April 19th seems like a good day for some value bats and arms in the DFS landscape! A lot of outfielders featured below, but a couple veteran infielders and a right-handed starter present plenty of value for daily players on this evening slate. Well, without further ado, let’s grab the key, unlock the door and see what we can find in the Value Vault!

Both Sites:

Willie Calhoun , OF TEX ($2,100 FD/$2,600 DK) - Calhoun is far from a guarantee to start in today’s contest, but if he does, sign me up! He has good numbers for his career off Bundy (.375 AVG, 2 HR) and he’s already posted a max exit velocity of 110.6 miles per hour, which is four miles per hour harder than anything he hit last season! Calhoun says he’s healthy following a left groin injury in the spring, so yes, he may not start this game. If that’s the case, move on, but if he does start, toss him in a lineup or two!

Dylan Carlson, OF STL ($3,000 FD/$3,400 DK) - While Carlson’s splits are far more impressive against lefties, he’s certainly in play this evening. Yesterday, he hit two balls above 96 miles per hour against right-hander Aaron Nola , and he has posted a .788 OPS and .211 against righties in 2021. Yes, they don’t jump off the page, but at his price point, he’s a fine tournament play, and there’s plenty of upside with the powerful 22-year-old.

DraftKings:

Andrew Benintendi , OF KC ($3,200) - It was a slow start for Benintendi, as he posted just six hits through his first 36 plate appearances, but he’s hit safely in four of his last five games, and his average exit velocity in that span is up over 91 miles per hour. While he hasn’t been great against lefties for his career (.242 average), Tampa Bay starter Josh Fleming has struggled more with left-handed hitters. Through his young career, Fleming has allowed lefties to hit .295 and post a .500 slugging average. This year alone lefties are hittin .429 with a .567 wOBA. Kansas City lefties should have a productive Monday evening, and it starts with Benintendi, especially if he remains in the two hole.

Manuel Margot , OF TB ($2,900 FD/$2,900 DK) -- While Danny Duffy has been decent this year, Margot has been solid against lefties this year, to the tune of a .333 batting average and 1.012 OPS! He’s hit safely in four of his last games, and has stolen two bases in his past four games. We could be looking at a potential combo meal day (HR+SB in the same game) for a sub-3k outfielder on both sites.

FanDuel:

Chase Anderson , SP PHI ($6,000) - He’s the cheapest starter of the day on FanDuel but he’s got a great matchup. No team has a higher strikeout rate versus right-handers than the Giants (30.2%) and in the last seven calendar days, San Francisco has posted a putrid .215 average and .664 OPS against righties, both of which rank in the bottom third in all of baseball. His strikeout rate pales in comparison to his 12.3 percent swinging strike rate, but he’s been solid twice against the Mets, and as long as he keeps the walks to a minimum, five innings with a handful of strikeouts and a win is within reach.

Carlos Santana , 1B KC ($2,600) - Like I said with Benintendi above, I love the Royals against Fleming today. In 2021, Santana is hitting .353 with a .436 wOBA and one round tripper against southpaws. For Santana’s career, he’s a .277 hitter against lefties. He’s at a great price point on FanDuel, and has back-to-back multi-hit contests.

Jean Segura , 2B/3B PHI ($2,700) - I’m a sucker for BvP data and Segura certainly checks that box. In his career against Kevin Gausman , he’s 5-for-10 with two doubles and 1.200 OPS. Furthermore, he’s never struck out against Gausman. On top of all of that, Segura is hitting .371 off righties in 2021, and if you like home/away data, he’s posted a .352 wOBA at home this year. There’s no such thing as a full proof play, but Segura’s price point on FanDuel is criminal.
