Fantasy Baseball Daily League Sleepers and Value Plays for May 11th

- Rays SP Jeremy Hellickson
- I have included some early game options, but check back after 1pm as I will add some late game value plays or follow me on twitter @FantasyNomad and I will tweet out when I update today's article.Â
- P Jeremy Hellickson Rays ($259,000 25.9 % of cap at  Daily Joust - Play Now): Before I delve into why Jeremy Hellickson makes for a good discounted play Saturday, I want to point something out to those of you who play, or are considering playing at some of our multiple DFS affiliates. Of the five DFS affiliates below, I have found that all pitchers across the board at Star Street come at a much higher price, and you have to select two of them, but the hitters are usually one to three thousands dollars cheaper in comparison. Thus, it is even more beneficial to look for  discounted pitching option at Star Street. Now on to Jeremy Hellickson. Hellickson is not known as a strikeout pitcher, but today he gets a Padres team that leads the National League in strikeouts for the month of May at 84 in just nine games. On the flip side, the Rays have been providing a ton of run support for most of their pitchers as they lead the American League in runs scored in the Month of May. Hellickson has struggled of late, but this match up is too enticing to pass up, and it is at home for Hellickson. (Game Time 1:35 pm est)
- P Cliff Lee Phillies ($14,850, 14.9% of cap  at  Draft Day - Play Now): Cliff Lee has actually pitched much better on the road this season with an ERA of 2.48 and an opponents batting average of just .200, while allowing just one home run in 29 innings pitched. (Game Time 8:10 pm est)
- OF Jeff Francoeur Royals ($4,548, 4.5 % of cap at  Draft Street - Play Now):  Frenchy has been frustrating, and I use the word frustrating because I do not know any swear words in French. But Looking at today's match up, the RHH Francoeur is 6-for-11 with a home run and a double in his career against the 60-year old lefty Andy Pettitte, who has allowed 10 earned runs in his last two starts. (Game Time 7:10 pm est)
- OF Nick Markakis ($7,100, 7.1% of cap at Fan Throwdown - Play Now): I am not a huge fan of the LHH Nick Markakis, but I am a fan of catching someone early in a hot streak. Markakis is 4-for-7 with two doubles, two RBI, and two runs scored in his last two games combined, and is a perfect 3-for-3 with a double against tonight's opponent RHP Vance Worley.  (Game Time 7:10 pm est)
- 2B Kelly Johnson Rays ($6,900, 6.9% of cap at  Star Street - Play Now): Johnson is Top 3 in the American League, among second baseman the last seven days, in hits, runs, RBI, and OPS. (Game Time 7:10 pm est)
- DH Victor Martinez Tigers ($6,750, 6.8 % of cap at  Draft Day - Play Now ): Martinez has gotten off to a slow start to the season having just one home run and is hitting .218 on the season, but nothing like playing against your former team and the ever erradic Ubaldo Jimenez who VMart is 6-for-16 (.375) with two home runs, six RBI, and six walks in his career vs. Ubaldo. (Game Time 7:08 pm est)
3B Kyle Seager Mariners ($4,800, 4.8% of cap at Star Street - Play Now): Is it me or has it seemed like Kyle Seager was hyped up big-time in the pre-season, but now has not gotten much attention in Fantasy circles? Well he got my attention Friday having reached base in each of his four plate appearances (two hits, two walks, and three runs scored) and is averaging 8.1 PPG at Star Street. Seager is hitting .318/.392/.482 against right handed pitchers and gets the struggling RHP Jarrod Parker  (Game Time 9:10 pm est)
- 1B/OF Tyler Moore Nationals ($55,000, 5.51% of cap at Daily Joust - Play Now): In the spirit of my Derek Dietrich recommendation Friday, another lesser known talent to put on your radar is Nationals RHH first base/outfielder Tyler Moore. With Jayson Werth likely to land on the disabled list today, Tyler Moore should be in line for some regular at-bats. Moore hit 10 home runs in just 156 at-bats last season for the Nationals and had back-to-back 30 plus home runs seasons in the minors, so the power is there. (Game Time 4:05 pm est)
- SS Jed Lowrie Athletics ($7,500, 7.5% of cap at Draft Day - Play Now): Opposing pitcher RHP Brandon Maurer has been less than impressive this season posting a 6.07 ERA and is striking out less than six batter per nine, add in that Lowrie is a switch hitter who has hit all three of his home runs off of right handed pitching this season.
