Orlando Arcia, J.P Crawford, Tyler Glasnow and Jameson Taillon have been sent to the minors. Hopefully the questions about when to draft them will now stop. All four could play big roles but none was ever a good bet to help out in April.
Yu Darvish threw 20 pitches today as he works his way back from Tommy John surgery. People seem to be looking completely past the surgery and drafting Darvish with the expectation that he will return to the rotation in June and be a fantasy star immediately. For the 973rd time, it’s rarely that simple. Meanwhile his teammate, Derek Holland, is back on the hill and pitching in game action. Derek allowed two runs, one earned, over four innings Sunday. He looked solid. Could be a nice bounce back candidate who comes cheaply in the draft, but it’s so hard to trust him to stay healthy and it’s unclear where his strikeout ball is at the moment.
Maikel Franco has six homers already in spring. Did you read his Video Profile yet to find out what I think of him?
Remember last season when I was all over Shane Greene? Of course you do. I get crap from folks weekly about him. Turns out he was hurt last season, but now that he’s had surgery and is all better he’s starting to round into form. It would also seem that he’s gaining on Daniel Norris whom he’s battling with for the final spot in the Tigers’ rotation. Monday Green threw four scoreless innings in relief. Though his work was mostly against minor leaguers, he looked a lot better than Norris who needed 54 pitches to work his way through two innings (one run with four strikeouts) and this is a third outing in a row in which he hasn’t completed three games.

Joe Kelly tossed four scoreless innings Monday for the Red Sox. He’s got a big arm though he’s been teasing us for years with it. Could be something, but it’s more of a keep an eye on him than draft him in mixed leagues type of thing. He’s allowed one run in 8.1 innings thus far in spring.
Victor Martinez has a strained left hamstring. Manager Brad Ausmus said "I'm sure he'll miss a couple days, but we don't expect this to be lingering. It shouldn't affect his SB numbers." Ha-ha funny pants. Minimize it all you want Mr. Ausmus, but having your 37-year-old DH/1B be unable to make it through two weeks of work without a leg issue is yet another reason why there shouldn’t be one person in fantasy expecting VMart to offer much of a bounce back this season.

Julio Teheran allowed just two hits over four shutout innings Monday. No one is talking about him. More should be talking about him. He’s a great mid-round target.
Henry Urrutia has been sent to the minors by the Orioles. The 29 year old has hit .289 with 12 homers in 778 at-bats at Triple-A.
Matt Wieters has an MRI on his wonky elbow. It came back clean. Whew. Now he can get back to being the 20-70 guy we’re used to seeing when healthy. Unless more bad news comes down the pipe, he should be fine.
C.J. Wilson had a setup with his shoulder and he will not be ready for Opening Day. That means Matt Shoemaker will almost certainly start the year in the Angels rotation really boosting his AL-only outlook.
