DraftKings Recommended Lineup April 13, 2013 (Late Games)Ready to turn $5 into $50k? @DraftKings is giving you the chance now, and it’s through one-day fantasy baseball games http://bit.ly/17fdiMC

All lineups are based off of a $50,000 salary cap featured at DraftKings, you best option in daily fantasy sports gaming. Lineups consist of a two pitchers, one catcher, one first baseman, one second baseman, one third baseman, one shortstop and three outfielders. All scoring and contest rules for DraftKings contests can be found here.P: Jose Fernandez (MIA) vs. PHI--$5,000--A lot of daily fantasy baseball players will be using Garrett Richards, considering he is taking on the Astros, but I decided to roster an even cheap option in Jose Fernandez. Although Fernandez has drawn a tough matchup against Cole Hamels, I feel he could still have success against the Phillies lineup, which has never faced him. If you factor in recent struggles of Hamels and the unknown going against a strikeout-prone Phillies lineup, this is a very sneaky play tonight.P: Johnny Cueto (CIN) @ PIT--$9,300--The Reds may be coming off of a loss, but that doesn't mean we should be fading anyone on the team, even through they are playing on the road. Johnny Cueto is off to a great start once again this season, and is 6-2 with a 1.81 earned-run average against the Pirates dating back to 2010. In addition to his solid statline, there isn't a Pirates batter that has a .300 batting average or better lifetime against the Reds Ace. All signs point to a big night so I strongly recommend plainy the extra money for Cueto tonight.C: Wilin Rosario (COL) @ SD--$4,100--The catcher position is rather weak in the night caps, so when this is the case, I role will whoever I feel I can trust and Wilin Rosario fits the bill. Rosario is 3-for-10 lifetime against Edinson Volquez  with one home run and two runs batted-in with two free passes. Those stats are respectable enough, and if Volquez implodes early on, which he always does, Rosario should be able to capitalize and take advantage of his mistakes.1B: Adrian Gonzalez (LAD) @ ARI--$4,400--Although Adrian Gonzalez has a lifetime .125 batting average against Ian Kennedy, I feel that could change for him in tonight's game. Since 2010, Gonzalez is a .357-hitter at Chase Field in 42 at-bats with three home runs and eight runs batted-in. With a few months of National League pitching under his belt once again, Gonzalez is settling in nicely and we should start seeing the skill set the Red Sox traded for following the 2010 season.2B: Ian Kinsler (TEX) @ SEA--$4,900--It is always nice when a batter has a history against a certain pitcher, and that is the case when talking about Ian Kinsler's matchup today. In his career, Kinsler is 10-for-24 against Joe Saunders with three home runs, two doubles and eight runs batted-in. Not only does Kinsler have great numbers against Saunders, but he has also recorded multiple hits in three of his last four games. There isn't a better option at second base other than Kinsler, so spend the extra money and you shouldn't be disappointed.SS: Alcides Escobar (KC) vs. TOR--$4,300--Similar to the catcher position, the shortstop position is rather weak for tonight's contests, so drafting Alcides Escobar was an easy choice to make. Through his first 10 games, Escobar has recorded at least one hit in eight of those games, including three multi-hit games. He faces off against R.A. Dickey in this matchup, but the way he has pitched since going north of the boarder, there is no reason to fade away from last year's NL Cy Young Award winner.3B: Mark DeRosa (TOR) @ KC--$3,500--When you draft the top players at a few positions, you tend to be stuck trying to find any cheap option to fill the gaps. Due to the Jose Reyes injury, Maicer Izturis will slide into the starting shortstop position for the Blue Jays, meaning Mark DeRosa will start at the hot corner, so no worrying needed about who will start. DeRosa has recorded a hit in three straight games and has five runs batted-in on the season on one home run and tow doubles. While I don't recommend using him if you have more money to spend, he can still has a chance to outperforming him price tag.OF: Jose Bautista (TOR) @ KC--$5,300--It is not wise to start most hitter against a pitcher of James Shields' caliber, but that is not the case for Jose Bautista. In 25 career at-bats, Bautista has a .320 batting average against Shields with three home runs and four runs batted-in. Although Bautista and the rest of the Blue Jays have been slumping, it is hard to go against those career numbers against Shields, but if you need one more stat to get him in your lineup, I have one. Over the last three seasons, Bautista has a .286 batting average at Kauffman Stadium with two home runs and 11 runs batted-in. I could keep going but that would just be overkill.OF: Shin Soo-Choo (CIN) @ PIT--$4,700--As most of you know, drafting consistent players is the key to winning daily fantasy contests, and Shin-Soo Choo is as consistent as they come. In his first season with the Reds, Choo has been everything the team could have asked for and then some (well except for his fielding, but that doesn't matter to us). Choo has recorded six multi-hit games through his first 10 games, and has gone yard three times as the team's leadoff hitter. He has had a problem with strikeouts (9 K in 10 games), but the good outweighs the bad when you considering all his other stats. As long as you have the salary to afford him, Choo is in line for another big night in the daily fantasy world.OF: Nelson Cruz (TEX) @ SEA--$4,300--Like his teammate Ian Kinsler, Nelson Cruz has a great career statline against Joe Saunders, and at his price, is a nice play for tonight's contests. In 20 career at-bats against Saunders, Cruz has a .300 batting average with two home runs and three runs batted-in. Cruz has just three hits in his last six games, which has lowered the price you will have to pay for him, so he comes at a value despite the solid career stats against the Mariners lefty.Total Salary: $49,800To make setting your Fantasy Baseball lineup easy, be sure to utilize RotoInfo.com’s new MLB Lineup Grids.Matthew Beck is a Fantasy Sports Columnist for Rotoinfo.com.
