American League Bullpen ReportBaltimore Orioles(CL) Solid Jim Johnson (R)âEarned his 14th save of the season Friday night after pitching a scoreless 10th inning allowing one hit while striking out one batter. Johnson continues to get the job done for the Orioles, and has now set the team record for consecutive saves converted. 10 PC-9 ST (5/10/13)
(SU) Darren OâDay (R)âPicked up his fifth hold of the season Wednesday after recording the first two outs of the eighth inning, both via the strikeout. With closer Jim Johnson pitching back-to-back days, there is a chance either O'Day or Pedro Strop will be used in the ninth inning on Thursday, if a save situation arises. 19 PC-14 ST (5/8/13)
(MR) Pedro Strop (R)âPitched a scoreless ninth inning Thursday in a non-save situation retiring all three batters he faced in order. With Jim Johnson unavailable, Strop would have been used in a save situation, but that just wasn't how the cookie crumbled in this contest. 12 PC-9 ST (5/9/13)
Boston Red Sox
(CL) Shaky  Junichi Tazawa (R)--Was used in the ninth inning Wednesday night in a  non-save situation allowing one run on two hits. This was his first appearance since the team named him the closer, so hopefully his next outing will be in a much more meaningful role to reward those you snatched him off the waiver wire. 18 PC-12 ST (5/8/13)
(SU) Koji Uehara (R)âPitched a scoreless eighth inning Thursday striking out all three batters he faced in the inning. He needed only 14 pitches to work through the appearance, in was his most dominant outing of the season. 14 PC-10 ST (5/9/13)
(MR) Andrew Miller (L)--Pitched a scoreless eighth inning Wednesday night striking out the sire on just 14 pitches. With the recent injuries to key players in the Red Sox bullpen, Miller will now move into a more meaningful role, which could result in an increase in fantasy value for those in holds leagues. 14 PC-9 ST (5/8/13)
Injured-- Andrew Bailey (Biceps), Joel Hanrahan (Forearm)Chicago White Sox(CL) Solid Addison Reed (R)âWas used in a non-save situation Wednesday night allowing one run on three hits in the ninth inning. Luckily for Reed, the White Sox had a big enough cushion that the run did not hurt him, but he has now totaled three earned runs allowed over his last three innings of work. 27 PC-20 ST (5/8/13)
(SU) Matt Thornton (L)âRecorded the final out of the seventh inning Wednesday night but did allowed one run (unearned) on two hits. This was Thornton has started to be sued in these type of situations more and more as the season progresses, which has caused his fantasy value to take a hit. 11 PC-7 ST (5/8/13)
(SU) Jesse Crain (R)âPicked up his ninth hold of the season Wednesday night after pitching a scoreless eighth inning allowing one walk while striking out three batters. Crain has looked great this season, and at this point he looks to be the main setup man for the White Sox, which warrants him a spot on rosters in holds leagues. 18 PC-12 ST (5/8/13)
Cleveland Indians
(CL) Solid Chris Perez (R)âCollected is fifth save of the season Wednesday night after working out of  a jam in the top of the ninth inning. A controversial call on an Adam Rosales home run allowed Perez to walk away cleanly from this outing, but the ball clearly was a home run, and was called a double on the field, so his owners should feel lucky after this one. 25 PC-19 ST (5/8/13)
(SU) Joe Smith (R)--Picked up his third hold of the season Wednesday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning allowing one hit while striking out two batters. Smith has done an excellent job since Vinny Pestano went down with an injury, and could become  solid add in holds leagues with a few more outings like this. 17 PC-12 ST (5/8/13)
(MR) Bryan Shaw (R)âPitched 0.2 innings of relief on Friday allowing two hits while striking out one batter. Shaw escaped the appearance unharmed, but has allowed six base runners over his last three appearances, and if that pace continues, his luck will eventually run out. 13 PC-10 ST (5/10/13)
Injured--Vinny Pestano (Elbow)Detroit Tigers(CL) Solid Jose Valverde (R)âPitched a scoreless eighth inning Thursday retiring all three batters he faced in order on only seven pitches. This was Valverde's first appearance since last Friday, so despite it not being a save situation, the Tigers wanted him to get some work in so he wouldn't get rusty. 7 PC-5 ST (5/9/13)
