Fantasy Baseball Daily League Sleepers and Value Plays for May 28th

• P Kevin Gausman Orioles ($2,600, 7.4% of cap at Fan Duel - Play Now): Gausman was solid in his first three innings of his MLB debut, but fell apart after that against a dangerous Blue Jays team, which could be expected, especially since the game was in Rogers Centre. Gausman gets the Nationals today without Bryce Harper. The Nats have the third lowest team batting average in the National League and are tied for second in strike outs in the month of May. • OF Carl Crawford Dodgers ($9,719, 9.7% of cap at Draft Street - Play Now ): Crawford is 8-for-25 (.320) with three extra base hits off of Joe Blanton in his career, and is coming off a week where he hit .389. (Game Time 10:10 pm est)
• OF Matt Joyce Rays ($8,200, 8.2% of cap at Draft Day - Play Now): Joyce is hitting .298 with all eight home runs coming off of right-handed pitching. (Game Time 7:10 pm est)
• OF Nick Markakis Oriolies ($3,600, 10.3% of cap at  Fan Duel - Play Now ): The left-handed hitting Markakis has a ten game hit streak going with two home runs, with three multi-hit games in three of last four games. He will face rookie right-hander Nathan Karns who is making his major league debut and had a 4.60 ERA in Double-A before getting the call-up. (Game time 7:05 pm est)
• OF Domonic Brown Phillies ($8,038, 8.0% of cap at Draft Street - Play Now  ): Sticking with Domonic Brown for the reasons I laid out in yesterday's Daily League Sleepers and Value Plays and he gets another RHP tonight in the struggling Ryan Dempster who hasn't lasted past the fifth inning in each of his last three starts. (Game Time 7:10 pm est)
• 1B Garrett Jones Pirates ($5,700, 9.5% of cap at Fan Throwdown - Play Now): Jones is hitting .286 with all five of his home runs coming off right-handed pitching. (Game Time 7:05 pm est)
• 1B Yonder Alonso Padres ($7,400, 7.4% of cap at Draft Day - Play Now). Alonso is batting .272 with three home runs in the month of May, not much to get overly excited about, but he gets the struggling right-hander Brandon Maurer who has allowed three plus runs in each of his last four starts. (Game Time 10:10 pm est)
• 1B Ryan Howard Phillies ($70,000, 7.0% of cap at Daily Joust - Play Now): The left-handed hitting Howard is 5-for-14 (.357) with two home runs in his career against the righty Ryan Dempster. (Game Time 7:10 pm est)
• 3B Conor Gillaspie White Sox ($3,700, 6.7% of cap at Fan Throwdown - Play Now ): Gillaspie has quietly been one of the more consistent rookie position players hitting around .300 and is hitting .353 in his last seven days. (Game Time 8:10  pm est)
• 3B Josh Donaldson Athletics ($3,400, 9.7% of cap at Fan Duel - Play Now ): Let's start by comparing Donaldson's year to date stat line to Rangers Adrian Beltre (11.7% of cap). Donaldson .324/.397/.553 - Beltre .288/.333/.500 and Donaldson has 12 more RBI, three more doubles, and one more hit in 20 less at-bats compared to Beltre. For tonight's matchup Dondaldson gets a rookie lefty Michael Kickham, and Donaldson has sliced up lefties this season to a tune of about a .400 average with four home runs in 58 at-bats. • SS Nick Franklin Mariners ($1,900, 4.0% of cap at Fan Throwdown - Play Now ): At about league minimum salary across Daily Fantasy Sites, where he is available, it is worth taking a shot on the highly touted prospect against what looks like a favorable matchup in Edinson Volquez.
