Draft Kings Recommended Lineup April 6, 2013 (Late Games)All lineups are based off of a $50,000 salary cap featured at Draft Kings, you best option in daily fantasy sports gaming. Lineups consist of a two pitchers, one catcher, one first baseman, one second baseman, one third baseman, one shortstop and three outfielders. All scoring and contest rules for Draft Kings contests can be found here.P: Julio Teheran (ATL) vs. CHC--$5,000--Outside of Clayton Kershaw who is way overpriced, tonight's pitchers don't scream "must-start", so I decided to go a cheaper route when drafting my pitchers. Teheran come at a very cheap price, and considering his excellent Spring, he is worth a shot on tonight against the Cubs. Through their first four games, the Cubs rank 14th in the National League in runs scored and have yet to breakout of their shell. The Braves on the other hand rank 4th in runs scored and have put up at least four runs in three of their first four games. I know value when I see it, and this is definitely one of those instances.P: Bartolo Colon (OAK) @ HOU--$6,800--Colon is coming off of his 50-game suspension and pitching in a regular season game for the first time since mid-August of last season. His first start couldn't have come at a better time than when the Athletics take on their new divisional foe in the Astros. As a team, the Astros have struck out 56 times through their first four games, and if you do the math, that is well over 10 punch outs per game. If Colon can get it going early, he should be able to pitch deep into this game racking up the stats on his way to early a victory.C: Willin Rosario (COL) vs. SD--$4,600--Rosario enters Saturday as the highest priced catcher for tonight's contests, but since I went cheap on pitching, I can afford to pay a higher price for my hitters. Rosario has his a home run on back-to-back games and has a .500 BA through his first three games. Playing at Coors Field is always a plus, and considering the pitching matchup, Tyson Ross, Rosario is a must-start as long as you can afford the higher, yet reasonable priced, price tag.1B: Ryan Howard (PHI) vs. KC--$4,300--Over the last two games Howard has started to look better at the plate, including a two-hit game in yesterdays contest. Tonight he is matched up against Luis Mendoza (RHP), which could result in a big game for Howard and the rest of the Phillies. Mendoza posted a 4-5 record with a 3.95 ERA on the road in 2012, but allowed six long balls, and playing in Philadelphia, the long ball could really hurt him and help those who take a chance on Howard.2B: Chase Utley (PHI) vs. KC--$4,500--Utley is on a tear to start the 2013 season and has been the best hitter in the Phillies lineup through their first four games, with a .467 BA, 1 HR and 6 RBI. He appears to be 100 percent healthy for the first time in years, so you might as well ride him now before that changes. As discussed in Ryan Howard's write-up, the team has a favorable matchup against Luis Mendoza, and at his current price tag, you really can't go wrong.SS: Troy Tulowitzki (COL) vs. SD--$4,400--I am really happy with my decision to go cheap on pitching tonight, after seeing I had enough money left over to get Tulowitzki in my lineup. Having recorded at least one hit in each of his first four games, Tulowitzki seems poised for another great season, but more importantly, for another big night in Denver. Although he has yet to face Tyson Ross, Tulowitzki hit .333 in 129 at-bats against right-handed pitchers in 2012, so the matchup is definitely in his favor tonight.3B: Martin Prado (ARI) @ MIL--$4,400--Although Prado wasn't my first choice, after the news Aramis Ramirez might be headed to the disabled-list, he was quickly inserted into my starting lineup. Through four games, Prado has recorded six hits, including two multi-hit games on his way to a .300 batting average. The matchup is favorable considering Prado hits well against both righties and lefties, so at his current price, you really can't go wrong with this pick.OF: Chris Davis (BAL) vs. MIN--$4,000--Is there anyone hotter in baseball today than Davis? I think not, but he is still being undervalued in the daily fantasy world, so might as well take advantage of it. So what if he never faced Vance Worley. Davis is hitting everyone right now, and there are no signs he is going to slow down, until then he is going to be in my lineups, so you are either with me or without me.OF: Jason Heyward (ATL) vs. CHC--$4,700--Heyward may not me the hottest hitter on his team, but playing at home tonight against a below-average right-handed pitcher, this could be his coming out party. In 2012, Heyward had a .300 batting average against right-handed pitchers, and on top of that, he had a .278 batting average in night games. With all the attention paid to Justin Upton, all deserved, it has lessened the value of Heyward in daily fantasy baseball, so now is the time to take a shot on him.OF: Carlos Gonzalez (COL) vs. SD--$5,700--Gonzalez, at home, is one of the best choices you can ever make when talking about daily fantasy baseball. Through his first four games, Gonzalez has totaled three multi-hit games, including two home runs. He went 0-3 in last night's contest, but that is going to happen every once and a while. As I in his teammates write-ups, Tyson Ross is not going to be able to contain this potent lineup, so it would be wise to stack up on the Rockies tonight, but if you can only afford one, CarGo is your guy.Total Salary: $49,400To make setting your Fantasy Baseball lineup easy, be sure to utilize RotoInfo.com’s new MLB Lineup Grids.Matthew Beck is a Fantasy Sports Columnist for Rotoinfo.com.