(SU) Joaquin Benoit (R)âPitched a scoreless ninth inning on Friday night in a non-save situation allowing one hit on 12 pitches thrown. Benoit was able to force force one fly ball out while striking out one batter to get through the appearance, and has now pitched two of the last three days, but not consecutively. 12 PC-6 ST (5/10/13)
(MR)  Al Alburquerque (R)--Pitched one inning of relief on Saturday night allowing one run on three hits while striking out two batters. The Tigers had a 16 run lead before Alburquerque entered the game, so it wasn't like this poor outing was going to cost them the game or anything. 21 PC-16 ST (5/4/13)
Injuredâ Octavio Dotel (Shoulder), Phil Coke (Groin)
Houston Astros
(CL) Shaky Jose Veras (R)âRecorded his fourth save of the season Wednesday night after pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning striking out one batter. Vera has now pitched back-to-back days, but may still be used if a save situation arises, considering he has kept low pitch counts over the last two days. 9 PC-6 ST (5/8/13)
(SU) Wesley Wright (L)âTook the loss on Friday night after allowing a game-winning home run to John Baker in the seventh inning. This was Wright's first appearance since last Sunday, so expect to see more of him before this series is over. 16 PC-14 ST (5/10/13)
(MR) Hector Ambriz (R)--Took the loss and was charged with a blown-save Thursday after allowing three runs on two hits and two walks in the seventh inning. Ambriz recorded only one out in the appearance, and has now allowed four earned-runs over his last 1.2 innings of work. 25 PC-13 ST (5/9/13)
InjuredâJosh Fields  (Forearm)
Kansas City Royals
(CL) Solid Greg Holland (R)âWas charged with a blown-save of the season Monday after allowing one run on four hits in the ninth inning. Holland has now pitched back-to-back days and will likely be unavailable to pitch on Tuesday when the Royals travel to Baltimore to take on the Orioles. 27 PC-13 ST (5/6/13)
(SU) Kelvin Herrera (R)âPitched a scoreless eighth inning Thursday allowing one hit while striking out two batters. Herrera was thought the be the next closer in Kansas City after early season struggles from Greg Holland, but Herrera experienced trouble of his own which derailed any plans of him taking over the ninth inning. 11 PC-11 ST (5/9/13)
(MR) Aaron Crow (R)âEarned his sixth hold of the season Thursday after pitching a 1-2-3 seventh inning striking out two batters. Crow has been very effective this season, allowing just one run through his first 9.1 innings, and could see time in the setup role if Kelvin Herrera remains inconsistent. 11 PC-8 ST (5/9/13)
Los Angeles Angels
(CL) Shaky Ernesto Frieri (R)âCollected his fifth save of the season on Thursday after recording the final five outs of the game. Scott Downs left after recording just one out hit due to injury, so Frieri was called upon for another non-traditional save, and was able to get the job done on 20 pitches thrown. 20 PC-15 ST (5/9/13)
(SU) Scott Downs (L)âEarned his sixth hold of the season Thursday despite leaving the game due to an injury after recording only one out in the eighth inning. Downs may find himself on the disabled list, and if that is the case look for Mark Lowe to fill-in as the team's setup man. 8 PC-6 ST (5/9/13)
(MR) Mark Lowe (R)--Pitched 1.2 innings of relief on Friday night allowing three hits on 34 pitches thrown. Due to the high pitch count, don't expect to see Lowe available out of the bullpen for Saturday's game. 34 PC-19 ST (5/10/13)
Injured:  Ryan Madson (Elbow), Sean Burnett  (Forearm)Minnesota Twins(CL) Solid Glen Perkins (L)âRecorded his eighth save of the season Thursday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one walk while striking out two batters. Perkins has now pitched back-to-back days and will likely be given the day off on Friday, so expect Jared Burton to fill in at closer if needed. 24 PC-14 ST (5/9/13)
(SU) Jared Burton (R)âPitched a scoreless ninth inning Friday night in a non-save situation allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one batter. With Glen Perkins unavailable, Burton was in line to be used if a save situation arose, but that wasn't the case in this game. 14 PC-8 ST (5/10/13)
