How’d you end up with rotoinfo.com? After a few years of independent podcasting, then working for another Fantasy Sports company I decided to test the Free Agent market. I was looking for a site that was well established in the industry and covered multiple sports. I used/use RotoInfo.com as a source for fantasy player news and their daily lineup updates, and they were interested in adding some podcasts to their already expansive amount of content they provide. So, after some discussion, we began a partnership that has blossomed over the past two years where we have now added two more shows to the podcasting schedule, in addition to adding our NFL Lineup grids and my own blog, among many other things at RotoInfo.comHow’d you think that three podcasts were better than one? Tell this audience what your three shows are about and why they are must-listens.I cover and play in multiple Fantasy Sports and most people don’t have the time to listen to a 2-3 hour podcast, so we felt it was in our listeners’ best interest to spread our content across a few shows as opposed to try and cram it all into one podcast. The Fantasy Nomad Show is a show that I host by myself and after providing some of my opinions and stat based analysis I bring on a few guests ranging from beat writers, other Fantasy Experts, and even some musical guests to help spice up the show and bring in an alternative point of view. Two Guys and a Friggin Fantasy Sports Show was started by myself and Lawrence Marino of DynastySportsEmpire.com a few years ago, and is now made up of myself and Alex Mazzelino of “Pushing the Envelope” podcast. The Two Guys and a Friggin Fantasy Sports Show is just that, two guys talking about Fantasy Sports as if we were at the bar sharing a pint of some Blue Ribbon winning beer, going back and forth cracking jokes and providing Fantasy Football, Baseball, and Basketball insight both at the pro and college levels. My third show, the RotoInfo.com Basketball Breakdown podcast, covers Fantasy Basketball (NBA and College) and brings in some of the best beat writers and Fantasy Basketball writers in the business. I would love to add a fourth show, Fantasy Golf, but my love for Fantasy Golf is not yet shared by others, which I don’t understand, but hey I may be a little more insanely involved in Fantasy Sports than is healthy. [Zach note: Fantasy cricket? Time to get in on the ground floor.]Is the first sign of insanity the willingness to participate in multiple fantasy sports? If I’m complaining that not enough people are playing Fantasy Golf, then I guess the answer is yes.Football or sex: which do you think of more?Hello – Mike’s wife here to answer this question… When I was in high school, my grandma told me that I had better learn about football so that I could talk about it with my future husband. I laughed and replied “If all we had to talk about in our relationship was football, then I doubt we would make it to marriage.” Needless to say, I had no interest in learning about a bunch of men in tight pants running around after a ball and knew that no man in my life, no less married, would be so interested in the game that it would even come up in conversation. Somewhere my grandma is having the last laugh on that one. Before dating Mike, the guys that I dated were artistically and musically inclined – football never came up in any conversation and it was glorious… I felt bad for the girls stuck watching the game with their boyfriends. I felt like I had gotten something over on the world in some ways. Now when the game is not on the TV, Mike is getting his sports fix via phone, IPad, or radio and “tweeting the deets.” It has been a culture shock to say the least. To Mike’s credit, I did not realize the extent of his sports addiction for the first three years of our relationship. We did not have a television in our home and he did not have a smart phone. Life was rather X rated, much to my liking, and we never had trouble entertaining ourselves. Mike went out for the bigger games and that was just fine with me. When we started realizing how pricey it was becoming during play offs to keep going out to watch “the game”, we agreed that it made sense to get a TV. I should have known that I was in for a more kid friendly rating when we brought our TV home because, I kid you not, I found Mike laying on the floor hugging the damn thing on the day that we got it. To add insult to injury, he was taking pictures to send to his friends who had been incredulous that we lived without a TV in the first place. Suddenly the living room was overtaken by a sports fanatic who, unfortunately, also now had a smart phone and a newfound love of Twitter. So to answer the question very honestly, if it were not for my ridiculously high sex drive, I believe that Mike would be a happy celibate man during football season. I hope that we never live to see one of those seasons… [Zach note: Michael seems to have a ridiculously high fantasy sports drive, so I hope there's an intersection in that Venn diagram.
