Fantasy Baseball Daily League Sleepers and Value Plays for May 19th

Brandon McCarthy helped break my two game streak of failed bullpen support, by not needing the bullpen. McCarthy pitched a complete game shut-out Saturday. Hopefully that was the pitcher you went with yesterday and hopefully today's recommendations are even better. Don't forget to tune at 10pm est tonight to the Fantasy Baseball Breakdown Show with my self and @HecmanbaseballUpdate: Today's game Yankees/Jays game has been postponed. No make up date announced. 

• P Travis Wood Cubs ($9,550, 9.6% of cap at Draft Day - Play Now): The price has not caught up to Wood's production at Draft Day (or Fan Duel, yet) and he will be facing one of the more offensively challenged teams in the New York Mets today. (Game Time 2:20 pm est)
• OF Dayan Viciedo White Sox ($3,200, 9% of cap at Fan Duel - Play Now): I like the righty/lefty matchup for Viciedo, and I think Dayan does as well as he is 4-for-6 with a home run and a walk, yeah a walk, versus Jason Vargas. (Game time 3:35 est)
• OF Matt Joyce Rays ($7,450, 7.5% of cap at Draft Day - Play Now): Joyce is 4-for-10 with two doubles and a home run in his last two games and his batting .278 with all seven of his home runs coming off of right handed pitching. (Game Time 3:35 pm est)
• OF Scott Van Slyke Dodgers (Minimum salary at most all sites): Andre Ethier is not in the Dodgers starting lineup today, and he will be replaced by Andy Van Slyke's son Scott, who homered twice on Friday off of a left-handed pitcher, and he gets another lefty today in the long-ball prone Mike Minor. (Game Time 1:35 pm est).
• OF/3B Martin Prado Diamondbacks ($5,500, 9. 2% of cap at Fan Throwdown - Play Now): I am sticking with Prado again today, as George Michael says, "You gotta have faith, the faith..." If you do not like George Michael you will at least like Prado's numbers against Ricky Nolasco over his career 14-for-40 (.350) with three extra base hits and I believe Prado will have some RBI opportunities today. (Game Time 1:10 pm est)
• C Carlos Ruiz Phillies ($5,554, 5.6% of cap at Draft Street - Play Now): I wanted to recommend Matt Wieters, but he is not in today's lineup, so the hot hitting Carlos Ruiz (5-for-11, .455 last seven days) makes for another option to consider just be sure to check RotoInfo's Weather report as there was a 30% chance of rain earlier this morning. The game is at 1:35, so you should have a good idea early enough to replace Ruiz if need be (Game Time 1:35 pm est)
• 2B Kyle Johnson Rays ($99,000, 9.9% of cap at Daily Joust - Play Now ): Johnson has been Big in his last two games having homered in both and put up eight and 22 Fantasy points at Joust and gets the lefty/righty matchup versus the Orioles RHP Chris Tillman who he went 2-for-3 with a home run in his last game  against Tillman. (Game Time 1:35 pm est)
• 3B Kyle Seager Mariners ($6,970, 7% of cap at Draft Street - Play Now): The LHH Seager is 4-for-6 with a double vs. the lefty Justin Masterson who has allowed nine extra base hits to LHH compared to just four to RHH.(Game Time 1:05 pm est)
• SS Jed Lowrie Athletics ($70,000, 7.% of cap at Daily Joust - Play Now): The switch hitting Lowrie went 2-for-3 with two doubles in his last game versus Royals Luis Mendoza. Vegas has this game's over/under at eight runs, I believe the A's could get eight on their own today versus Mendoza and his 6.00 ERA and 16% HR/FB rate. (Game Time 4:05 pm est)
