Split slate today and it’s running close to lineup deadline time for the early games, so I’ll waste no more time here. I’ve split up the data table for you to discern between the earl and late games with recommendations after each one. Best of luck today, people, and away we go…

Jake Arrieta, CHC – He struggled in his one outing against the Cardinals back in late May, but St. Louis is cold right now and posting just a .293 wOBA with a .349 slugging percentage over the past week. Pay up with confidence.
Noah Syndergaard, NYM – The Royals had been hitting well recently but hit a bit of a wall last night. Imagine that wall now being bigger, stronger and blonde? Kansas City is post barely league-average numbers against righties this season, so look for a strong performance here from Syndergaard.
Lance McCullers, HOU – The Angels have a 20th-ranked .309 wOBA against righties this season with a below-average .139 ISO. They don’t strike out a ton, so consider McCullers more of a second starter on Draft Kings or Fantasy Aces.
Adam Conley, MIA – The Braves worked the counts and chased Conley after just 4.1 innings in their last meeting, but the youngster still didn’t give up much in the way of runs. Three of his four starts since have looked very strong and while the Braves are swinging some decent wood over the last week, they still rank dead last with a .261 wOBA against lefties this year which also comes with a 22.9-percent strikeout rate.
Jon Gray, COL – It pains me to go against my Yankees here, but Gray, save for one start in St. Louis a month ago, has been very strong on the road. The strikeouts may not be abundant, but the Yankees are sitting on just a .307 wOBA and a .130 ISO over the past week, basically the same totals they’ve posted against righties all year….and that’s not good.
Danny Duffy, KC – I don’t love Duffy overall in seasonal leagues, but when the match-up is right, you can’t deny what he’s done recently. Add to it the Mets’ .301 wOBA and 25.4-percent K-rate against southpaws this year, you have to give him some love in GPPs.
Junior Guerra, MIL – How about a little dart here as a second pitcher in GPP play? Guerra won’t rack up much in strikeouts, but considering the A’s have a .258 wOBA with a sad sack .115 ISO over the last week, Guerra should be able to limit any potential damage.

Cole Hamels, TEX – Can the Reds step up their game two days in a row? Before last night’s eight-run explosion they were averaging just 2.5 runs per game over the previous four. They’ve hit southpaws fairly well this season but over this past week, we’re looking at a .289 wOBA with a .129 ISO and a 22-percent strikeout rate. Hamels should be able to control them.
Jeff Samardzija, SF – While I still believe in the overall product, the Pirates just look lost right now and have for the last few weeks. They’ve posted a .280 wOBA with a 29.1-percent strikeout rate over the past week and that actually look better than what they did the previous two weeks. They may be trying to work themselves out of it, but they won’t do it at the Shark’s expense.
Jose Quintana, CHW – Yesterday I was concerned that the Red Sox were hitting lefties well this year and Chris Sale made me look like an idiot. Can I try going to this well today with Quintana? I think so. He may not rack up a ton of whiffs, but Boston has produced just a .305 wOBA and a meek .124 ISO over the past week. I’ll use Q for a FanDuel GPP and as a second pitcher in cash games on Draft Kings and Aces.
Trevor Bauer, CLE – The Tribe has been dominant at home and the Rays are coming into their home ice friggin’ cold. Corey Kluber made quick work of them last night and now they face Bauer posting a .250 wOBA with a 24.4-percent strikeout rate over the past week. I’m playing him in mostly GPPs but I’ve got him in a few cash games as a second starter.
Michael Fulmer, DET – The walks have been a little high lately, but he’s been throwing a lot on the road lately and in some very homer-friendly parks, so as a young starter, the heavy dose of pitches outside the strike zone seem understandable. But now he’s home where he’s posted a 0.69 ERA over 13.1 innings and looks strong. The Mariners have maintained slightly better than league-average numbers this season against righties, so I’m going to side with Fulmer’s breakout season here.
Eduardo Rodriguez, BOS – Yes, E-Rod. But only as a dart in GPPs here. The White Sox are just about league average against southpaws this season, but over this past week, they’ve posted a .287 wOBA with a 24-percent strikeout rate. E-Rod is sink or swim, but I think he’s going to, at the worst, tread water here and look decent.
Kyle Gibson, MIN – Blech! Gibson makes my skin crawl, but I’m slinging him out in all sorts of GPPs today with this match-up against the Phillies. We’ve seen him shine on rare occasions and this could be one of them as the Phillies not only have a 29th-ranked .282 wOBA with a 22.1-percent strikeout rate against righties this year, but over the past week, that wOBA has plummeted to .240 with a just a .323 slugging percentage.
