DraftKings Recommended Lineup May 18, 2013 (Late Games)Ready to turn $5 into $50k? @DraftKings is giving you the chance now, and it’s through one-day fantasy baseball games http://bit.ly/17fdiMCAll lineups are based off of a $50,000 salary cap featured at DraftKings, you best option in daily fantasy sports gaming. Lineups consist of a two pitchers, one catcher, one first baseman, one second baseman, one third baseman, one shortstop and three outfielders. All scoring and contest rules for DraftKings contests can be found here.P: Jordan Zimmermann (WAS) @ SD--$9,100--There isn't a hotter pitcher in baseball other than Jordan Zimmermann, and tonight doesn't look like the night he will cool down. Zimmermann has factored into the decision in all eight of his starts this season, sitting on a 7-1 record, allowing only 11 earned-runs. Tonight he faces off against the Padres in the pitcher-friendly Petco Park, where he is 1-0 in two starts over the last three seasons. Considering the lack of experience against Zimmermann, the Padres offense will likely have a tough time with him tonight, and on paper, this looks like it will be another gem for the current NL Cy Young Award front runner.P: Brandon McCarthy (ARI) @ MIA--$8,200--Due to lack of cheap pitching options for tonight's contests, I had to choose a pitcher based strictly off of his opposition. Brandon McCarthy hasn't looked good this season, but in his last start he went eight strong innings of shutout baseball, allowing seven hits and zero walks. Will his scoreless innings streak continue? Probably not, but considering the fact that the Marlins have scored just 11 runs over their last six games, give me hope that McCarthy will be able to keep the Diamondbacks in this game and give a good return on investment.C: Yadier Molina (STL) vs. MIL--$3,900--Yadier Molina may have just four hits in his last five games, but tonight's matchup against Marco Estrada is one worth noting. In 15 career at-bats against Estrada, Molina has recorded eight hits, including one home run and four RBI. The Cardinals offense tends to turn it up a notch when going up against the Brewers, considering their rivalry over the last few seasons, and tonight is a perfect opportunity to exploit this matchup. Coming in as the sixth highest priced catcher tonight, Molina has a great chance of exceeding his current price tag.1B: Billy Butler (KC) @ OAK--$4,000--There aren't many players out there swinging a hotter bat than Billy Butler, after early season struggles lowered his price tag throughout the daily fantasy sports industry. Butler has recorded eighth hits over his last four games, and has produced well against left-handed pitching, despite the low batting average, which has increased significantly over the course of the Royals current road trip. There may be better options out there at first base tonight, but taking price into consideration, it is hard to overlook Butler and his power potential.2B: Matt Carpenter (STL) vs. MIL--$3,800--Despite recording five multi-hit games over his last 10 contests, Matt Carpenter is still not getting the credit he deserves through the daily fantasy baseball community. Carpenter is coming off of a 3-for-5 night, with a double and two runs scored, and has continued to limit his strikeouts, which is a big turn on in daily contests (3 K over last 10 games). As discussed in Yadier Molina's breakdown, the Cardinals tend to put up the pace when going up against the Brewers, so if you have the salary cap space, give Carpenter a look to round out your infield positions (also classifies at 3B on DraftKings).SS: Jhonny Peralta (DET) @ TEX--$3,800--There really isn't much more I can say about Jhonny Peralta other than what I have been saying for the last few weeks. He continues to get the job done despite being a unattractive play in daily contests and now is finally starting to see a bump in his salary. He is no longer a value play, but more of a reliable veteran, batting in an excellent lineup, which allows him to see a lot of good pitches to hit. Not to mention, he has five multi-hit games over his last 10 contests, so role with him while he is hot.3B: Ryan Zimmerman (WAS) @ SD--$3,800--After a slow start to the season, mixed in with a trip to the disabled list, Zimmerman has finally started to come around, and currently has a six-game hitting streak. Zimmerman was 2-for-4 last night with a home run and two runs scored, which was his second multi-hit game the last four nights. The Nationals offense is starting to really click, and now is the time to take advantage of Zimmerman's low price tag, before he returns to the All-Star level we have grown accustomed to seeing from him over the years.OF: Andrew McCutchen (PIT) vs. HOU--$5,000--It may have took a few weeks for Andrew McCutchen to finally get going, but now there is no one who can stop him, as he continues to rake at a high clip. McCutchen has gone 5-for-10 at the plate the last two nights, contributing in all fantasy categories. Although he has never faced Astros start Erik Bedard, the way he is swinging the bat make me have faith that he will figure him out and take advantage of his diminishing left-arm. Surprisingly  McCutchen is still not one of the top priced outfielders, so it should be relatively easy to get him in daily lineups today.OF: Nelson Cruz (TEX) vs. DET--$4,600--It is really starting to warm up in Texas, which usually translates into increased production from the Rangers offense, especially Nelson Cruz. He has now hit four home runs over his last 10 games, while driving in 10 RBI, including six in the last four days. Cruz has recorded one hit in two at-bats against Anibal Sanchez in his career, which isn't really a factor, but if his hot streak continues, Sanchez fastball could end up in the outfield seats in a blink of an eye.OF: Norichika Aoki (MIL) @ STL--$3,700--The Brewers may be slumping, but Norichika Aoki has been on fire, recording seven multi-hit games over his last 10 contests, with four of those being of the three-hit variety. Cardinals starter Lance Lynn has been tough to say the least, but it is going to take a lot to cool off the bat of Aoki. At his current price he is definitely someone to take a look at for tonight, and with any luck he will turn in another game of two or more hits for his fantasy owners.Total Salary: $49,900Always pay close attention to the weather!