(MR) Casey Fien (R)--Pitched 1.2 innings of relief on Friday night, facing only six batters in the appearance. Fien needed 25 pitches to get through the outing, forcing two ground ball outs, one fly ball out and notching two strikeouts. 25 PC-16 ST (5/10/13)New York Yankees(CL) Elite Mariano Rivera (R)âRecorded his 13th save Thursday after pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning forcing one ground ball out and two fly ball outs to get the job done. Rivera has now pitched back-to-back days, so there is a good chance he will not be available Friday if a save situation arises. 17 PC-14 ST (5/9/13)
(SU) David Robertson (R)âPicked up his sixth hold of the season Thursday after pitching 1.1 innings of relief allowing one walk while striking out three batters. Robertson has now pitched back-to-back days, but the Yankees will likely elect not to use Mariano Rivera on Friday for the same reason, Robertson could be in line for a spot save. 18 PC-12 ST (5/9/13)
(MR) Boone Logan (R)âPitched a scoreless ninth inning Friday night in a non-save situation retiring all three batters he faced in order. Logan has now pitched back-to-back days, so there is a good chance he will get the night off on Saturday. 14 PC-9 ST (5/10/13)Oakland Athletics(CL) Solid Grant Balfour (R)âCollected his fifth save Sunday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one hit and one walk while striking out two batters. Balfour got himself into a jam, but was able to get the job done to take two of the three games in the Bronx. 24 PC-13 ST (5/5/13)
(SU) Ryan Cook (R)âPitched a scoreless eighth inning Wednesday night retiring all three batters he faced in order. Cook looked great in this appearance, striking out tow batters while forcing one ground ball out on just 11 pitches, as he continues to have a solid 2013 season. 11 PC-8 ST (5/8/13)
(MR) Sean Doolittle (L)âRetired the final batter of the seventh inning Wednesday night needing only three pitches to get the job done. Doolittle is not known throughout fantasy as of yet, but he continues to get the job done night in and night out, and should be owned in holds leagues at this point. 3 PC-2 ST (5/8/13)Seattle Mariners(CL) Solid Tom Wilhelmsen (R)âRecorded his 10th save of the season Friday night after pitching yet another scoreless ninth inning. Considering where he was going off the draft board this season, Wilhelmsen has definitely been worth the investment, and has showed no signs of slowing down anytime soon. 10 PC-6 ST (5/10/13)
(SU) Carter Capps (R)âWas used in the eighth inning Tuesday night surrendering two runs on two hits and one walk while striking out one batter. Capps allowed a two-run homer to Garrett Jones in the inning, which raised his earned-run average to 5.29 on the season. 20 PC-13 ST (5/7/13)
(MR) Charlie Furbush (L)âPitched a scoreless seventh inning Tuesday retiring all three batters he faced in order. Furbush had it going in this appearance, striking out two batters while forcing one ground ball out to get through the outing. 14 PC-10 ST (5/7/13)InjuredâStephen Pryor (back)Tampa Bay Rays(CL) Solid Fernando Rodney (R)âEarned his fifth save of the season Friday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one walk while striking out one batter. Rodney has been mediocre at best this season, but the fact he was able to move past his disastrous outing earlier in the week proves he still has what it takes to be a closer in the big leagues. 16 PC-11 ST (5/10/13)
(SU) Joel Peralta (R)âPicked up his seventh hold of the season Friday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning allowing one walk on 10 pitches thrown. This was Peralta's first appearance since Tuesday, so expect him to be available to handle the eighth inning the rest of the weekend. 10 PC-5 ST (5/10/13)
(MR) Jake McGee (L)âPicked up the win Friday night after pitching a 1-2-3 seventh inning needing only 12 pitches to get the job done. After Rays manager Joe Madden came out publicly and said McGee will not be demoted after a poor start, McGee pitched excellent, proving why that decision was made. 12 PC-8 ST (5/10/13)
Texas Rangers
