DraftKings Recommended Lineup June 8, 2013 (Late Games)Ready to turn $5 into $50k? @DraftKings is giving you the chance now, and itâs through one-day fantasy baseball games http://bit.ly/17fdiMC
All lineups are based off of a $50,000 salary cap featured at DraftKings, you best option in daily fantasy sports gaming. Lineups consist of a two pitchers, one catcher, one first baseman, one second baseman, one third baseman, one shortstop and three outfielders. All scoring and contest rules for DraftKings contests can be found here.P: Ervin Santana (KC) vs. HOU--$10,000--Over the course of the baseball season there are many trends and this year one of the most noticeable has to be the strikeout potential of opposing starting pitcher against the Astros. As a team, the Astros lead all of baseball in strikeouts with 593 on the season, including 74 over their last seven games. Ervin Santana has shown the ability to produce a lot of swing-and-misses, recording at least five strikeouts in each of his last four outings, but tonight he could reach double-digits. He is priced very high for tonight's contests with the other top pitcher going earlier in the day, but he should be able to live up to the high price tag based on the matchup.P: Kris Medlen (ATL) @ LAD--$8,900--Despite sporting a lousy 2-6 record, Kris Medlen has pitched much better than his record indicates. In his last four appearances, Medlen has allowed only six earned-runs, including two shutout performances over that time frame. He faces off against the Dodgers, who have produced little offense outside of the bat of Yasiel Puig (who we will be discussing later) and are now ranked 27th in runs scored in all of baseball. Medlen's splits are pretty much identical on both the road and at home, so that should really have no bearing on his production tonight. Like Ervin Santana, Medlen is priced pretty high tonight, but if he can produce a win, he will be well worth it.C: Tim Federowicz (LAD) vs. ATL--$2,500--Considering how much I had to pony up to put together a solid pitching staff, the one position I thought I could cut back on what at the catcher slot. With that said, Tim Federowicz is very attractive for tonight's contests, with an extremely low price tag. Federowicz has hit two home runs in his last five games, and was given the day off on Friday, so he will likely be back in the starting lineup on Saturday. If that is the case, he is a decent option, especially if you are find yourself in the same situation as me.1B: Freddie Freeman (ATL) @ LAD--$4,100--There aren't many hitters that have been producing like Freddie Freeman, making him a must-start in daily contests tonight. Freeman has five multi-hit games in his last 10 contests, including a three-hit performance last night. Freeman has never faced Dodgers starter Stephen Fife, but is batting .310 against right-handed pitchers this season, with five home runs and 21 RBIs. Not to mention he is batting over .300 on the road through 92 at-bats, so he has a lot going for him and the price is right considering he is the priced near the bottom of first basemen for tonight's contests.2B: Dustin Pedroia (BOS) vs. LAA--$5,100--The Red Sox second basemen comes in as the best option at second base tonight, and there is no reason to shy away from him. Dustin Pedroia is 7-for-15 lifetime against Angels starter C.J. Wilson with one home urn and five RBIs. This will be the second game of Saturday's doubleheader, so if you are going to use him, be sure to check Rotoinfo.com's MLB Daily Lineups Grid to make sure he playing in both games. As long as he starts, he is a must-play, especially since he is riding a 10-game hitting streak.SS: Jean Segura (MIL) vs. PHI--$4,100--The Brewers have to be happy with the piece they got in return for Zack Greinke last season, as Jean Segura keeps producing night in and night out. Segura is coming off of a 2-for-5 performance, with his third triple in his last 10 games, and two runs scored. Playing at home, Segura is batting .321 with five home runs and 14 RBIs, so he has a lot going for him if you are looking into investing in him. Considering the other options, there is no reason to over pay for the likes of Jimmy Rollins and Everth Cabrera, so save some salary for starting pitcher tonight and role with this rising star.3B: David Freese (STL) @ CIN--$4,300--David Freese extended his hitting streak to 17 games on Friday night, after a 2-for-3 performance logging two runs and two RBIs. Freese's price has started to climb during his streak, but is still priced below the top third basemen on DraftKings for tonight's contests. Freese is 4-for-13 lifetime against Reds starter Mat Latos with two doubles and three RBIs, and should be able to build on that success considering how hot he is right now. With the lack of middle-tier starting pitcher tonight, it would be wise to take the advantage of the value Freese has tonight, so be sure to get him in you lineup.OF: Yasiel Puig (LAD) vs. ATL--$3,800--The Dodgers needed a spark in their lineup, and Yasiel Puig has done everything in his power to fill that void. Through his first five big league games, Puig has hit five home runs, becoming just the second player in modern baseball history to surpass that goal. Not only has he flashed his power set, Puig has recorded three multi-hit games over that time frame including a three-hit performance last Tuesday. Puig has outproduced his current price, but that will change by next week if he keeps up his current pace, so get him in your lineups now while he is still considered a value.OF: Cameron Maybin (SD) @ COL--$3,700--The Padres welcomed back Cameron Maybin to the starting lineup on Thursday, and has produced well in his first two games. Maybin has recorded two multi-hit games since coming off of the disabled list, which is a great sign considering how bad he played prior to his injury. He has had little success against Jeff Francis over the course of his career, going 2-for-8 with one double, but taking his cheap price into consideration, it is hard to look passed him.OF: Jason Heyward (ATL) @ LAD--$3,400--After recording four straight multi-hit games, Jason Heyward went 1-for-5 on Friday night extending his hitting streak to five games. Heyward is really swinging a hot bat right now, and over the course of his young career he has been a very streaking player. Now that he is streaking upward, it is the time to get him into your starting lineups before he cools off. It will be hard to find an outfielder with the same value at Heyward, so stock up on your starting pitchers and go with three cheap options to fill out your outfield, in Heyward, Cameron Maybin and Yasiel Puig.Total Salary: $49,900Always pay close attention to the weather!
