Tazawa forced two ground ball outs to record the first two outs of the eighth inning, in what was a nice bounce back game after allowing an earned-run his last time out. 11 PC-7 ST (8/15/13) (MR)  Craig Breslow (L)--Pitched a scoreless seventh inning on Thursday retiring all three batters he faced in order. Smith needed only nine pitches to work through the frame, forcing one ground ball out and one fly ball out while striking out one batter to get the job done. 9 PC-8 ST (8/14/13) (MR) Marc Rzepczynski (L)--Pitched two innings of scoreless relief on Monday night allowing two walks while striking out two batters on 38 pitches thrown. Considering how much he has been used over the last week, expect the Indians to give him the day off on Tuesday. 38 PC-21 ST (8/12/13)Detroit Tigers(CL) Solid Joaquin Benoit (R)–Recorded his 16th save of the season Thursday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one walk on 14 pitches thrown. Benoit has now pitched back-to-back days, so there is a chance we will see Jose Veras used in the closer role Friday in an attempt to keep Benoit fresh for the stretch run. 14 PC-8 ST (8/15/13) (SU) Jose Veras (R)--Picked up his second hold of the season Wednesday despite surrendering one run on one hit and two walks in the eighth inning. Veras has now pitched back-to-back days, so expect him to get the day off on Thursday. 16 PC-8 ST (8/14/13) (MR) Bruce Rondon (R)--Earned his second hold of the season Thursday after recording the final two outs of the eighth inning. This was a terrible outing from Blackley, but he got lucky that his teammate Chia-Jen Lo got him off the hook. 12 PC-5 ST (8/7/13) (CL) Committee Chia-Jen Lo (R)--Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Friday night in a non-save situation allowing one hit on 18 pitches thrown. Lo remains perfect since being recalled from Triple A and should remain in the chase to earn save chances for the remainder of the season. 18 PC-15 ST (8/16/13)Kansas City Royals(CL) Solid Greg Holland (R)–Recorded his 33rd and 34th saves on Friday after pitching in both ends of the team's doubleheader. Perkins served up a solo-home run in the appearance, but the lead didn't slip away until the 12th inning, so Perkins wasn't credited with the loss. 21 PC-16 ST (8/14/13) (SU) Casey Fien (R)--Pitched 0.1 innings of relief on Wednesday surrendering four runs (three earned) on three hits. This was arguably Fien's worst outing of the season after recording only one out in the frame, so hopefully he can get back on track next time he takes the mound. 17 PC-12 ST (8/14/13) (MR) Jared Burton (R)–Picked up the win on Thursday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning in a non-save situation allowing one hit while striking out one batter on 12 pitches thrown. Burton has been pitching very well as of late, but has limited fantasy value in holds leagues for the remainder of the season. 12 PC-10 ST (8/15/13)New York Yankees(CL) Elite Mariano Rivera (R)–Picked up the win despite being charged with his fifth blown-save of the season, after allowing two home runs to tie the game in the ninth inning. Rivera has now blown three straight save chances and is really starting to show signs of his true age. 23 PC-16 ST (8/11/13) (SU) David Robertson (R)–Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Friday night allowing two hits on 13 pitches thrown. Robertson was able to force one ground ball out and one fly ball out to get himself out of a jam, as he continues to be one of the better setup men to own in fantasy baseball this season. 13 PC-10 ST (8/16/13) (MR) Boone Logan (R)–Pitched 0.2 innings of relief on Thursday afternoon surrendering three runs of one hit and two walks. This was clearly a terrible outing for Logan, but considering how well he has pitched this season, expect him to get back on track next time out. 21 PC-12 ST (8/15/13)Oakland Athletics(CL) Elite Grant Balfour (R)–Recorded his 31st save of the season Friday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one hit and one walk on 14 pitches thrown. Balfour got himself into a jam, but was able to work his way through by forcing two fly ball outs to secure the Athletics victory. 14 PC-9 ST (8/16/13) (SU) Ryan Cook (R)--Earned his 17th hold of the season Friday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning allowing one hit and one walk on 25 pitches thrown. Cook worked himself into trouble, but forced three ground ball outs to hold onto the narrow lead. 25 PC-14 ST (8/16/13) (MR) Sean Doolittle (L)–Picked up the win on Friday night despite allowing one run on two hits and two walks in the seventh inning. This was clearly not one of his better performances, but the offense saved him in this one by scoring in the bottom half f the inning. 17 PC-9 ST (8/16/13)Seattle Mariners(CL) Shaky Danny Farquhar (R)--Recorded his sixth save of the season Friday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning retiring all three batters he faced in order. Farquhar bounced back nicely from a disappointing outing in his last appearance, so expect to see him used in the closer role moving forward. 13 PC-9 ST (8/16/13) (MR) Charlie Furbush (L)--Earned his 14th hold of the season Friday after recording the final out of the eighth inning. Furbush needed only four pitches to work through the appearance, forcing the only batter he faced to fly out. 4 PC-3 ST (8/16/13) (MR) Yoervis Medina (R)--Earned his 12th hold of the season Friday night after recording the first two outs of the eighth inning. Casilla allowed runs in back-to-back appearances heading into Friday, so it was nice to see him get back on track in this one. 14 PC-10 ST (8/16/13) (MR) Javier Lopez (L)--Picked up the win on Thursday after pitching 1.2 innings of scoreless relief retiring all five batters he faced in order. Lopez needed only 12 pitches to get through the appearance and has now put together two straight solid outings after he was roughed up last Friday. 12 PC-10 ST (8/15/13) Injured-- Jeremy AffeldtSt. Louis Cardinals(CL) Elite Edward Mujica (R)–Pitched two innings of relief on Thursday afternoon in a non-save situation allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one batter on 24 pitches thrown. Mujica has pitched multiple innings in three straight appearances, showing the versatility that makes him one of the best relievers in all of baseball. 24 PC-16 ST (8/15/13) (SU) Trevor Rosenthal (R)--Pitched two innings of relief on Thursday afternoon surrendering one run on two hits while striking out two batters on 30 pitches thrown. Rosenthal has now allowed four runs over his last three appearances, so hopefully he can turn things around in the upcoming days. 30 PC-24 ST (8/15/13) (MR) Randy Choate (L)--Earned his 12th hold of the season Thursday after striking out the only batter he faced in the seventh inning. Choate has pitched back-to-back days, so expect him to get the day off on Friday. 6 PC-3 ST (8/15/13) Injured– Jason Motte (Elbow), Fernando Salas (Shoulder)Washington Nationals(CL) Solid Rafael Soriano (R)--Took the loss and was charged with his fifth blown-save on Thursday after surrendering three runs on two hits and one walk in the ninth inning. Soriano has now pitched three straight days, so expect him to be given the night off on Friday to clear his head after this terrible outing. 22 PC-14 ST (8/15/13) (SU) Tyler Clippard (R)--Earned his 24th hold of the season Thursday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning allowing one hit on 16 pitches thrown. Clippard has now pitched three consecutive days, so expect him to get the day off on Friday. 16 PC-12 ST (8/15/13) (MR) Drew Storen (R)--Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Friday night in a non-save situation allowing one hit while striking out two batters on 17 pitches thrown.
