DraftKings Recommended Lineup July 13, 2013 (Late Games)Ready to turn $5 into $50k? @DraftKings is giving you the chance now, and itâs through one-day fantasy baseball games http://bit.ly/17fdiMC
All lineups are based off of a $50,000 salary cap featured at DraftKings, you best option in daily fantasy sports gaming. Lineups consist of a two pitchers, one catcher, one first baseman, one second baseman, one third baseman, one shortstop and three outfielders. All scoring and contest rules for DraftKings contests can be found here.P: A.J. Burnett (PIT) vs. NYM--$10,500--Saturday's start will be just the second time A.J. Burnett has taken the mound since returning from the disabled list, but that shouldn't make you shy against from the Pirates righty. The Mets offense is mediocre at best, and considering Burnett's strikeout ability a big game could be in store for him today.P: Jose Fernandez (MIA) vs. WAS--$7,400--The Nationals may have Bryce Harper back in their starting lineup, but that isn't enough to take Jose Fernandez off of your short list of pitching options for today. Fernandez is 3-0 in eight starts at home this season, posting a 1.47 ERA while averaging just under one strikeout per inning. His opposition is Dan Haren, who is a fringe starter at best at this point in his career, so this could end up being a big game for Fernandez at a relatively cheap price.C: Victor Martinez (DET) vs. TEX--$3,400--After a slow start to the season, Victor Martinez has turned things around and is currently riding a 14-game hit streak. Although his splits don't make him seem like a good start with most of his production coming against right-handed opposition, sometimes you have to ride a player while they are streaking. That is the case with this selection.1B: Brandon Belt (SF) @ SD--$3,800--To save cap space to roster Miguel Cabrera, I had to find value and take chances at other positions. Brandon Belt comes in at a relatively cheap price, and has produced well against the Padres starter Edinson Volquez. In nine career at-bats against Volquez, Belt has recorded four hits, which factors out to a .444 batting average. Belt has driven in only one run over his last 10 games, but that could change tonight if the Giants jump all over Volquez early in this one.2B: DJ LeMahieu (COL) @ LAD--$3,100--Despite solid production over his last few games, his price tag has yet to catch up to his production. DJ LeMahieu is coming off of a three-hit performance on Friday night and has now recorded multi-hit games in three of his last four contests. He has faced off against Zack Greinke only five times in his young career, but has two RBIs against him.SS: Jose Iglesias (BOS) @ OAK--$2,700--Like LeMahieu, Jose Iglesias' price tag has yet to catch up to his production as he continues to outperform his current ranking at DraftKings. Hitting in the bottom half of the Red Sox order isn't the best place to be, but he has recorded six hits over his last four games as he continues to support one of the best batting averages in all of baseball. Having him on your roster saves a lot of cap space for some heavy hitters (Cabrera, Trout, Ibanez) so he should definitely be considered for tonight.3B: Miguel Cabrera (DET) vs. TEX--$6,900--There really isn't must analysis needed for this selection, as Miguel Cabrera continues to produce night in and night out for the Tigers and his fantasy owners. Cabrera is 3-for-8 lifetime against Rangers starter Derek Holland with two home runs and four RBIs, not to mention he is batting .418 against South Paws and .389 at home. His production is clearly reflected in his price tag, but as long as you can find value elsewhere, he should be rostered.OF: Mike Trout (LAA) @ SEA--$5,300--In most cases you would not want to roster anyone that is going up against Felix Hernandez, but Mike Trout is the one exception to that rule. Trout is 14-for-30 against King Felix over the course of his career, with four extra-base hits including one home run and nine RBIs. Like Miguel Cabrera, Trout is the type of player that is matchup proof, so as long as you have the cap space, he should be rostered tonight.OF: Raul Ibanez (SEA) vs. LAA--$3,600--I never thought I would be recommending Raul Ibanez in daily fantasy baseball at the start of the season, but he continues to rake, having added two more home runs to his already growing season total. To add to his recent hot streak, Ibanez is 14-for-30 against Angels starter Jared Weaver with four home runs and seven RBIs. That is enough for me to keep rolling with this 41-year-old, despite being in the mediocre Mariners lineup.OF: Adam Eaton (ARI) vs. MIL--$3,200--After going with a few big power hitters that took up a big portion of my salary cap for today, I needed to find value to round out my outfield position. Eaton has played in only four games since returning from the disabled list, but that will keep his price down for now, making him a great value.Total Salary: $49,900Always pay close attention to the weather!