(CL) Elite Joe Nathan (R)âCollected his 10th save of the season Friday night after pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning. Nathan has been everything his fantasy owners could have asked for this season, converting all 10 of his save opportunities, despite have to rely on his defense more than we have grown accustomed to with his decrease in strikeouts so far in 2013. 14 PC-7 ST (5/10/13)
(SU) Tanner Scheppers (R)âPicked up his eighth hold of the season Friday night after pitching a scoreless eighth inning retiring all three batters he faced in order. Scheppers has been great this season, allowing only one earned-run through 18 innings of work and has now emerged as one of the better setup men to own in holds leagues. 12 PC-9 ST (5/10/13)
(MR) Jason Frasor (R)âWas used in the seventh inning Tuesday night allowing one run on  one hit while striking out two batters. The big blow in the inning came via a Aramis Ramirez solo-home run, which was the third home run allowed by Frasor this season in just nine innings of relief. 20 PC-11 ST (5/7/13)
Injuredâ Joakim Soria (Elbow)Toronto Blue Jays(CL) Solid Casey Janssen (R)âCollected his ninth save of the season Tuesday night after pitching yet another 1-2-3 ninth inning. Janssen has now pitched back-to-back days, so it will be interesting to see if the Blue Jays elect to use him today, if needed, considering they were monitoring his workload earlier in the season. 10 PC-7 ST (5/7/13)
(SU) Steve Delabar (R)âWas charged with a blown-save Thursday after allowing one run on two hits in the seventh inning. Delabar served up a solo-home run to Yunel Escobar, which tied the game four runs a piece, eventually leading to a win in the bottom of the 10th inning for the Rays. 21 PC-12 ST (5/9/13)
(MR) Esmil Rogers (R)âPitched 1.2 innings of relief on Wednesday night allowing two runs on two hits and one walk. Rogers needed 34 pitches to get through the appearance, so don't expect him to be available on Thursday. 34 PC-21 ST (5/8/13)
Injuredâ Sergio Santos (Triceps)Continue to Page 2 to view the National League Bullpen Report...
National League Bullpen ReportArizona Diamondbacks(CL) Shaky Heath Bell (R)âRecorded his fourth save of the season Thursday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one hit on only seven pitches thrown. Bell has now earned a save three consecutive days, so he should not be expected to pitch on Friday, leaving either David Hernandez or Matt Reynolds the likely candidates to be used as the team's closer. 7 PC-5 ST (5/9/13)
(SU) David Hernandez (R)âRecorded his first save of the season Friday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning. With Heath Bell unavailable, Hernandez stepped in and got the job done for the Diamondbacks, and could see more saves down the road, considering the team announced the two pitchers are in a timeshare. 14 PC-11 ST (5/10/13)
(MR) Matt Reynolds (L)--Picked up his third hold of the season Thursday after recording the final two outs of the seventh inning. Reynolds has been excellent this season as the Diamondbacks top lefty, and has an outside shot of getting some save chances, with J.J. Putz sidelined, so in extremely deep leagues he is worth stashing. 10 PC-6 ST (5/9/13)
Injured: J.J. Putz (Elbow)
Atlanta Braves
(CL) Elite Craig Kimbrel (R)âRecorded his 11th save of the season Thursday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing only one hit on 15 pitches thrown. Kimbrel had been struggling as of late, so it was nice to see a clean outing from him to try and right the ship. 15 PC-9 ST (5/9/13)
(SU) Eric OâFlaherty (R)âEarned his 12th hold of the season Thursday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning allowing one walk while striking out one batter. O'Flaherty worked quickly in this one, forcing one ground ball out and one fly ball out to go along with his strikeout acting as a bridge between Julio Teheran and Craig Kimbrel. 12 PC-6 ST (5/9/13)
(MR) Jordan Walden (R)âFailed to record an out in the eighth inning allowing two runs on three hits, forcing the Braves to use Eric O'Flaherty to get out of the jam. Walden has now allowed four runs over his last two appearances, and if his struggles continue, he is going to move down the bullpen's pecking order. 11 PC-6 ST (5/6/13)
Injuredâ Jonny Venters (Elbow)
Chicago Cubs
