My favorite type of stacking is going all in on a single game, and usually not from the highest total game. For my first go at the “Stack the Deck” article, I decided to identify two games to consider, as well as two individual teams to target. Feel free to play around with a few combos of your own. As always, things can change based on lineups and weather, so don’t stay up to date using the Playbook Pro.

96.4% of all lineups that cashed last season on DraftKings stacked at least two players.

DFS Stacks for Tuesday, April 4

Yankees @ Rays

These teams kicked off the season on Sunday with a 7-3 Rays victory. C.C. Sabathia and Jake Odorizzi have given up the long ball at least once to a combined 10 of the 18 projected starters. Longoria, who homered on Sunday, has taken Sabathia deep seven times while batting .403. On the Yankees side, their projected 2-4 hitters are a combined 5-13, with all five for HR’s. My ideal stack for this game works best on DK,and suggest Sanchez over Norris if you have the salary.

Kevin Kiermaier, Evan Longoria, Gary Sanchez, Greg Bird, Matt Holliday, and Aaron Judge.

DK total: $20,100 Remaining: $29,900

Rockies @ Brewers

I liked both of yesterday’s starters more, and both teams combined to score nine runs through the first five innings. My strategy for this game is to attack the top of one lineups, and the bottom of the other. The biggest issue with FanDuel for MLB is the single position eligibility without an utility spot. This stack ideally works best with FanDuel. Perez over Thames would be my pivot option.

Jonathan Villar, Eric Thames, Ryan Braun, Trevor Story, Gerardo Parra, Tony Wolters.

FD total: $18,700 Remaining $16,300

Don’t forget about the Dodgers and Giants as well. Both teams have nice matchups on paper, and may up having higher exposure than those listed above. Patrick Corbin was 1-8 last season at home with a 5.57 ERA. The Giant’s right handed hitting in Hunter Pence and Buster Posey can be paired up with the less popular options of Brandon Belt and Brandon Crawford over Denard Span.

The Padres may be the worst team in baseball this season by far, and their pitching staff plays a large role in that as shown by letting up 14 runs to start the season. Clayton Richard had an 8.10 ERA and less than .5 K’s per inning this spring. Yasmani Grandal and Andrew Toles are both fades for me, but players in lefty/lefty are my targets in Adrian Gonzalez, Corey Seager, and Joc Pederson paired with Yasiel Puig provides you with their 2,4,6,8 projected hitters.
