[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="665"] You may think I have been hit in the head to recommend DBacks SP Brandon McCarthy, but I wasn't.[/caption]
First off, I want to thank all who tuned into my new show with the face of FanDuel Chris "BeerMakersFan" Prince and the many who have been tweeting at me that they have found this article helpful, the feedback is much appreciated. That's great to hear, and hopefully it has helped you cash in often. This article is just one avenue from which we at RotoInfo.com provide Daily League help, hopefully you are utilizing the MLB Lineup Grid, and you will find myself, and many of our staff providing daily league alternatives if someone is out of the lineup in the player news section on the right hand side of our homepage and on twitter @RotoInfo_com, and we have a Daily League Lobby on the homepage where you can find, among other things, Daily Free Rolls. If you have any questions post in comment section below, tweet at me, or email me at thefantasynomad at gmail I am usually very prompt in answering your questions. Thanks again for the feedback and good luck today hopefully today's pick help you save some salary cap space and kick butt.
  • P Ryan Dempster Red Sox ($284,000, 28.4% of cap at Daily Joust - Play Now): Recommending a pitcher who allowed six earned runs to the Blue Jays in his last start may seem crazy, but every pitcher has a bad outing here and there, tonight's opponent, the Minnesota Twins, do not have as potent of a lineup as the Blue Jays, Dempster earned 19 Fantasy Points in his previous outing against the Twins on May 7th, and tonight's game is in the more pitcher friendly confines of Target Field. Dempster should eat some innings, strike out quite a few batters, and if my curse ends tonight and the bullpen will hold the lead allowing Dempster to get the W. (The bullpens failed my last two SP recommendations). (Game Time 7:10 pm est)
  • P Brandon McCarthy Diamondbacks ($5,500, 16% of cap at Fan Duel - Play Now): If you are looking for a more discounted option at pitching, look to DBacks Brandon McCarthy who gets the lowest scoring team in all of baseball for the month of May, and on the season, and McCarthy is coming off best outing of the season where he shut-out the Phils, which was good for 13 Fantasy Points at Fan Duel, 22 FP at Daily Joust, and 32 FP at Draft Day. (Game Time 7:10 pm est)
  • Pitcher to avoid: Royals Ervin Santana-Big Erv's price tag has risen at some sites, but my main concern is that his opponent tonight, the A's, are one of the better scoring teams at home (4th best in AL), their lineup is filled with left handed hitters, one of their big RHH is Yoenis Cespedes ($65,000, 6.5% of cap at Daily Joust - Play Now) who is 2-for-6 with both hits being home runs vs Erv, and Santana has allowed seven earned in his last 12.1 innings to give him a May ERA of 5.11 compared to a 2.00 ERA in April.
  • OF Andy Dirks Tigers ($3,600, 7.4% of cap at Fan Duel - Play Now): Dirks has filled in nicely for the injured Austin Jackson atop that potent Tigers' lineup and Dirks gets the LHH/RHP match up vs Justin Grimm and his 7.02 May ERA, and four home runs allowed in last three starts, in one of the most hitter favorable parks in all of baseball in Rangers Ballpark. (Game time 8:05 est)
  • OF Matt Holliday Cardinals ($9,800, 9.8% of cap at Draft Day - Play Now): Holliday may come with a little higher price tag at some other DFS, but at Draft Day the price is reasonable for a player who is 6-for-12 with a home run, a double, and two walks vs. Marco Estrada in his career. (Game Time 7:15 pm est)
  • 1B Matt Adams Cardinals ($63,000, 6.3% of cap at Daily Joust - Play Now ): If Adams gets the start he makes for a great play as he will come at a nice discount, gets the LHH/RHP matchup, and is 2-for-3 with a home run of the homer friendly Marco Estrada (19% HR/FB rate). Be sure to check RotoInfo's MLB Line Up Grid about two or so hours before game time to see if Adams is in tonight's lineup. (Game Time 7:15 pm est)
  • 3B Chris Johnson ($6,324, 6.3% of cap at Draft Street - Play Now): Johnson has a three game hit streak going and he gets another lefty on the mound, a very tasty matchup vs. the Dodgers Chris Capuano who has just been flat out turrible this season 6.60 ERA and a 20% HR/FB rate. (Game Time 7:10 pm est)
  • OF/3B Martin Prado Diamondbacks ($5,500, 9.2% of cap at Fan Throwdown - Play Now): If you read yesterday's article, or heard me on the Daily Fantasy Baseball Happy Hour I spoke that I believed Prado was on the cusp of breaking out, and he delivered nicely Friday night going 3-for-5 with an RBI and he will be facing Marlins Tom Koehler who allowed seven hits, a home run, two runs, and only struck out one batter in his last start. Prado's price tag is cheaper than Marlins Adeiny Hechavarria and Twins Trevor Plouffe, showing you how little respect he has been getting at the moment. (Game Time 7:10 pm est)
  • C John Jaso Athletics ($65,000, 6.5% of cap at Daily Joust - Play Now): The LHH Jaso is 7-for-14 with a home run, a double, and three walks in his career vs. the righty Ervin Santana, granted Big Erv is a different pitcher this season, but if you are looking to save a ton of money, at an unappealing offensive position Fantasy wise, than consider Jaso. (Game Time 9:05 pm est)
  • SS Jhonny Peralta Tigers ($7,050, 7.1% of cap at Draft Day - Play Now): Peralta has scored near or above 20 Fantasy Points at Draft Day in six of his last eight games, including a 54 point output on May 11th. He may not get the 50 plus FP game tonight, but I like the matchup vs Rangers Justin Grimm and the fact that Peralta has been one of the best American League scoring shortstops the last 30 days, 1st in average, on-base percentage, and OPS, and 2nd in home runs, hits, and runs scored in that span. (Game Time 7:05 pm est)
Team to Stack: If you are looking for some teams to make mini-stacks from consider the Rockies at home vs Giants Tim Lincecum, with the money you save above you should be able to roster CarGo and Tulo, and the Giants vs Tyler Chatwood including Pablo Sandoval and Bandon Belt.