(CL) Shaky Kevin Gregg (R)--Pitched a scoreless ninth inning Wednesday in a non-save situation allowing one walk while striking out two batters. Before the game Cubs management officially labeled Gregg the team's closer moving forward, so even though Kyuji Fujikawa is set to return this weekend, it is his job to lose. 25 PC-15 ST (5/8/13)
(SU) Kyuji Fujikawa (R)--Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Friday in his return from the disabled list, allowing one hit while striking out one batter. The Cubs are going to continue rolling with Kevin Gregg in the ninth inning for the time being, but if he had a few bad outings expect to see Fujikawa back in the closer role. 12 PC-9 ST (5/10/13)
(MR) Carlos Marmol (R)--Earned his third hold of the season Tuesday night after pitching 1.1 innings of scoreless relief It wouldn't be a Marmol outing without allowing base runners, allowing three in this performance, but worked out of the jam by forcing one ground ball out and two fly ball outs to get the job done. 25 PC-15 ST (5/7/13)Cincinnati Reds(CL) Elite Aroldis Chapman (L)âCollected his eighth save of the season Friday despite allowing one run on one hit in the ninth inning. This was Chapman's first appearance since last Saturday, so expect to see more of him this weekend, as long as they Reds keep the scores close. 20 PC-15 ST (5/10/13)
(SU) Jonathan Broxton (R)âPicked up his fifth hold of the season Friday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning allowing one walk while striking out one batter. Broxton has really started to settle down over his last four appearances, allowing zero hits and one walk over that stretch. 13 PC-6 ST (5/10/13)
(MR) Sean Marshall (L)--Failed to record in out in his appearance on Wednesday allowing one run on one hit in the eighth inning. This was the first time Marshall pitched back-to-back days this season, but with a day off on Thursday, he will be reado to go next time the Reds take the field. 4 PC-3 ST (5/8/13)Colorado Rockies(CL) Solid Rafael Betancourt (R)âTook the loss Wednesday night after surrendering one run on two hits and two walks in the ninth inning. This was the first loss by Betancourt this season, and fantasy owners should not worry too much about this appearance, considering he has allowed just three earned-runs all season. 19 PC-8 ST (5/8/13)
(SU) Rex Brothers (L)âPitched a scoreless eighth inning Wednesday night retiring all three batters he faced in order. Brothers has now pitched back-to-back nights, so don;t expect to see him take the field on Thursday. 11 PC-6 ST (5/8/13)
(MR) Wilton Lopez (R)âPitched two scoreless innings of relief on Thursday allowing one hit and on 17 pitches thrown. Despite pitching two innings, Lopez will likely be available Friday considering it was the first time he pitched since last Saturday. 17 PC-15 ST (5/9/13)Los Angeles Dodgers(CL) Shaky Brandon League (R)âTook the loss on Tuesday night after surrendering two runs on one hit and one walk in the ninth inning. League has struggled for most of the season, but has taken the loss in back-to-back appearances, and if he doesn't right the ship soon expect to see Kenley Jansen take over the ninth inning. 27 PC-18 ST (5/7/13)
(SU) Kenley Jansen (R)âTook the loss on Wednesday night after serving up the game-winning home run in the eighth inning. The Dodgers announced Wednesday that they will continue using Brandon League as there closer, so Jansen owners will have to wait for a few more League meltdowns before he gets a bump in fantasy value. 20 PC-14 ST (5/8/13)
(MR) Ronald Belisario (R)âTook the loss on Friday night after surrendering two runs on three his and one walk in the seventh inning. Belisario has now allowed for runs over his last for appearances, and is in real danger of being passed by one of the other members of the Dodgers bullpen in the pecking order. 23 PC-15 ST (5/10/13)Miami Marlins(CL) Shaky Steve Cishek (R)âRecorded his fifth save of the season Friday night after pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning needing only 14 pitches to get the job done. Cishek was great in this one, striking out two batters while forcing one ground ball out, but needs to show more consistency if he wants to keep the job long term. 14 PC-8 ST (5/10/13)
