Well, it’s Saturday and you know what that means. CATEGORY IMPACT! The fantasy playoff season is rapidly approaching and with many trade deadlines having passed, the big time moves will now come from free agency. If you are the guy in your league to find the diamond in the rough, it could catapult you to a league title. This piece features three guys that can help you out now, whether it be in stolen bases, runs or saves. Read this article and take another step closer to making—and winning—the playoffs. Without further ado, let’s dive right in.

@colbyrconway on Twitter.

Hernan Perez, 3B MIL— Perez has done nothing but excel in the middle of the Milwaukee batting order. In the month of July, Perez hit .312 with four home runs, 17 RBI and nine stolen bases. He’s been excelling through a few August games as well. Barring any injury, he could enter the 15/30 club this season, which is definitely fantasy worthy. His ownership has shot up in the past few days, but he’s still available in over one-third of fantasy leagues. Over the last 30 days, he’s slashing .329/.354/.539 with a .375 wOBA and 131 wRC+. Also, his BsR during that span trails only Billy Hamilton. In most leagues, you can slot him at third base or in the outfield, so he gives you some flexibility when creating your perfect lineup for the day or week.

Shin-Soo Choo, OF TEX— Since coming off the disabled list, Choo is 3-for-9 with one run scored. Sure, he hasn’t done anything noteworthy since coming back, but he looks healthy, which means he is going to produce moving forward. He’s had double digit home runs the last four seasons and he will reach that mark again in 2016, as long as he can stay healthy. The Rangers made a lot of improvements to this offense, and Choo receives a fantasy value boost with the acquisitions behind him in the lineup. He should be able to rack up the runs scored and even swipe a few bases. Choo is owned in slightly under one-third of fantasy leagues, so you should be able head to the free agent pool and pick this guy up.

Ken Giles, RP HOU— It’s been a roller coaster season for Giles, but it finally seems as if he’s on the right track. Before the All-Star break, he compiled a 4.38 ERA in 37 innings pitched. Since the break, he’s yet to allow an earned run while striking out 13 batters in 5.2 innings. He’s holding batters to a measly .150 batting average since the Midsummer classic and this is everything fantasy owners were hoping for when the team acquired him from Philadelphia. He was brought in to be the closer, and he failed miserably in spring training and the first half of the season. His ownership is skyrocketing, so make sure you get on the Giles bandwagon before it is too late.
