DraftKings Recommended Lineup June 22, 2013 (Late Games)Ready to turn $5 into $50k? @DraftKings is giving you the chance now, and itâs through one-day fantasy baseball games http://bit.ly/17fdiMC
All lineups are based off of a $50,000 salary cap featured at DraftKings, you best option in daily fantasy sports gaming. Lineups consist of a two pitchers, one catcher, one first baseman, one second baseman, one third baseman, one shortstop and three outfielders. All scoring and contest rules for DraftKings contests can be found here.P: Corey Kluber (CLE) vs. MIN--$7,000--Over his last two starts, Corey Kluber has been very impressive, allowing just one earned-run while striking out 11 batters through 16.0 innings of work. In his last meeting with the Twins he allowed three runs on five hits and four walks, but since they he has fixed his control issues, and has now allowed just six walks in his last five starts. Kluber will never be the ace of the staff, but he surely has made himself serviceable and prospective DFS players should take notice and take advantage of this great matchup tonight.P: Jerome Williams (LAA) vs. PIT--$5,000--Due to great hitters matchups tonight, money had to be saved somewhere, and what better place than at starting pitching. Jerome Williams was moved to the bullpen last week, but finds himself back in the starting rotation and draws a favorable matchup tonight. There is only one team in all of baseball that strikeouts more against right-handed pitchers other than the Pirates, and Williams has shown the ability to force swing-and-misses in the right situations. I am not by any means saying he is a great play tonight, but he should be able to outperform his price tag.C: Victor Martinez (DET) vs. BOS--$3,600--Victor Martinez has been a major disappointment this season which has lowered his salary to all-time lows through the first two and a half months of the season. The Tigers will face off against Allen Webster, who is making just his third start of his career and has had little success in his small sample size. If there was a time for Martinez to break out of his slump, tonight would be the night. Not to mention, most of his production this season has come against right-handed opposition, which makes him even more appealing.1B: Prince Fielder (DET) vs. BOS--$6,000--As mentioned in the Victor Martinez write-up, it would be wise to get as many Tigers into starting lineups tonight, considering the opposing pitcher. Price Fielder comes into Saturday as the highest priced first baseman on the board, which is one of the reason's for going cheap in the pitching staff. Despite managing just two hits in his last five games, Fielder has produced well this season, and tonight could be a night where we could see him go for 20-plus fantasy points if Allan Webster pitches like he did last time he took the mound.2B: Jason Kipnis (CLE) vs. MIN--$5,100--The second base position is rather shallow for tonight's contests, so it only made sense to go with the top guy on the board at another position. In six career at-bats against P.J. Walters, Jason Kipnis has three hits, which is good enough for me to deploy him without hesitation. To add to his success against Walters, Kipnis has hit safely in nine of his last 10 games including four multi-hit games.SS: Jed Lowrie (OAK) @ SEA--$3,900--After going o-7 earlier in the week, Jed Lowrie backed his lack of production up with two straight multi-hit games over the last two nights. Lowrie has very gone up against Mariners starter Aaron Harang, but has hit right-handed opposition at a .309 clip, with four home runs and 17 extra base hits. He is coming in rather cheap tonight, mostly due to the ballpark factor, so expect a good return on investment if you choose to roster him.3B: Kyle Seager (SEA) vs. OAK--$4,300--Kyle Seager has now hit safely in six straight games, including a four-hit performance two nights ago. In one game against Athletics starter Dan Straily, Seager went 2-for-3 with a home run and two walks, in a game in which Straily allowed six runs. Now batting in the three-hole, Seager's fantasy value has increased even more than, so take advantage of this hot hitter with a very favorable matchup.OF: Matt Holliday (STL) vs. TEX--$5,600--Like the Tigers situation, the Cardinals are facing off against a rookie pitcher with little major league experience. This is the type of matchup that should have Matt Holliday drooling, especially with the way he has been hitting the ball lately. There really isn't much to examine in this matchup with no batter versus pitcher stats, but there is nothing wrong with going with one of the best hitters at a position in a situation like this.OF: Carlos Beltran (STL) vs. TEX-$5,000--See Matt Holliday Write-Up. Just be cautious whenever using Carlos Beltan. In an effort to try and keep him healthy, the Cardinals give him more days off than any other player on the team. Be sure so check Rotoinfo.com's MLB Daily Lineups Grid to make sure Beltran is in the starting lineup before finalizing your roster. OF: Jason Kubel (ARI) vs. CIN--$4,500--Jason Kubel is coming off of a four-hit performance from last night and will get a favorable matchup once again on Saturday. The Diamondbacks always make sure to get Kubel in the starting lineup when there is a right-handed pitcher on the mound, as he is known for being a righty-killer. In 119 at-bats against right-handed opposition, Kubel is batting .294 with four home runs and 19 RBIs, so the odds are surely in his favor for tonight's contests.Total Salary: $50,000Always pay close attention to the weather!