(SU) Mike Dunn (L)âPicked up his sixth hold of the season Friday night after pitching a 1-2-3 seventh inning striking out one batter. Dunn has been great all season in the setup role, and is considered to be next in line if Steve Cishek was to falter. 19 PC-14 ST (5/10/13)
(MR) Jon Rauch (R)âPitched a scoreless ninth inning Sunday in a non-save situation allowing only one hit on nine pitches thrown. After pitching three innings in last Monday's extra inning game, Rauch has only been used for two innings since, so he will likely be available to pitch when the Marlins travel to San Diego. 9 PC-6 ST (5/5/13)Milwaukee Brewers(CL) Solid Jim Henderson (R)âCollected his seventh save of the season Tuesday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one hit on 14 pitches thrown. Henderson bounced back nicely from a loss in his last appearance and has shown no signs of slowing down, so the closer role will be his until he falters, despite rumblings of the Brewers wanting John Axford back in the role. 14 PC-9 ST (5/7/13)
(MR) John Axford (R)âPitched a scoreless eighth inning Friday allowing one hit and two walks while striking out one batter. Axford got himself in a real jam, allowing three base runners, but somehow escaped without allowing any runs, in another lousy outing from this former shutdown closer. 23 PC-13 ST (5/10/13)
(MR) Michael Gonzalez (L)âPitched one inning of relief on Friday allowing one run on one hit and two walks. Gonzalez served up a solo-home run to Brandon Phillips in the inning, which ended the Reds lead to two runs and proved to be enough for the Reds to hold on and defeat the Brewers. 23 PC-10 ST (5/10/13)New York Mets(CL) Shaky Bobby Parnell (R)âPicked up the win Thursday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one hit while striking out one batter. This was Parnell's second win in his last two appearances, bringing his record to 4-0 on the season, so despite his lack of saves, at least he is still helping out in other ways. 18 PC-14 ST (5/9/13)
(SU) Brandon Lyon (R)âPitched 1.1 innings of relief Thursday allowing one hit on just 11 pitches thrown. Lyon was charged with a blown-save in the outing, despite pitching well, so don't look too much into the scoring decision. 11 PC-9 ST (5/9/13)
(MR) LaTroy Hawkins (R)--Was charged with a blown-save Thursday after allowing a game-tying home run to Pedro Alvarez in the eighth inning. Hawkins has now pitched back-to-back days, and will likely be unavailable out of the Mets bullpen for the second game of their current series. 14 PC-10 ST (5/9/13)
Injuredâ Frank Francisco (Elbow)Philadelphia Phillies(CL) Elite Jonathan Papelbon (R)âPitched a scoreless ninth inning on Tuesday night in a non-save situation retiring all three batters he faced in order. Apparently the Phillies don't want to save Papelbon for save situations, now pitching back-to-back days, but he has kept him pitch counts low so he should be good to go for  Wednesday. 14 PC-10 ST (5/7/13)
(SU) Mike Adams (R)âTook the loss Friday night after serving up the game-winning home run to Miguel Montero in the eighth inning. With this appearance Adams falls to 1-3 on the season with a 3.00 earned-run average over 15 innings of work. 11 PC-6 ST (5/10/13)
(MR) Antonio Bastardo (L)âWas charged with a blown-save Friday night after allowing one hit on 16 pitches in the seventh inning. Bastardo has only pitched two innings dating back to last Friday, so expect to see him used more over the weekend. 16 PC-11 ST (5/10/13)Pittsburgh Pirates(CL) Elite Jason Grilli (R)âRecorded his 14th save of the season Friday night after retiring the only batter he faced in the ninth inning on three pitches. Jose Contreras started the ninth inning, but allowed two quick runs and had the game-tying runners aboard, but Grilli was able to clean up his mess and secure the victory for the Pirates in a non-traditional way. 3 PC-2 ST (5/10/13)
(SU) Mark Melancon (R)âPitched a scoreless eighth inning Thursday allowing one walk while striking out one batter. Melancon continued his amazing run in this contest, needing only 12 pitches to work yet another scoreless inning of relief, and should now be considered one of the top setup men in all of baseball. 12 PC-8 ST (5/9/13)
