DraftKings Recommended Lineup May 4, 2013 (Late Games)Ready to turn $5 into $50k? @DraftKings is giving you the chance now, and it’s through one-day fantasy baseball games http://bit.ly/17fdiMCAll lineups are based off of a $50,000 salary cap featured at DraftKings, you best option in daily fantasy sports gaming. Lineups consist of a two pitchers, one catcher, one first baseman, one second baseman, one third baseman, one shortstop and three outfielders. All scoring and contest rules for DraftKings contests can be found here.P: Patrick Corbin (ARI) @ SD--$8,300--If you are like me, then you won't want to spend the big bucks on guys like Max Scherzer or David Price tonight, rather try to find value in the middle tier of starting pitchers. Considering how well Patrick Corbin has pitched this season, it is tough not to go with him tonight, especially playing at the pitcher-friendly confines of Petco Park. Corbin has allowed only seven earned-runs over his first five starts of the season, including playing in both Yankee Stadium and Miller Park, which are both hitter-friendly. The Padres are ranked 20th in runs scored in all of baseball this season, so there is a good chance Corbin will be able to keep him hot streak alive tonight and help you win some coin.P: Jeremy Guthrie (KC) vs. CWS--$7,700--Before the 2013 season, I would have never recommended starting Jeremy Guthrie in a daily fantasy baseball contest, but after a hot start, it is hard to look last him tonight. After examining batter vs. pitcher statistics, it was to my surprise how well Guthrie has been against the White Sox hitters over his career. The White Sox hitters are batting .200 lifetime against Guthrie, which is 43-for-215 for you stat junkies out there. Considering the other options at the starting pitcher position, his career numbers against this opponent have me sold. Don't waster your money on the big names when you could o[potentially have the save result from someone almost half price.C: Mike Napoli (BOS) @ TEX--$5,800--Despite going 0-for-3 in his return to Arlington last night, I am going to pony up the big bucks and take one of the highest priced hitters on the board. Mike Napoli has little experience against opposing pitcher Alexi Ogando (0-for-4 lifetime), but considering his production against right-handed pitching, it is tough to ignore him tonight. Napoli has five home runs and 28 RBI against right-handed pitchers this season, and playing in his old stadium, where he had much success, he should be able to find a way to produce for both the Red Sox and for those using him in daily contests tonight. It is also a plus to be able to plug him into the catcher slot, despite not actually catching, so take advantage of the loophole if you have the money to spend.1B: Freddie Freeman (ATL) vs. NYM--$4,600--Going up against the Jonathon Niese Saturday night could mean fantasy success for those willing to spend some money on this struggling youngster, considering how well he ash hit him in his young career. Freddie Freeman is 6-for-19 lifetime against Niese with a double and two home runs, which is good enough for me to consider starting him tonight. With his slow start since coming off the disabled list, his price tag has taken a hit, making him a value so take advantage of it while you can.2B: Ian Kinsler (TEX) vs. BOS--$5,300--Coming off of his third multi-hit performance over his last four games, should be good enough to want to start him tonight, but when evaluating his career statistics against John Lackey, it makes it even easier to pony up the money. Ian Kinsler is 14-for-32 lifetime against Lackey with three home runs and eight RBI, which has resulted in a .438 batting average. So when you combine how well he has been lately, with the batter vs. pitcher matchup, this should be a no brainer for you daily fantasy leaguers.SS: Jhonny Peralta (DET) @ HOU--$3,000--For some reason Jhonny Peralta has not been receiving much love from daily fantasy sites despite collecting three multi-hit games out of his last 10 contests. The one down side to rostering Peralta is that he bats near the end of the Tigers lineup, which takes away at-bats, but at his current price he is worth using tonight. Houston stater Lucas Harrell has been pitching well this season, but he has yet to face a lineup like this, so if you are trying to go cheap at this position like me, considering Peralta.3B: Nolan Arenado (COL) vs. TB--$2,000--Collecting his second three-hit game in his first five games Friday night, Nolan Arenado is living up  to the hype thus far. The opposition won't be easy tonight, going up against David Price, but coming in at $2,000 his upside is worth starting alone. There is clearly not another player on the board that could give you what Arenado can at his price, no matter who he is facing. Using him tonight will give you flexibility at other positions that you normally wouldn't be able to have, so roll the dice and go with this high-upside youngster tonight.OF: Justin Upton (ATL) vs. NYM--$5,400--Despite having up one hit over his last four games, Justin Upton is the kind of player you try to get in to your fantasy lineup whenever you can afford to do so. He has the ability to hit it out of the ballpark at any given time, and now has 12 home runs on the season. Upton is 5-for-11 lifetime against opposing pitcher Jonathon Niese which is good enough for me to roll with the Braves big time slugger.OF: Daivd Murphy (TEX) vs. BOS--$4,400--Considering how bad John Lackey has been over his career in Arlington, it is easy to load up on Rangers hitters for tonight's contest. Davis Murphy is 7-For-16 lifetime against Lackey, with three extra base hits and three free passes. Unlike the rest of the Rangers lineup, Murphy has struggled through the early part of the season, but this could be the game that helps him turn this around and get his season going in the right direction.OF: Andy Dirks (DET) @ HOU--$3,500--After spending a nice portion of my salary cap on both Mike Napoli and Justin Upton, it was hard to find a cheap option to fill out the rest of my outfield, but Andy Dirks could be the answer. Considering his surrounding cast, and where he has been batting in the Tigers lineup as of late, he is a solid option at his cheap price. Dirks has yet to face off against Astros starter Luca Harrell, like most of the Tigers roster, but 12 of his 13 hits have come against right-handed pitchers.Total Salary: $50,000To make setting your Fantasy Baseball lineup easy, be sure to utilize RotoInfo.com’s new MLB Lineup Grids, now featuring daily fantasy baseball salaries from DraftKings and others to help you compare prices.Matthew Beck is a Fantasy Sports Columnist for Rotoinfo.com.
