DraftKings Recommended Lineup April 27, 2013 (Late Games)Ready to turn $5 into $50k? @DraftKings is giving you the chance now, and it’s through one-day fantasy baseball games http://bit.ly/17fdiMCAll lineups are based off of a $50,000 salary cap featured at DraftKings, you best option in daily fantasy sports gaming. Lineups consist of a two pitchers, one catcher, one first baseman, one second baseman, one third baseman, one shortstop and three outfielders. All scoring and contest rules for DraftKings contests can be found here.P: Felix Doubront (BOS) vs. HOU--$10,100--Although Felix Doubront has yet to face many of the hitters in the Astros lineup, tonight's matchup is very intriguing. As a team, the Astros have struck out 232 times in the month of April, which ranks them dead last in all of baseball. That should work in Doubront's favor tonight as he is averaging well over one strikeout per nine innings pitched through his first three starts of the season. His opposing pitcher, Brad Peacock, was lit up in his last outing against the Mariners, allowing seven runs in 4.1 innings. That was against the Mariners, so considering the power in the Red Sox offense, Doubront will get a ton of run support if Peacock pitches the way he did his last time out. His price for tonight is usually only reserved for the top tier pitchers, but this matchup is so good it is hard to look passed it, so pony up the money and you shouldn't be dissappointed.P: Travis Wood (CHC) @ MIA--$5,000--Since I went with the second most expensive pitcher on the board tonight, I needed to find a value pitcher that could potentially turn out a solid game based off of the matchup. Travis Wood is exactly what I was looking for so now I will not have to sacrifice too much on my offense. Wood is matched up against the Marlins, who rank last in runs scored in all of baseball, with only 59 runs scored and we are almost through April. That is just pathetic. Considering how well Wood has pitched this season (allowing three or less runs through four starts), he should be able to keep his current pace and keep him team well in reach of earning a victory tonight.C: Jonathan Lucroy (MIL) @ LAD--$3,900--After a rough start to the season, Lucroy has turned things around and is now worth examining when setting daily fantasy lineups. He has recorded three multi-hit games over his last 10 games, including a 2-for-4 night in Friday's loss to the Dodgers. Lucroy has had most of his success against lefties this season, but the Dodgers will be sending Stephen Fife to the mound Saturday, who had mixed results in his only start of the season. Also, the Brewers have been slotting Lucroy in the cleanup spot in the absence of Aramis Ramirez, which adds fantasy value to anyone, so he is worth starting tonight if you can't afford a top flight catcher tonight.1B: Eric Hosmer (KC) vs. CLE--$4,300--After a rainout Friday night, the Indians announced that Ubaldo Jimenez will have his start pushed back to Saturday, which is great news for Eric Hosmer. In eight career at-bats against Jimenez, Hosmer is 5-for-8 with two home runs and three RBI, not too mention he has walked three times. On paper this is a recipe for success, considering he also notched three multi-hit games over his last four contests. Outside of Hosmer there isn't much value in the night cap, so as long as history repeats itself, which is normally does, he should turn in solid production tonight.2B: Kyle Seager (SEA) vs. LAA--$3,700--The Mariners haven't been playing the best baseball lately, but Kyle Seager has been a bright spot in their lineup over the last two weeks. Currently, Seager is riding a 15-game hit streak that has featured five multi-hit games, including three home runs and 11 RBI. He has yet to record an at-bat against Angles starts Joe Blanton, but is hitting .350 against right-handed pitchers through 60 at-bats. That is a pretty big sample size, so considering his current price tag he is worth using tonight in the hopes he can continue his hit streak and help out those who draft him on the way.SS: Alcides Escobar vs. CLE--$4,400--There isn't many pitchers out there than Alcides Escobar isn't hitting these days, as he continues to rack up multi-hit games. In his last six games, Escobar has five multi-hit games, which has helped the Royals win four of their last six games. While most of his success comes against lefties, he has fared well against right-handed opposition over his last few games. Past experience against Ubaldo Jimenez suggests avoiding Escobar, but he is just a different hitter now, and the previous at-bats should be taken with a grain of salt. Outside of Troy Tulowitzki, there really isn't many options to role with tonight, so Escobar is worth a shot if you don't want to pony up premium salary.3B: Pablo Sandoval @ SD--$4,700--I tend to avoid hitters playing in Petco Park, considering the ballpark dimensions, but Pablo Sandoval's career stats against opposing pitcher Eric Stults. In 13 career at-bats, Sandoval has recorded eight hits and two walks, totaling two extra base hits and three RBI. that is good enough for me to start him tonight,  although he is hitless over his last two games. With Stults trending in the wrong direction, look for Sandoval and the rest of the Giants to take advantage of his mistakes, leading to solid production from their offensive squad.OF: Jacoby Ellsbury (BOS) vs. HOU--$5,900--Recent trends indicate whenever Houston comes to town start players from the opposite teams. That is certainly the case Saturday when the Astros play at Fenway Park against the Red Sox, which should turn into a heavily offensive affair. Jacoby Ellsbury has now hit safely in all but three games this season, including a 2-for-5 night in Friday's win. He will be facing off against Brad Peacock, who is far, but has yet to record an at-bat against him. Unfortunately for Peacock, Ellsbury is hitting .343 against right-handed pitchers with nine extra base hits. This game could get ugly, and if it does, you best bet Ellbury's name will be found in the play-by-play early and often in this contest.OF: Nick Swisher (CLE) @ KC--$4,600--The matchup between Nick Swisher and Jeremy Guthrie may be the most lopsided of them all today, and daily fantasy leaguers should take note. In 29 career at-bats against Guthrie, Swisher is 13-for-29 with two home runs and nine RBI. That is almost too good to be true. Swisher has been slumping lately, but this should be the contest in which he awakens and helps not only the Indians, but those who put faith in him in daily contests as well.OF: Drew Stubbs (CLE) @ KC--$3,400--After being left with little money to spend, I decided to role with Drew Stubbs, although he has been batting in the nine-hole as of late. Stubbs has finally started to show some patience at the plate, and with patience comes better performances. There is a good chance that Jeremy Guthrie gets beat around in tonight's game, which should help him reach four at-bats despite being slotted last in the order. If you have more money it would be wise to target a higher touted player, but if you are like me and want to role the dice, Stubbs is not a bad play.Total Salary: $50,000To make setting your Fantasy Baseball lineup easy, be sure to utilize RotoInfo.com’s new MLB Lineup Grids, now featuring daily fantasy baseball salaries from DraftKings and others to help you compare prices.Matthew Beck is a Fantasy Sports Columnist for Rotoinfo.com.
