.

Beast Mode

Below are some players who are trending in the right direction, who play tonight, and are worth considering when building your DFS roster(s).

Anthony Davis dropped 30 points on the Cavs (12 of 18 from the field) to go with seven rebounds, three assists, a steal, and eight blocks in 39 minutes Tuesday night. Davis is averaging 21.8 ppg, 10 rpg, 2.4 apg, 2.2 spg, and 5.4 bpg over his last five games and has another favorable matchup against the TWolves tonight.

Boris Diaw doubles up in loss to the Rockets Tuesday with a team-high 22 points along with 11 rebounds, four assists, and two blocks. The double-double was the first of the season for Diaw who is rolling of late as he has scored in double figures in each of his last four games and five of his last six.

Greg Stiemsma grabbed a career-high 11 boards to go with nine points, an assist, a steal, and two blocks in 31 minutes off the bench for the Pelicans in their 100-89 win over the Cavs Tuesday. Stiemsma may have played his way into the Pelicans starting lineup with his performance last night, but even if he does not get the start for Wednesday's game in Minnesota he may still be worth considering as a discounted option in DFS play tonight as the TWolves will be without center Nikola Pekovic (ankle bursitis).
