Update: The radar looks brutal for tonight's Twins/Tigers game in Detroit. Rain back past Jackson, MI, so if games is played, it's going to be quite late.
There are only four evening games, so today's shopping list is going to be a little short and risky.
Today's Discounts:
  • P Kevin Gausman Orioles ($2,600, 7.4%% of cap at Fan Duel - Play Now ): The pitching match ups are arguably the most unattractive and unfavorable of the year, so save money on a pitcher that has the potential to provide the most bang for your buck and allows you to stack a few, more expensive bats. For a more detailed scouting report on Gausman check out my Fantasy Baseball Minor League Scouting Report.  My other recommendation would be Tigers Rick Porcello if he comes at a middle tier price tag like he does at Fan Duel at 16% of your cap. (Game Time 7:05 pm est)
  • OF Daniel Nava Red Sox ($6,031, 6.0% of cap at Draft Street - Play Now): The switch-hitting Nava is 3-for-5 against the righty Zach McAllister and Nava is a much better hitter from the left side of the plate hitting 50 plus points higher at .302. In addition, Four of Nava's six home runs have come off of right handed pitching. (Game Time 7:07 pm est)
  • OF Jacoby Ellsbury Red Sox ($6,00, 10% of cap at Fan Throwdown - Play Now): Ells has struggled most of the season, which actually comes in handy today as his price tag is on the cheap due to his slow start. The LHH Ellsbury is 3-for-6 with three doubles off of the RHP Zach McAllister and Ells is 4-for-10 with a triple, four RBI, and a walk in his last two games. (Game Time: 7:10 pm est)
  • OF Josh Hamilton Rangers ($8,107, 8.1% of cap at Draft Street - Play Now): Hamilton's price tag is very reasonable for a player who looks to have to turn it around some of late. Hamilton has crushed Ervin Santana in the past, granted Santana has been more Big Erv this season then the last few seasons, but for only 8% of your cap and only four games this seems like a no-brainer pick. (Game Time 8:10 pm est)
  • 1B Eric Hosmer Royals  ($3,300, 9.4% of cap at Fan Duel - Play Now): Hosmer has hit well of late going 8-for-24 for a .333 average and the RHP Joe Blanton has not done well of late. (Game Time 8:10 pm est)
  • C J.P Arencibia Blue Jays ($50,000, 5.0% of cap at Daily Joust - Play Now): All 10 of Arencibia's home runs have come off of right handed pitching and eight of those have come at home. (Game Time 7:07 pm est)
  • 2B Howie Kendrick Angels ($7,950, 8% of cap at Draft Day - Play Now): Howie Kendrick  has 11 hits in his last 24 at-bats (.458) with a home run and three doubles. (Game Time 8:10 pm est)
  • 3B Mike Moustakas Royals ($5,322, 5.3% of cap at Draft Street - Play Now):  2, that is the number of hits Moustakas has since May 11th, in ten games. So, this obviously makes for a risky recommendation, for a second day in a row, but I look at the fact that although he is practically hitless in his last ten games he has only struck out twice in his last seven games, which means he's making contact, but has just had some very bad luck. It is not like his opponent tonight, the RHP Joe Blanton (0-7, 6.62), has had any better of luck himself. Since they both can not be duds when facing each other, I'll put my faith in Moustakas one more night. (Game Time 8:10 pm est)
  • Update: If game is played will be a late start, so may want to look elsewhere (see below) SS Jhonny Peralta Tigers ($3,400, 19.7.% of cap at Fan Duel - Play Now): Peralta's price has dropped slightly at Fan Duel. Peralta is hitting 50 points better when batting sixth in the order as he is tonight and his hitting .303 with RISP on the season.(Game Time 7:05 pm est)
  • SS Stephen Drew Red Sox ($70,000, 7.0% of cap at Daily Joust - Play Now): Drew gets the lefty/righty matchup vs. Indians RHP Zach McAllister. Drew has been terrible, especially lately, but he has hit right-handed pitchers better than lefties and has hit much better at home than on the road.
