I don’t think it would be an overstatement when I say that Week 9 in the NFL went to the extremes of good, bad and scary. The good was a record setting day for Nick Foles, Tom Brady’s return to glory and a trifecta of three touchdown games by WR’s. The bad included another stinker from Ray Rice, Matt Ryan sinking further into oblivion and yet another injury to Darren McFadden. The scary didn’t even involve players as we woke up to news of Broncos Head Coach John Fox needing heart surgery and then we watched as Texans Head Coach Gary Kubiak collapsed on the field during Sunday Night Football. No matter which category your teams fall into let’s recap all that happened on this Sunday of Week 9.

Notes | |||||
Dwayne Bowe and Dexter McCluster with big drops in the 1st half
Jeff Tuel throws a 101 interception return for a TD and what should have been a Stevie Johnson TD
The Bills did a great job in containing Charles in the passing game and in the last 2 weeks given 6 yards to RB
Marquis Goodwin could be a difference maker for the Bills if his injury is not serious

Notes | |||||
DaMarco Murray seemed to be struggling with his injury in the second half as he sat out a bunch of plays
Dez Bryant had a bad game with a couple of drops and a penalty which cost Dallas a FG
The Cowboys continue let bad teams hang around and need a last minute Dwayne Harris TD to win it
Josh Freeman was a healthy inactive so the experiment appears to be not happening

Notes | |||||
Chris Johnson finally got things going using his speed to break big plays on a consistent basis
Shonn Greene will likely continue to get any short yardage work and inside the 10.
Zac Stacy has established himself as an every week starter in almost any situation
Jake Locker struggled with his accuracy today missed some open receivers but running game was dominant
20 | New Orleans Saints at New York Jets | 26

Jimmy Graham left game with a shoulder injury | Chris Ivory 3 yard TD run
Jeremy Kerley left game with an elboy injury | Geno Smith 3 yard TD run
Notes | |||||
The Saints are an entirely different team away from the Superdome. Brees is especially erratic on the road.
The Jets defense should have had 5 INT today. This is a good unit who will keep the Jets in games.
Without Colston, Robert Meacham got the start and was more involved than Colston has been all season.
Don’t think that Ivory is going to do this every week. He was inspired playing against former team today.
24 | San Diego Chargers at Washington Redskins | 30
Name | Stats | Name | Stats | ||
Phillip Rivers | 29-46, 341 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT | Robert Griffin III | 23-32, 291 yards, 1 INT 6-17 yards rush

Danny Woodhead cut his nose up on helmet | Sean Lissemore 2 yard INT return for TD
| Darrel Young TD runs of 1, 1 & 4 yards | ||||
| Keenan Allen 16 yard TD reception | ||||
Notes | |||||
Keenan Allen has been a savior for the Chargers and fantasy owners. He is closing in on WR1 status now.
Please do not waste a single dollar of your waiver money on Darrel Young. This was a complete fluke.
Speaking of flukes how is Roy Helu doing these days? Exactly. Don’t make same mistake with Young.
The Chargers should have won this game in regulation but stupidly continue to use Woodhead as goalline RB
10 | Atlanta Falcons at Carolina Panthers | 34
Name | Stats | Name | Stats | ||
Matt Ryan | 20-27, 219 yards, 1 TD, 3 INT | Cam Newton | 23-37, 249 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT 5-22 yards, 1 TD rush

Chris Scott left game with a knee injury | Tony Gonzalez 17 yard TD reception
Corey Peters left game with a leg injury | Drayton Florence 38 yard INT return for a TD
Notes | |||||
Mike Tolbert continues to vulture TD’s scoring on a 4 yard run. The Carolina RB situation is one to avoid.
Steven Jackson had 1st quarter TD called back due to holding penalty.
The more wins the Panthers accumulate the more motivated Cam Newton seems to play.
Neither INT was Newton’s fault. The 2nd came on a play when Steve Smith completely gave up on a play.
49 | Philadelphia Eagles at Oakland Raiders | 20
Name | Stats | Name | Stats | ||
Nick Foles | 22-28, 406 yards, 7 TD’s | Terrelle Pryor | 22-41, 288 yards, 2 INT 10-94 yards rush

