Week 9 Injury Update

Quarterbacks

Thaddues Lewis (BUF)--The are hopeful they will have Lewis under center for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, but after missing practice from the second straight day, his chances of returning are decreasing as the days go by. Lewis is dealing with a rib injury he sustained in last week's loss to the Saints, which takes a good amount of time to heal, so if he doesn't practice on Friday there is a good chance he doesn't play this week.

E.J. Manuel (BUF)--Despite being a limited participant in practice, the Bills have already ruled out Manuel for this week's game against the Chiefs. Manuel. is recovering nicely from a knee injury, but is not expect to be back in action for another few weeks.

Jay Cutler (CHI)--Although the Bears have yet to officially rule out Cutler for Week 9, he will not be under center on Monday against the Packers. Cutler is improving day by day after suffering a groin injury, but is still a few weeks away from returning to the practice let alone be ready for game action.

Michael Vick (PHI)--The Eagles have announced that Nick Foles will be their starting quarterback for Sunday's game against the Raiders, with Vick being ruled out with a hamstring injury. He will likely serve as an emergency quarterback, like we saw a few weeks back, but that will be in an extreme situation.

Running Backs

C.J. Spiller (BUF)--After missing last week's game with an ankle injury, the Bills feel like Spiller will be ready to return to action Sunday against the Chiefs. Fantasy owner's will want to monitor this situation closely over the next few days, but expect Spiller to be listed as questionable for Week 9 after being limited in practice all week.

DeAngelo Williams (CAR)--Despite missing practice all week with a quadriceps injury, the Panthers expect to have Williams back on the field for Friday's practice, which will increase his chances to play this week. If for some season Williams does not suit up today, his status for Sunday will be in serious doubt, so monitor this situation closely.

Willis McGahee (CLE)--The Browns continue to give McGahee days off during the week in an effort to keep him fresh for the whole season. He has missed the last few Thursday's in order to rest his aging knees, so his lack of practice yesterday should not cause any worry, considering he is expected to return on Friday and be listed as probably for Sunday's game against the Ravens.

DeMarco Murray (DAL)--After missing the team's last two games with a knee injury, the Cowboys are expected to list Murray as probable for Sunday's game against the Vikings. Murray has been a full participant in practice all week and in poised to picked up right where he left off before the injury, in a great matchup against the Vikings.

Arian Foster (HOU)--The Texans continue to be hopeful that they will have their star running back on the field Sunday when they take on the Colts, after he was limited in practice all week. Foster is dealing with a hamstring injury sustained prior to the team's bye-week, and will be the biggest question mark heading into the weekend, considering they are playing in the Sunday night game.

Ben Tate (HOU)--After being limited in practice all week, the Texans will likely list Tate as questionable for Sunday's game against the Colts. Tate is still being bothered by a rib injury sustained over two weeks ago, but will likely play with added protection, although it may prevent him from running as hard as usual to prevent further injury.

Jamaal Charles (KC)--Despite being listed as limited in practice on Thursday, the Chiefs have not reported anything to indicate there is a chance he misses this week's game against the Bills. Charles has been bothered by a lingering knee injury for the last few weeks, but is expected to suit up barring any setbacks over the next few days.

Brandon Bolden (NE)--Once again, Bolden has been a limited participant in practice this week as he continues to deal with a knee injury. The Patriots will likely list him as questionable on the team's official injury report, but he has been listed as questionable the last few weeks and played, so expect the same result on Sunday.

Zac Stacy (STL)--Despite suffering an ankle injury in Monday night's loss to the Seahawks, Stacy has been a full participant in practice this week, making him probable for Sunday's game against the Titans. Stacy dodged a bullet when it was revealed he did not suffer a high ankle sprain, so he is expected to be the team's No. 1 running back on Sunday.

Wide Receivers

Roddy White (ATL)--The Falcons are awaiting clearance from team doctors before White is allowed to practice, and if that does not happen by Friday, there is a good chance he will be out for Sunday's game against the Panthers. White is dealing with both hamstring and ankle injuries, and even if he is clears to return to practice it will be in a limited fashion, so expect him to be a game-time decision at best this week.

Stevie Johnson (BUF)--The Bills are holding onto hope that Johnson will be able to suit up for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, as he continues to be bothered by a hip injury. Johnson has been limited in practice all week and will likely be listed as questionable once the Bills release their official injury report later on today.

Miles Austin (DAL)--After failing to practice for the third time this week, there is a good chance Austin will be ruled out for Sunday's game against the Vikings. Austin continues to be bothered by a left hamstring injury and with the emergence of Terrance Williams, the Cowboys are in no rush to get Austin back on the field.

James Jones (GB)--After missing the last two weeks with a knee injury, the Packers are hopeful that Jones will be able to return to the field on Monday when they take on the Bears. Jones has been dealing with a knee injury sustained in Week 6, but has increased his participation the last few days in practice, so expect him to be listed as questionable heading into the weekend.

Darrius Heyward-Bey (IND)--The Colts are hopeful they will have Heyward-Bey on the field on Sunday when they take on the Texans after being limited in practice all week with a hamstring injury. Heyward-Bey will now serve as the team's No. 2 wide receiver following the season-ending injury to Reggie Wayne, so despite the limited participation in practice, there is a chance he plays this week.

Dwayne Bowe (KC)--Although Bowe has been limited in practice all week with a groin injury, the Chiefs expect to have their top wide receiver on the field on Sunday when they take on the Bills. We will know more about his status once the official injury report is released, but there have been no reported setbacks, so he should be able to play this week.

Greg Jennings (MIN)--After being limited in practice this week with a knee injury, the Vikings will likely list Jennings as questionable for Sunday's game against the Cowboys. Jennings is dealing with a knee injury sustained during an off-day workout, so fantasy owners will have to check his official listing once it is released later on today.

Danny Amendola (NE)--Although Amendola was limited in practice all week, there is no reason to believe he will not be able to suit up for Sunday's game against the Steelers. He will likely be listed as questionable for Week 9, but considering how the Patriots do business, that means he is going to play.

Marques Colston (NO)--The Saints are hopeful that they will have Colston on the field on Sunday, despite being limited by a knee injury in practice this week. Colston has been a non-factor for most of the season, and now with a knee injury, he should be avoided in terms of fantasy until be starts to produce on the field.

Tight Ends

Jermichael Finley (GB)--After sustaining a neck injury in Week 7, it is highly unlikely we will see Finley back on the playing field this season. The Packers are holding onto hope that he will be able to start practicing in the upcoming weeks, but neck injuries are nothing to mess around with, so the team is expected to take every precaution necessary during his recovery.

Rob Gronkowski (NE)--The Patriots will likely list Gronkowski as questonable for Sunday's game against the Steelers after being limited in practice this week with a handful of injuries. However, his listing should not scare away his fantasy owners, considering he has been a limited participant in practice for the entire season.

Jimmy Graham (NO)--Although Graham has been a limited participant in practice this week, the Saints expect him to be ready to go for Sunday's game against the Jets. Graham is dealing with very painful foot injury, but was able to play through he pain last week, so expect the same thing to happen this week, barring any setbacks.
