Full 15 games for this Tuesday night in MLB, and Arizona leads the slate with an implied run total almost a full run above the field at 6.28 runs.  There is also Kershaw on the mound tonight, so finding the right value stacks with Kershaw could pay off big time.

As always, things can change based on lineups and weather, so do stay up to date using the Playbook Pro tools.  Below are my favorite stack options for the day.  Good luck!

Stacks for Saturday, May 20

Arizona

I mentioned above that finding the right value stack could pay off, but the same could be said with finding the right pitcher to pair with right Arizona stack.  The D-Backs had the opportunity to put up more runs last night than they did, but tonight’s matchup looks even better for them.

The White Sox are sending Dylan Covey to the mound, he’s the lowest priced pitcher of the slate, and comes in 0-3 with a 7.64 ERA.  Covey has given up two HR’s in four straight starts, and now gets the D-Backs, whose hitters are slugging .514 at home (Rank: 1st of 30 in MLB), and have 44 HRs (21.7 AB/HR) at home this season.

I think you can go a few different ways with an Arizona stack, but may have to wait for lineups to come out to fully figure it out.  We saw that last night with Descalo and Fuentes being inserted at minimum price.  The sites priced these D-Backs as players up against the weak pitcher, so finding that cheap option tonight may be right on that border with Blanco and Drury.  You also may need to change it up by site, as Lamb checks in as affordable on FD, but not as much on DK.  Either way you go, I don’t think you can go wrong having exposure to any part of the Arizona lineup.

Top Stack Suggestions:

Premium Plays are Paul Goldschmidt, Jake Lamb, and David Peralta.

Gregor Blanco if leading off, or any other player that checks in as a cheaper option.  Brandon Drury and Chris Hermann lead the way as top value choices.

Rockies paired with Braves

The Rockies are still leading their division, and may go overlooked tonight in a full slate.  They face Zach Eflin tonight, who has allowed 29 hits and 13 earned runs over his last three starts (17 innings).  The Rockies are hitting .322 with RISP this season (Rank: 1st of 30 in MLB; League Avg: .258), and there should be plenty of that for them tonight.   The prices are up there for some of their players tonight, but be aware for a value option in Amarista of Parra receiving a lineup spot.

Going so need some cheaper options to pair with the top priced Rockies, and the Braves fill that role nicely tonight.  They are home against Tyler Glasnow and his 7.34 ERA he brings with him.  His ERA is slightly worse on the road as it sits at 9.45 is just over 13 innings pitched.  Glasnow has yet to force a hitter into a double play grounder in 35 opportunities this season (League Avg: 11.7%).  Outside of Kemp, you have plenty of options of low priced Braves, with Matt Adams still very cheap.  Adams works perfectly here with Reynolds not having to be a must target from the Rockies.

Top Stack Suggestions:

Colorado:  Charlie Blackmon, DJ LeMahieu, Carlos Gonzalez, Nolan Arenado, Value SS

Braves: Matt Adams, Matt Kemp, Kurt Suzuki,  Brandon Phillips (Pivot DJ to COL catcher.), Nick Markakis

*Alternative to this stack:  Full game stack of Atlanta and Pitt

Angels

They disappointed in the great matchup yesterday, and worth a look to target as a lower owned option tonight.  The first thing that stands out is that Trout and Pujols are a combined 9-11 with 2 HR’s and 7 RBI’s lifetime off Cobb.  He hasn’t pitched that bad this season though, only walking 4 of 133 right-handed batters (3.0%) this season.  This stack is more of a higher risk one that isn’t too much of a stretch by going against a top pitcher like Kershaw, Carasco, or Lester, but also isn’t in as juicy of a matchup as Boston, Baltimore, and a few other teams not mentioned.  There is also value around Trout and Pujols in the Angels lineup to help afford a player like Trout, and even pair this stack up with one of the teams in a more juicy matchup.

Top Stack Suggestions:

Mike Trout, Albert Pujols, Cameron Maybin, Luis Valbuena, Andrelton Simmons.  Kole Calhoun (if leading off).
