I can’t stress this enough. Do not forget about your fantasy baseball team! You’ve spent too much time this spring and summer getting the perfect, so don’t lose it just because the football season has started. Anyways, I’m bringing you three more guys who can give you an edge over your league-mates. This piece features two pitchers who aren’t getting the attention they deserve, while an outfielder in Tampa Bay is quietly producing across the board. Well, what do you say we get into this?

Kevin Kiermaier, OF TB— Over the past seven days, Kiermaier is slashing .375/.464/.750 while homering three times and swiping two bases. His WAR of 0.7 is tied for second during the aforementioned span and even when he is in a funk, he’s still a threat to steal a base. He hasn’t been striking out a lot, which is obviously good, and his walk percentage of 10.7 isn’t too shabby at the same time. You may have a loaded outfield, or you may not, but Kiermaier is a guy who can help you in a bunch of different categories down the stretch. While he’s hot right now, he can give you quality average, a bit of pop and is no stranger to the stolen base department. This is a guy who can help you down the stretch, so make sure he is on your team and not someone else’s squad.
Mike Montgomery, SP CHC— Who knows how long his recent success will last, but as a fantasy owner, you need to capitalize on someone when they are hot. Over his last two starts—mind you they have both come against the Brewers—he’s allowed just two earned runs on six hits, while posting a 13:3 K/BB ratio in 11 innings of work. In his last start, he held the Brewers to just four hits, while racking up seven strikeouts in six innings of work. The Cubs have moved to a six-man rotation in order to keep their starters fresh for the postseason, so Montgomery should have a spot in the rotation until the season ends. When playoffs come around, he’ll go back to a middle or long relief role, but for now, he can impact your fantasy team. He should give you at least a strikeout per innings while keeping his ERA and WHIP down in the process.
Jerad Eickhoff, SP PHI— Eickhoff’s overall stat line isn’t anything to get excited about really, but when you consider the fact that he’s rattled off five straight quality starts, he starts to look more appealing during the stretch run of this fantasy baseball season. During his nice five-run starts, he’s walked just five batters, while striking out 20. His offense lacks any serious punch and his bullpen is going to screw him over more often than not, but he can still be very useful to your fantasy team. His WHIP is hovering around 1.20, which is pretty good for the young right-hander. He’s only owned in 37 percent of ESPN fantasy leagues right now, so if you want to bolster your pitching staff for the end of your title run, Eickhoff is a quality arm to roster.
