We’ve got a short slate today and it actually looks even shorter with both Draft Kings and Fantasy Aces skipping the Reds/Indians game which starts an hour before the rest of the main slate. Yankees spot-starter Chad Green is also not available on Aces. So with that, we’ll probably see a lot of overlap and high ownership percentages for a small handful of starters. Here’s a look at the data and the picks I’ll be using for today.

Jordan Zimmermann, DET – The Twins have been right around league average over the past week, but if you look at their number against right-handers, you’ll find an unimpressive .306 wOBA with a 22.8-percent strikeout rate.
Kenta Maeda, LAD – The Angels lineup is completely dominated by right-handed hitters who have been limited to just a .255 wOBA by Maeda. You won’t see a world of strikeouts as the Halos do remain quite disciplined at the plate, but the Japanese hurler should keep the runs off the board or at the least, to a minimum.
Adam Conley, MIA – Big tilt towards the young southpaw here as the Phillies have just a .275 wOBA with a 23.9-percent strikeout rate against lefties and those numbers stay almost exactly there at home. He’s priced a little on the high end for FanDuel and Draft Kings but has a killer cost on Aces.
Jon Niese, PIT – While you normally wouldn’t give Niese a second glance, the fact that he’s facing the Braves gives him promise in GPPs; so much so that he’ll probably be chalk in tournament play. From the .238 wOBA versus lefties to the .268 wOBA on the road, there’s nothing good we can say about this Atlanta lineup.
The FanDuel Dart(s)
If you’re looking to throw in a multitude of lineups on FanDuel, then it definitely makes sense to build two lineups around low-cost darts Cody Anderson and John Lamb. Neither one has much going for him right now and the numbers don’t look great. However, over the last seven days, the Tribe is dead-last with a .270 wOBA (20.6-percent K-rate) and the Reds have a .288 wOBA with an even less-impressive 25.4-percent strikeout rate. For the low-budget tournaments, I’ll be building a lineup with each of these starters and hope one out-shines the other. I’ll also have some sick bats in each lineup so if one of these hurlers really surprises us, it could be a real nice payoff in the end.
