Core Plays
Pitching
Corbin Burnes, SP MIL - Burnes made the cover of today's pitching coach and for good reason. As I mentioned above, the Brewers are huge favorites today, sitting at -340 to win and the big reason for that is Burnes being on the mound. In his last start he tossed eight no-hit innings while striking out 14. The Brewers as a team completed the no-hitter with Josh Hader closing it out in the ninth. In 2 games against the Cubs this season Burnes has yet to allow an earned run, while striking out 25 over 14 innings.
Lance Lynn, SP CWS - Great value on Lynn here who has been phenomenal this year, posting a 2.50 ERA with 161 strikeouts over 140.2 innings. The Rangers have a 23.9% strikeout rate against RHP this season and with the White Sox a big favorite tonight I think we can expect another strong performance here.
Adam Wainwright, SP STL - The Waino at home narrative is in play here this afternoon as the veteran righty has a 2.71 ERA over 17 home starts this season. Overall, Wainwright is actually having a great season, going 16-7 with a 2.88 ERA. He did face the Padres once this season and was shelled for six runs over four innings as he allowed three home runs in that contest. This is a nice price point though, especially on DK.
José Suarez, SP LAA - If you are looking for a dart throw value play we can take a look at Suarez who is having a decent little stretch right now which included a complete game against the Rangers two starts prior. In three games against the A's this season he is 1-1 with a 3.27 ERA while striking out 11 over 11 innings.
Hitting
Bryce Harper, OF PHI - Hitting .469 over the last 10 games with an OPS of 1.698. During this stretch he hit five home runs with 11 RBI. Harper's average is up to .313 on the season with 33 home runs and 77 RBI. He is hitting .337 with seven home runs and an OPS of 1.342 during the month of September.
Salvador Perez, C KC - Perez has 45 home runs this season with 112 RBI as he has one of the best offensive seasons by a catcher in MLB history. He has hammered left-handed pitching this season, hitting .314 with an OPS of 1.016 vs southpaws.
José Abreu, 1B CWS - Love this matchup for the White Sox today and Abreu will be a core piece of those lineups as he goes up against Spencer Howard and his 7.39 ERA. Abreu has four hits, two doubles and four RBI over the past three games. On the season he has 29 homers, 111 RBI and an OPS of .842.
Kyle Tucker, OF HOU - The Astros are big favorites today against the Diamondbacks and we get a great matchup here for Kyle Tucker who is hitting .400 with an OPS of 1.176 over the last 10 games. The price here for Tucker is also a fantastic value to build your lineups around.
Eloy Jiménez, OF CWS - I know Eloy has cooled off a bit, hitting just .211 over the last 10 games but he may be finally snapping out of the slump as he has a hit in four straight games with a double two of the last three. A matchup against Spencer Howard is a great spot to put one over the fences.
