Fantasy Baseball Daily League Sleepers and Value Plays for May 29th

Today's Discounts:

• P John Lackey Red Sox ($6,400, 18.2% of cap at Fan Duel - Play Now): Lackey has not allowed a run in his last two starts (13 IP).  And outside of getting lit up for five runs on May 14th, Lackey has limited teams to two or fewer earned runs in five of his seven starts this season.  (Game Time 10:15 pm est)
• P David Phelps Yankees ($10,750, 10.1% of cap at  Draft Day - Play Now ): If you are not comfortable taking a chance on Lackey versus a Phillies team that has a lot of  left-handed/switch hitters in it's lineup, then consider Yankees David Phelps. Phelps will face a Mets team that has scored the second fewest runs of any team in all of baseball in the month of May and who's starter, Jeremy Hefner, has yet to win a game. (Game Time: 7:05 pm est).
• OF Seth Smith Athletics ($7,237, 7.2% of cap at Draft Street - Play Now ): Smith is 9-for-33 (.273) with three home runs and two doubles off Tim Lincecum in his career. (Game Time 10:15 pm est)
• OF Michael Cuddyer Rockies ($9,750, 9.8% of cap at Draft Day - Play Now): Cuddyer has been a solid source of Fantasy production since returning from the disabled list: 7-for-16 with four doubles and a home run and gets the struggling lefty Eric Bedard at home. (Game Time 8:40 pm est)
• OF Tori Hunter Tigers ($8,103, 8.1% of cap at Draft Street - Play Now): Tori Hunter is 9-for-33 with two home runs and three walks in his career versus A.J. Burnett. (Game Time 7:05 pm est)
• 1B Jason Giambi Indians ($2,300, 3.8% of cap at Fan Throwdown - Play Now): The LHH Giambi is batting fifth tonight in the Indians lineup between Nick Swisher and his .368 OBP and ahead of Carlos Santana. So, Giambi could have some RBI opportunities as well as see some good pitches to hit. And, if history tells us anything, Giambi is 6-for-18 (.333) with three home runs of vs the RHP Bronson Arroyo, Giambi could be in for a big night.  (Game Time 7:05 pm est)
• 1B Mitch Moreland Rangers ($7,400, 7.4% of cap at Draft Day - Play Now). Moreland has cooled off some of late, but could get back on track tonight against the RHP Brandon McCarthy who he is 6-for-15 (.400) with two home runs and a double of off in his career. (Game Time 8:05 pm est)
• 2B Matt Carpenter Cardinals ($98,000, 9.8% of cap at Daily Joust - Play Now): The rice is borderline value, but consider the LHH Carpenter is hitting .417 (10-for-24) with a home run, and a double the last seven days and will face a righty in Luis Mendoza. Lefties are hitting .310 against Mendozza on the season. (Game Time: 8:15 pm est)
• Late Add: 2B Jedd Gyorko Padres ($6.450, 6.5% of cap at Draft Day - Play Now): I had avoided recommending Gyorko figuring this rookie of the year contender would have a higher price tag than aroung 7% of cap. (Game Time 10:10 pm est)
• 3B Juan Francisco Braves ($3,900, 6.9% of cap at Fan Throwdown - Play Now ): The RHP Esmil Rodgers will be making his first start of the season after pitching in a long relief role for the Jays. Francisco is hitting .270 vs. RHP with all five of his home runs coming off righties. (Game Time 8:10  pm est)
• Late Add: Nolan Arenado Rockies ($7,256, 7.3% of cap at Draft Street - Play Now): At Coors vs Bedard sign me up. (Game Time: 8:40 pm est).
• SS Asdrubal Cabrera Indians ($77,000, 7.7% of cap at Daily Joust - Play Now):  The switch-hitting Cabrera is just 2-for-10 versus Bronson Arroyo, but both hits were home runs. (Game Time: 7:05 pm est).
• If you want to save even more money, again, consider SS Nick Franklin Mariners ($5,850, 5.9% of cap at Draft Day - Play Now ) (Game Time 10:10 pm est)
• C Chris Iannetta ($65,000, 6.5% of cap at Daily Joust - Play Now): The RHH Iannetta gets the LHP Chris Capuano tonight. Iannetta is 3-for-5 with all three hits being for extra bases (a home run and two doubles). (Game Time 10:05  pm est)