(MR) Jose Contreras (R)--Was used to close out the ninth inning Friday night in a non-save situation allowing two runs on three hits and one walk. He failed to make it through the inning, needing Jason Grilli to record the final out, but it is too early for the team to give up on him considering it is only his third appearance of the season. 23 PC-10 ST (5/10/13)San Diego Padres(CL) Solid Huston Street (R)âCollected his eighth save of the season Wednesday after pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning striking out two batters. Street is now a perfect 8-for-8 in save opportunities this season, as he continues to get the job done despite allowing six earned-runs through 14 innings of work. 18 PC-12 ST (5/8/13)
(SU) Luke Gregerson (R)âEarned his eighth hold of the season Tuesday night after pitching a 1-2-3 eighth inning. Gregerson has been great so far this season and is on pace to have his best season in his career, so if for some reason he is available in a holds league, pick him up. 11 PC-6 ST (5/7/13)
(MR) Dale Thayer (R)âTook the loss on Friday night after allowing four runs (three earned) on three hits in the seventh inning. Thayer failed to record an out in the appearance, blowing a sold start from Edinson Volquez, so hopefully he will be able to put this behind him and contribute better next time out. 18 PC-12 ST (5/10/13)San Francisco Giants(CL) Elite Sergio Romo (R)âWas charged with his second blown-save of the season Wednesday after allowing two runs on two hits and one walk in the ninth inning. Romo has only had two bad outings this season, so expect him to bounce back form this one just like he did the last time. 20 PC-13 ST (5/8/13)
(SU) Santiago Casilla (R)âEarned his sixth hold of the season Wednesday after retiring the final two batters of the eighth inning. Casilla struck out both batters on just eight pitches thrown, as he continues to be a solid contributor in leagues that count holds as a category. 8 PC-5 ST (5/8/13)
(MR) Javier Lopez (L)â Pitched 0.2 innings of relief on Friday night needing only two pitches to close out the game. Lopez forced each batter to put the ball in play on their first pitch, leading to one of the shortest outings you will see from him this season. 2 PC-2 ST (5/10/13)
St. Louis Cardinals
(CL) Solid Edward Mujica (R)âEarned his ninth save of the season Wednesday after pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning needing only nine pitches to get the job done. Mujica is now 9-for-9 in save opportunities since taking over the closer role, and will Jason Motte out for the season, his job will become permanent. 9 PC-7 ST (5/8/13)
(SU) Trevor Rosenthal (R)--Picked up his ninth hold of the season Wednesday after recording the forst out of the eighth inning. Rosenthal only faced two batters in the appearance, walking one and striking out the other on eight pitches, but it was enough to benefit his fantasy owners. 8 PC-3 ST (5/8/13)
(MR) Fernando Salas (R)--Picked up his second hold of the season Saturday after pitching 0.2 innings of relief allowing one run on two hits. He was asked to get the final two outs of the seventh inning, and did so, just not in orderly fashion. 11 PC-9 ST (5/4/13)
Injuredâ Jason Motte (Elbow)Washington Nationals(CL) Elite Rafael Soriano (R)âCollected his 12th save Thursday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one hit while striking out one batter. Soriano has now pitched back-to-back days, but should still be available to pitch if a save situation arises on Friday, due to his low pitch counts. 17 PC-12 ST (5/9/13)
(SU) Drew Storen (R)âEarned his sixth hold of the season Thursday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning allowing one hit while striking out one batter. Like his teammate Tyler Clippard, Storen has been inconsistent thus far, but over his last few outings, he has looked like the pitcher they Nationals expected to get when drafting him in the first round of the 2009 MLB Draft. 15 PC-9 ST (5/9/13)
(SU) Tyler Clippard (R)âPicked up his fifth hold of the season Wednesday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning. Clippard made it interesting by allowing two walks, as he continues to deal with command issues, but got the job done, escaping the inning unharmed. 34 PC-21 ST (5/8/13)Matthew Beck is a Fantasy Sports Columnist for Rotoinfo.com.
