Fantasy Baseball Daily League Sleepers and Value Plays for May 14th

  • P Doug Fister ($12,795, 12.8 % of cap at  Draft Street - Play Now):  No way you get two bad starts from "The Fister," especially since he's at home against the Astros who are  just 4-13 on the road.  (Game Time 7:05 pm est)
  • OF Andre Ethier Dodgers ($4,600, 4.6 % of cap at   Star Street - Play Now ): I like the the lefty/righty match up for the LHH hitting Andre Either who is 20-for-47 (.426) with two home runs, five doubles, and seven RBI lifetime against the righty Dan Haren. (Game Time 10:10 pm est)
  • OF Curtis Granderson Yankees ($55,000, 5.5% of cap at Daily Joust - Play Now): This is a risky play as you have to believe Granderson is probably a little rusty, but he comes at the minimum salary at most sites since he has been out of the lineup up to this point. And, Granderson is 15-for-55 (.273) with two home runs in his career vs. tonight's opponent Felix Hernandez (Yeah I had to check that a few times myself, but it's true), and the game is in New York, another little bonus. So, if you are feeling a little lucky, or just want to save some cash on a player that has shown a good track record versus his opponent than consider The Grandy Man. (Game Time 7:05 pm est)
  • OF Matt Joyce Rays ($7,152, 7.2% of cap at Draft Street - Play Now): All six of Joyce's home runs and his 11 RBI have come of RHP. He is batting in the two-hole tonight and is hitting .308 (4-for-11) of John Lackey in his career with a home run, a stolen base, and just two strike outs. (Game Time 7:10 pm est)
  • 2B Josh Rutledge Rockies ($70,000,7.0% of cap at Daily Joust - Play Now): Rutledge is hitting .308 for the month of May with two home runs, this after hitting just .213 in the first month of the season. He will be facing Cubs starter Carlos Villanueva who has allowed five home runs, all to right handed batters. Call this a hunch but I see Rockies being active on the base paths tonight to try and generate some runs, and thus could see Rutledge getting a stolen base. (Game Time 8:05 pm est)
  • 3B/2B/OF Mark DeRosa Blue Jays  ($2,200, 2.2 % of cap at   Star Street - Play Now ): The RHH DeRosa is 7-for-28 (.250), which isn't all that impressive against the lefty Barry Zito in his career, but three of those seven hits have been home runs. The game is in hitter friendly Rogers Centre and DeRosa is batting clean-up tonight for the Jays.  (Game Time 7:07 pm est)
  • SS Zack Cozart Reds ($7,600, 7.6% of cap at  Draft Day - Play Now): In a small sample size, Cozart has been spectacular against the Marlins Ricky Nolasco, 3-for-4 with a home run and a triple.  (Game Time 7:10 pm est)
