I know Adam Wainwright has been good this year and is facing Pittsburgh, but on FanDuel, when he’s the second-most expensive starter at the ripe age of 56, you know it’s going to be a wild one. If you can pick the right pitcher tonight, there’s plenty of high-priced and value bats to seamlessly fit into your lineup. I have the value bats you need to fit around your studs, but definitely check out the pitching and hitting coaches, as well as the playbook prior to lineup lock today to solidify your squad for tonight’s main slate.

Let’s jump in and find those value bats that can be used for cash games, tournaments or both!

All Sites

Jake Fraley, OF SEA ($2,400 FD/$3,200 DK/$13) - The first of two Mariners here! Fraley has hit righties at a .263 clip this year with a .410 wOBA! He has six home runs in 80 at-bats, and Texas’ Spencer Howard has struggled of late. Over his last nine innings of work, he has allowed seven earned runs and a .303 batting average against. Fraley should be used in GPPs only tonight. If you don’t feel comfortable with Fraley, you can pivot to Abraham Toro.

Jarred Kelenic, OF SEA ($2,300 FD/$2,300 DK/$12) - I’m buying into Spencer Howard’s struggles again. Kelenic is due for a big game, and my gut says tonight is the night. He has an .827 OPS in August and he’s cut down on his strikeouts, which is key. He’s hit safely in six of nine games this month, and half of his hits have gone for extra bases. In GPPs, I like a contrarian Seattle stack to put up some runs against Howard.

Yahoo!

Buster Posey, C SFG ($15 Y) - I like Posey today, but even more so on Yahoo where you get to use him as a catcher! Advantage! He’s 7-for-17 with a home run in his career against Arizona’s Merrill Kelly, who has been abused by right-handers this season, to the tune of a .286 batting average and .344 wOBA. Posey has a .405 wOBA against right-handed pitching this year and is hitting an insane .360 at his home park in 2021. Kelly has allowed a 5.10 ERA on the road this year, as well as a .265 BAA.

Joey Wendle, 3B/SS TB ($11) - BvP! BvP! BvP! Wendle is 6-for-11 with a home run and .643 OPS against Boston’s Nathan Eovaldi for his career. Eovaldi has been tougher on lefties this year, but Wendle has the BvP data, a .312 batting average versus righties and a .344 batting average on the road this year to combat that. Wendle also has five in his last 13 at-bats, good for a .385 average, and he has a .742 OPS alongside.

FanDuel

Pedro Severino, C BAL ($2,700) - First and foremost, make sure Severino is in the lineup tonight, as he hasn’t played in a couple of days. If he does play, fire him up. He has a .369 wOBA against southpaws this year, not to mention a .292 batting average. He’s 2-for-2 with two home runs against Detroit’s Tarik Skubal! Prior to exiting Saturday’s game, Severino was hitting .313 in August with an .857 OPS. Again, keep an eye on his status, but if he’s in Baltimore’s lineup, he should be in yours.

Miguel Cabrera, 1B DET ($2,900) - Cabrera is no stranger to Baltimore’s Matt Harvey. The veteran slugger is 5-for-8 in his career against the right-hander and he has a .253 batting average on the road this year. Miggy has been better against lefties in 2021, and while he isn't exactly swinging the hottest bat, he does have the BvP data on his side, and Harvey has allowed a .372 wOBA to right-handed hitters.

DraftKings

Tyler O’Neill, OF STL ($3,200) - The first of two Cardinals here! I hope O’Neill is able to play tonight, because if he does, he just might put up 30+ fantasy points. He’s 2-for-4 against Pittsburgh’s Wil Crowe, and right-handed hitters have posted a .322 batting average and .974 OPS against Crowe in 2021. Crowe has a 6.30 ERA against the Cardinals this season and O’Neill has a .282 batting average and 16 home runs in 259 at-bats (16.2 AB/HR) against righties in 2021.

Harrison Bader, OF STL ($2,400) - At a much cheaper price point, you can get O’Neill’s teammate, who has also been very good against right-handed pitching. Crowe’s struggles against right-handed hitters were illustrated above, so let’s talk Bader. He’s got a .289 batting average and .348 wOBA versus righties this year, and on the road, he’s a .311 hitter with a massive .406 wOBA! Oh, on the road, he’s homering once every 12.9 at-bats! He’s 1-for-2 with a home run against Crowe, and while he’s been struggling of late, he has hit safely in three of his last four games, and five of his last eight.
