Rising Stock
Matt Olson 1B, OAK- Olson continues to roll for the A’s in the second half and over the last week he is hitting .386 with six runs, three home runs, six RBI and an OPS if 1.433. He now has hit 18 home runs in 49 games this season.
Tim Anderson SS, CWS- The White Sox shortstop is enjoying one of the better stretches of his young career as he is hitting .392 with nine runs, two home runs, six RBI and five stolen bases over the last two weeks. His recent stretch of stolen bases brings his total to 11 on the year and pairs nicely with his 16 home runs as fantasy owners look for players who can contribute across the board.
Francisco Lindor SS, CLE- The Indians have won an American League record 21 games in a row and Lindor has been a key contributor that as he is hitting .463 with 11 runs, four home runs, eight RBI and an OPS of 1.643 over the last seven days. Lindor’s 30 home runs this season is double his previous career high and at just 23 years old he could find himself as the No.1 shortstop to come off the board in fantasy drafts next season.
Robbie Ray SP, ARI- Ray missed some time this season after getting hit by a line drive off the head but his recent performances should indicate he is no longer suffering the effects of that injury. Over his last three starts Ray is averaging 12 strikeouts a game while having allowed just three earned runs over 22.1 innings.
Kyle Gibson SP, MIN- As it stands right now the Twins would be a Wild Card team if the season were to end today and Gibson would be one of the main reasons for that as the righty is 5-2 with a 2.82 ERA over his last nine starts. Over his last five starts Gibson has been almost unhittable, going 5-0 with a 1.38 ERA.
Falling Stock
Lance McCullers SP, HOU- The injury history with McCullers is one of the reasons the Astros went and acquired Justin Verlander from the Tigers as he figures to bring some stability to the Houston rotation that has been without McCullers already this season along with Dallas Keuchel. McCullers had been struggling before being scratched from his last start, having allowed 26 earned runs over 29.1 innings.
Curtis Granderson OF, LAD- The Dodgers traded for Granderson and have slotted him into their starting center role and leadoff spot but he has been DREADFUL over the last two weeks, hitting just .098 with four runs, one home runs and two RBI.
Yasmani Grandal C, LAD- The Dodgers don't lose 16 of their last 18 games without some dreadful play and Grandal falls into that category as he is hitting just .086 with three runs, one home run and two RBI over the last two weeks.
Stock To Watch
Justin Bour 1B, MIA- The Marlins first basemen came off the disabled list earlier this week and has gone 4-for-15 with four runs and one RBI. Prior to his injury Bour was enjoying a career year and as of now he is hitting .291 with 43 runs, 21 home runs, 64 RBI and one stolen base. He is currently owned in less than 40-percent of standard leagues as most owners cut bait after he landed on the DL. He was a Top 10 fantasy first basemen before his injury and all fantasy owners looking for some home runs and RBI for the fantasy playoffs should give Bour a look.
