Sean Rodriguez, Just about anywhere, PIT— I remember watching ample Pittsburgh Pirates ball games and whenever Rodriguez came to the plate, I could almost guarantee an easy out. Well, he’s been much better this season and his extreme position eligibility is a luxury for his owners. Over the last seven days, Rodriguez is slashing .414/.455/.931 with five home runs in just 33 plate appearances. He’s striking out a good bit during that stretch, but when he isn’t striking out, he’s likely getting a hit. As of right now, Rodriguez is performing like an everyday fantasy asset, but getting him in your lineup won’t be all that hard. He’s played at least five games at every position on the diamond, except for the pitcher and the catcher. I’m not kidding when I say you can place him almost anywhere in your lineup. He offers plenty of lineup flexibility, which quickly becomes a fantasy owner’s best friend down the stretch run. Go get yourself a title and let Rodriguez help you in batting average and home runs for the final push.

Brandon Drury, OF ARI— When you look at the past seven days, no one in baseball has been better than Arizona’s Brandon Drury. He’s slashing an incredible .500/.588/1.036 while posting a .649 wOBA and 314 wRC+ in the past seven games. What can’t he do right now!? The answer is nothing. It’s like he’s going to the plate with pitcher lobbing bouncy balls to him. The ball is exploding off his bat and Arizona has no choice but to keep him in the lineup day in and day out. Another benefit of rostering Drury is that he gives you some lineup flexibility. He’s logged at least 10 games at second base, third base and at the corner outfield spots. His overall line on the season is starting to shape up, thanks to this recent spurt. It has pushed his batting average up to .284 with 15 home runs and 48 RBI on the season. He’s going to be a valuable addition to your team’s power numbers and batting average the rest of the way.

Ariel Miranda, SP SEA— Welcome to fantasy relevancy, Ariel Miranda. Over his last three starts, all of which have been quality starts, he’s allowed just two earned runs on nine hits, while posting a 15:5 K/BB ratio in 19 innings of work. He’s won each of his last four starts and he’s worth picking up in your fantasy league. His next start comes against a strikeout-prone Minnesota team that the Seattle southpaw should be able to dominate. Miranda is up to 5-1 with a 3.88 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP on the season. He’s available in under one-third of ESPN fantasy leagues so if you are in the market for a quality, reliable starter for the stretch run, take a good hard look at Seattle’s Miranda.

Ryon Healy, 3B OAK— Much like the other two hitters above, Healy has been excellent over the past week. He’s currently riding a nine-game hit streak, where he’s scored a run or driven in one in every game. His .553 wOBA ranks ninth in baseball over the past week, while his 262 wRC+ ranks seventh during that same span. Sure, he hasn’t hit as many homers as the other two hitters mentioned in the article, but he can provide the same return in terms of batting average, RBI and runs scored. Healy is owned in just over one-third of ESPN fantasy leagues, so if you need some batting average boosters for the stretch run, take a look at the Oakland third baseman.