Darren McFadden left game with hamstring injury | Zach Ertz 15 yard TD reception
Terrelle Pryor left game with a knee injury | DeSean Jackson 46 yard TD reception
Notes | |||||
Foles could have easily broke the NFL record for TD’s in a game but was pulled early in the 4th quarter.
The problem with in season NFL defensive rankings: The Raiders were ranked 10th overall before today.
This great day of offense for the Eagles shouldn’t deflect the fact that they cannot run the ball well anymore
At this point the Raiders will be so much better off with RaShad Jennings as their primary RB. DMC is a mess.
24 | Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Seattle Seahawks | 27
Name | Stats | Name | Stats | ||
Mike Glennon | 17-23, 168 yards, 2 TD’s | Russell Wilson | 19-26, 217 yards, 2 TD’s, 2 INT 6-36 yards, 1 TD rush
Mike James | 28-158 yards rush 1-1, 2 yards, 1 TD passing | Marshawn Lynch | 21-125 yards rush 4-16 yards rec
Brian Leonard | 5-20 yards rush 4-48 yards rec | Golden Tate | 3-29 yards

Injuries | Key Plays | ||||
Max Unger left game with a concussion | Tim Wright 12 yard TD reception
| Tom Crabtree 2 yard TD catch from Mike James | ||||
| Doug Baldwin 10 yard TD reception | ||||
Notes | |||||
The Bucs had a 21-0 lead late in 1st half and led 24-14 entering the 4th quarter before losing in overtime.
The Seahawks O-line is being exposed. They need Okung & Unger healthy or Russell Wilson is in trouble.
The Bucs inexplicably went away from the run game in the 4th Qtr which ultimately let Seattle back in game
The Seahawks defense has allowed 200+ yards rushing in consecutive games against bottom half rush teams.
18 | Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns | 24
Name | Stats | Name | Stats | ||
Joe Flacco | 24-41, 250 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT 3-25 yards rush | Jason Campbell | 23-35, 262 yards, 3 TD’s 3-20 yards rush
Ray Rice | 11-17 yards rush 3-21 yards rec | Willis McGahee | 21-31 yards

Torrey Smith | 5-78 yards | Josh Gordon | 3-44 yards
Marlon Brown | 5-54 yards, 2 TD’s | Davone Bess | 3-24 yards, 2 TD’s

Jason Campbell left with rib injury but returned | Marlon Brown TD catches of 7 & 19 yards
Jimmy Smith left game with a groin injury | Gary Barnidge 4 yard TD reception
Notes | |||||
The Ravens O-line is horrible right now and is exposing Ray Rice to be an average RB at best on his own.
The Willis McGahee experiment needs to end. Fozzy Whittaker should be given the reigns and call it a day.
Chris Ogbonnaya didn’t record a carry but had 5 catches for 39 yards in today’s game.
The Ravens last four losses have been by a grand total of just 14 points.
31 | Pittsburgh Steelers at New England Patriots | 55
Name | Stats | Name | Stats | ||
Ben Roethlisberger | 28-48, 400 yards, 4 TDs, 2 INT | Tom Brady | 23-33, 432 yards, 4 TD’s

Austin Collie left game with a knee injury | Rob Gronkowski 19 yard TD reception
| Jerricho Cotchery TD catches of 6, 8 & 20 yards | ||||
Notes | |||||
Tom Brady was due for this game. He is getting more comfortable every week now that Gronk has returned.
You know that he’s a RB1 when an off game for Le’Veon Bell is 139 total yards.
Even though Ridley is getting a lot of work, remember Shane Vereen returns after the Pats bye in week 10.
Kenbrel Thompkins was a healthy inactive this week and Aaron Dobson has now locked down the WR2 role.
27 | Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans | 24
Name | Stats | Name | Stats | ||
Andrew Luck | 18-40, 271 yards, 3 TD’s | Case Keenum | 20-34, 350 yards, 3 TD’s 3-26 yards rush
